Let Your Heart See the Colours All Around You

Requesting: memories, photos, merch pics (1997 Dig Your Own Hole, Denver)

So a little background: I was born the year before this tour, but I have been recently collecting original shirts/merch/anything I can get my hands on (without much luck) from this tour. The second shirt I got (Dig Your Own Hole), I was able to track down the exact concert the OG owner got it from. The April 29th 1997 concert at Ogden Theatre, Denver, CO, USA.

It got me really curious about the memories that guy must have from that concert, and I can't find anything from it media wise. I also can't ask the OG guy himself, since I don't know his identity and he sold it to the guy I bought it from.

So I'm basically looking for anything at all from the 1997 Dig Your Own Hole tour. It doesn't have to be from the Denver concert, but extra points if you were at Ogden Theatre back then!

Any memories/vibes of concerts, photographs, ticket stubs, posters, promotional stuff, your own collection from that time: anything you can show me! I'd love to archive/save it (if that's okay with you of course).

I never got to experience it myself, so I'm hoping to immerse myself in the memories of the people that did. Thank you so much for reading!

Just Remember To Fall In Love

I'm gonna start the replys to this thread on a weird note, but I think it's a potentially important piece of trivia.

There's a good chance Dylan Klebold, infamously of Columbine Highschool shooter fame, being at that specific Denver concert in 1997. There is archived photos with him wearing a red Setting Sun concert shirt that could only be acquired at shows from that era. He also mentions Chemical Brothers song titles in his diarys/journals that were left behind, so it's pretty much a lock he was a fan.

1997 seemed to be the Chemical Brothers heaviest involvement in American media (US and Canada). Throughout the forum there's several short interviews we have discussed from that era. When I have a little more time on my hands, I'll try and organize them for you.

I am actually aware of this, since it's about all I could find in relation to this specific concert. It seems he also acquired a Dig Your Own Hole shirt, so it seems he chose to get both at the same time. It's very interesting that mine comes from the same concert. The Setting Sun shirt is a really cool shirt!

Thank you so much about the interviews, I would really appreciate that!

I don't have anything to offer, but am very curious how you achieved this!

There was a video posted online which leads me to believe the OG guy is a Colorado native, so that's my most educated guess looking at the concert map from that time period. Although I'm interested in that tour in general regardless of the area haha. He met up with the guy I bought it from in person, in Colorado as well to sell him the shirts.

His eyes were lighting up when he held his Dig Your Own Hole shirt up to show the guy- I'd have loved to have experienced that. He clearly had some fun times there.

@BlockRockin97

have you seen "The Private Reels" tape? Most of it take place during the 1997 era:

By 1:50ish,  they're in America. The neon tunnel is at O'Hare airport in Chicago.

You can OWN this if you purchase the Singles 93-03 DVD. I do recommend tracking it down (and the Double CD too!). It's probably the best compilation of their more famous work.

Thank you so much! I hadn't! I'm enjoying digging into all of this, since the media side of this is new to me.

That's funny, because I actually favourited a listing with this DVD a few days ago. I need to look into the CD as well! The DVD seems to have a lot of really cool footage of their live performances too, I'm from the UK so the American venues really intrigue me.

A small update: I decided to get the DVD! I'm eagerly waiting for it to arrive.

Singles 93-03? Good choice, so much better than the Brotherhood DVD

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

Yes, now I'm even more excited haha. I can't find the Brotherhood DVD anywhere, does it have less content on or something?
