something different:

He loses mad points for not mounting a tambourine to his hi-hat for the larger than life tambourine hits in the original. It's the equivalent of skipping the drum fill while drumming along to 'In The Air Tonight'.

Man I miss drumming.

Just found the really nice Russian cover of MAH, yeah, the lyrics are in russian, which makes it even more interesting!
Where do I start?
Where do I begin?

Yup, I posted that on page one :D

It's a great cover!
Wolf Alice is the best band alive.

I don't have any video or audio evidence, but apparently Beck covered "Wide Open" in 2018 on his second date at Red Rocks [9/25/2018] for his 'Colors' tour. Was this ever brought up? I've searched on YouTube but I found no hits...

It was played between "Black Tambourine" and "The Golden Age" according to setlist.fm

Nice and funny The Boxer cover

Interesting acoustic take on Out of Control. I like the choice of chords here which give it a different feel

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

I'm not a drummer, but the hardest part about this has to be keeping together during the segue between It Doesn't Matter and Don't Stop the Rock, right? Or is that the fun part?

I think we are witnessing the evolution of what should come to the live show.

Well done drummer dude!

Please no  :o
The dumbest idea Liam Howlett ever had was live drums and guitar. Nobody needs that... at least I don't.  Maybe works for Moby but not for the Prodigy and in my world also not for our maestros :D

As we've previously established, Liam doesn't really have live drums. He just has a set on stage and a guy sat behind them doing the pretends 🙃

I do think live drums have a place in some electronic shows though. I actually just saw Fox Stevenson the other night - a D&B singer/songwriter guy, who played with a live drummer and guitarist, and I can tell you for certain - the live drums worked really well! Despite being in our absolutely worst sounding venue here in Portland, the live drums, combined with the backing track, really transformed a bunch of already hard hitting tracks.

It has to be done properly. You can't just 1 for 1 them, it has to be a blend (because people come to hear the BRB sampled breaks, not a live rendition) - which is what made the Prodigy situation even more infuriating. If they had mic'd the snare and cymbals, it could have really elevated that set at Coachella, but alas.

All that to say, I think there is a way for it to be done well, and yes, even for The Chems. But I don't think it's something they would ever opt into, given the amount of control it seems they like to have over the entire sound of the show.

If we do ever get to to back to the smaller club shows, it could be a very cool experiment to see unfold!

I do like in the video above that the guy is also not 1 for 1ing them. He's playing his own rhythms on top and working them around the tracks nicely!

Yeah, in no way do I think Live drums should replace the entire show. I do think it should be an accent piece for a segment though.

On the other hand, that's another expense to drag/rent a drum kit during tours...

Test case, here's Future Rock performing Midnight Madness as a three piece with live drums at 8:40:

and a studio version

These guys were a lot of fun. Lots of electronic/rock originals and electronica covers (Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, The Chems), all very jam band / festival set oriented.
W.D.Y.K.A.G.?

^ Love this!

And yes! A live cover band is really what we need.

I always dreamed of forming an LCD Soundsystem cover band (before they released American Dream, which is just not as fun to play along to). Maybe the real play is the Chems cover band!

Who's in? I call drums.
