Can anyone believe in a positive endgame for A.I.?

Even if A.I. were to painlessly adapt to society and even come in physical form, how sustainable is it? As soon as we run out of resources to power A.I., the concept of "The Matrix" feels like a blueprint for the future.

I can't even fathom the repercussions of all this. 

The sad part is, the pedophilia aspect of this will deservedly get a lot of attention, but the degradation of trust, morality, and complete systemic failure might be irreparable. It feels like the world is heading to the wrong place fast.
