Annddddd....No...Thank god...really don't want to go back.

Any US other fests in that time frame??

how exactly are you concluding "no"?

Was there a premature lineup leak?

I'm already reserving some funds in anticipation for a weekend 2 trip.

Sending a digital high-five if I don't have to go broke complaining about crowds of people younger than me!

I retract my previous statement and look like a fool. I read wrong things...

I'll leave now.
That would have blown my mind. If I had a mind.
"We going up!" and then pogo for the stars
"why yes, yes you are crazy and I love you for it!" Whirly

don't worry, we'll be sure to remind you of this when the lineup comes out.

Oh come now people... part of the fun of going to Coachella is grouping up with your posse and judging everyone that isn't part of your group.

Seriously, the perfect gap in dates and general locality couldn't be more obvious. Let's end these rumors of pettiness, and rejoice in the inevitable return of our music overlords.

To start the healing, I'll bring my King of Leon CDs!!!!

... to fuel the bon fire  >:D

as much fun as it is judging everyone at Coachella, going to Ceremonia is probably a better idea.

Cashella...I mean Coachella would work since they're playing Mexico City a few days later.

This is up there. Like, Star Guitar up there.

Best-case scenario for a Coachella set is the Chems get to wheel out their singularly excellent live set on the current biggest stage of the music world in front of a massive crowd without interruption, and maybe we also get a quality proshot video of it if it goes up on the livestream. Worst-case scenario some new band eats up a bunch of their timeslot and we can stop making Kings Of Leon references in 2020. The fans win either way imo

Welp, my presumption didn't pay off.

Spoiler

They must really have it out for Coachella, a bit disappointing that's still a thing.

I kinda think the lineup is pretty good (at least Friday and Saturday) and would have been pretty satisfied attending after 5+ year absence.

On the bright side, I think we have a Danny Elfman tour to look out for 2020.

I'm really surprised, actually. what a ball-drop.

but at least I can now forget about trying to attend. I had started to figure out if I could go just one day to see them. now I needn't bother.

I'm surprised it was within 24 hours of my last post.

I'm more surprised that I called it...

Am I prophetic???? (Quick, make a wish ryno)....

Uhhhh...chems will play Vancouver in April???

So to return to Rynostar's question about potential other US festivals (not necessarily in the April time frame)...

Maybe Outside Lands or a rumored return of Day for Night festival? Anything else would be kinda be a stretch or surprise, I think.

they are way outside of Outside Lands' demographic. Day for Night, if it returns, would be much more suitable, but I feel like a separate north american visit is unlikely.

hoping for something, or anything. might still consider Mexico.

Yeah, I don't have a pulse for Outside Lands but I do want to note the promoter is connected to Bill Graham show from last year.

I am kind of relieved not to see the Chems on that Coachella line-up. I've had my time in the sun but I'm over that festival, frankly - so come at me with the OK boomer jokes... Though with the gap in the already announced dates, I would say I'm a little bit surprised. Maybe the two weekend commitment doesn't make sense logistically? Or who knows maybe the line-up will change like it always does (even at the 11th hour like it did when Chems were given the closing spot over Bjork and Shitbirds of Leon all those years ago.)
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
