I've been to plenty of birthday parties that would have that exact Lion King themed party ware. The highlight typically was the birthday kid receiving a Game Boy from their parents and a bevy of Battle Trolls. 

I like how before the internet the UK always looked 5-10 years older than present day America.  Mr. Bean was a perfect capture of that, and this picture is no different.
