PS. @neorev,do you know if a recording of No Souvenirs excists and/or in which track is has evolved? Is it shelved or disgarted? I believe in a recent Russin interview the track is thrown away. It's a post TFOTL, post AONO track if I remember correctly.

Nightboat To Cairo was done in 2002 with Keith on vocals. It was only played live once and even had a live sax player. When they played it live, the breakdown went into Medusa's Path with Maxim delivering a vocal line.

Yes, there are studio versions of No Souvenirs, which was written back in 2000. I know of two versions apparently. Liam's and one was mixed by Massive Attack's guy Mike Stent and amped up the trippier, psychedelic side. It was written for The Beach soundtrack, but pulled at the last minute. It seems it was even meant to be a single as UNKLE and Dan The Automator did remixes. UNKLE leaked their remix years later on their Belfast mix CD. Liam and 3D had discussed the idea of working together on something together. Then, they ended up contributing instrumental music to a porno film called The Uranus Experiment. The Prodigy track is called Titan and is only featured on the porno. Liam is friends with Alex Garland, who wrote The Beach. Alex is actually responsible for the band cartoon drawings in the Experience art. So Liam and 3D decided to work together and No Souvenirs was born. They pulled it from the soundtrack. It was then getting reworked and included on Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. But Liam scrapped a bunch of tracks he had written, including No Souvenirs, and started over. Liam was just never happy with the track. He said it was a track he just couldn't finish. He never used any sounds from No Souvenirs on any other tracks.

3D: "Liam and I had been talking about doing something together for about a year and then we did a track each for a porn film called 'The Uranus Experiment'. Liam knew Alex Garland who wrote 'The Beach' and Liam suggested that he did the music and I wrote some lyrics for a song to go on the film's soundtrack. The track is called 'No Souvenirs' and is slightly Pink Floyd; slightly Beach Boys in places; full-on dark but very musical with some great arrangements. But in the end, we felt it wasn't appropriate for the soundtrack album. The rest of the album was too dance and pop-orientated so we pulled it. It might end up as a track on the next Prodigy album."

Can't fkn wait for more B)
Where do I start?
Where do I begin?

Dear Brothers, Sisters and other siblings, all of the Prodigy Warriors, the Voodoo People, today marks the half of the century, since the birth of our mastermind Liam Howlett.

Happy Birthday Liam!

I want to give you the infinite thanks for not only creating the best band on the fkn world, but also for your major role in crushing all of those fake walls separating the 3 different worlds of Ravers, Punks/Metals and Hip-Hop, showing them, that they all are about the exact same thing, igniting one of the biggest revolutions in history of music, something, that the echoes of are heard literally everywhere!

I might wrote here the whole book about how much your music has changed me since the 1st listen of the Voodoo People...
You've said, that looking back on "Music for the Jilted Generation" the title seems a bit stupid, but I'd say, that it isn't stupid at all..

You see, it simply sums up the whole story behind its creation process, as every single person has to go thru that hard moment of collide, the abadonment, trying to find our own place in the changing reality, for me that's the one true meaning of the Jilted Generation!

HAPPY BDAY LIAM!
TURN THAT FLAME EVEN HIGHER!

A mystery:

This song on Spotify is credited to The Prodigy. My brother gave it a listen and said it sounds NOTHING like them.

A little digging later I found this very similar looking song from a different artist with nothing else on their page.

My best guess: some kind of streaming fraud via an unwitting independent distributor. This has happened sometimes, where one artist's page has songs from another with the same name.
You were always such a free spirit
Who came and went so much
A will-o'-the-wisp and charming with it
I'm still longing for your touch

A common mistake, we laughed at it a bit on fb ;)
Another common mistake is putting the Mobb Deep's Prodigy as Liam Howlett Prodigy xD

So, when i was in London in summer for 5 weeks i bought TDTYF on record store day at Rough Trade (NH). And while standing in line waiting for my purchase i've decided to also buy a copy of Electronic Punks, i think some of you know the book. Now that i'm reading the last chapter based around Music For Jilted Generation there is one line that gets me a question mark above my head.

Here's the part:

I always thought that Voodoo People was the only remix Tom'n'Ed did for Liam, but then the book says "once again the Dust Brothers remixes on the b-side". Did i just misunderstood the writing? Is there another remix i maybe know but totally forgot about? Is there a remix i just don't know? Or is it just nonsense that Martin Roach (writer of the book) has written?
no idea, no idea

I also know only of Voodoo People remix, maybe author made a mistake.
I can hit cheeky lizards if I want!

There's only the one remix Chemical Brothers did of Voodoo People. Liam did do his own remix of The Chemical Brothers remix called Voodoo Beats.

I've never read Electronic Punks by Martin Roach before. I've only read Prodigy and We Eat Rhythm, both written by Martin James. Martin James is doing a Part 2. We Eat Rhythm goes up until the point Liam scraps the original tracks he was working on for Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned and decides to start all over. Part II will be called We Live For The Beats and will cover from the release of AONO to now.

We Eat Rhythm

Is this a good read? And are there any differences between the version from the writers website (45£) and the version from bandcamp (35£) except the cover?
no idea, no idea

Nope, no difference, just covers. It's the Definitive Prodigy biography. I can't wait for part 2. He mentioned it should come in 2022.

Hey guys,
I have quite an extensive collection of magazines, clippings and old calendars (1998-2001) and other bits 'n' pieces from The Prodigy which I collected over many years.
I am looking a getting rid of some stuff and if there was anyone interested or you know of fellow Prodigy fans out there that maybe interested, please DM me and we can come to some arrangement?

This is the first return to live shows, right?

Any discussion on how they'll handle Keith's parts. Visual recording? Special guest replacement?

Hope this can make its way stateside. Forwhatever reason, Prodigy's visits to Chicagoland have not aligned with me.

Yes, this is their first live show since Keith passed. I believe their last show was in Auckland in February 2019. They had played Australia and were preparing for the US tour. There have been no talks/discussions on how the new live show will be. I hope it leads to an eventual US tour as the 2019 US tour got canceled.

I think, that it's the great moment to bring some changes to the setlist and the formula of the shows, as let's be honest. beside few obvious changed due to the release of No Tourists, the tracklist is almost the same since 2016?

I'd love them to bring some fan favs back, also some more Maxim heavy tracks, like World's on Fire, more often played Poison and Mindfields, or maybe, but just maybe the live debut of the Piranha!?
