Just getting ahead of us almost certainly needing a designated place to talk about this beast.

Also, gonna re-post the radio edit (Is that still a thing?) because, having listened to it for the first time yesterday - it's actually really quite different! I definitely want to dig into it more. The vocal chop ups at the end, and the structure being a little condensed and switched around, is super interesting. I like both versions and they both have their own merits.

I have a rather meaningless question... what is being voiced in the background at 2:38 (album version)?

Is that "YAM-YAM" in various patterns? 



I used to work for a Korean family, and during peak holiday time the matriarch of the family would be kind enough to leave a envelope with a note for me at work indicating to purchase some lunch, and it included $10. I kid you not,  on the note she would draw a smiley kitty face and have the cat bubble quote "YAM-YAM".

I always thought this was a broken translation thing, for "YUM-YUM", but maybe "YAM-YAM" is a thing beyond being Tom's cat name?

Damn, now I wish I kept those notes, just to prove this coincidence.

If we're gonna post the short version and then talk about the album version, then we should probably post the album version here too.

And if we're gonna post the album version here, we should probably post the live version too - so that we can compare and contrast. I may have been a bit harsh on this track in my album review, but that's because I had heard the live version first and I love the whole freestlye synth thing going on here from around 3:30. It keeps my head busy - in a good way. Would love to get a professionally recorded version of this.

Agree with you Enjoyed that the radio/video edit does have some interesting re-edits going on. But ultimately it's too short for me. I imagine it would nonetheless be fun to get a masterclass from Tom in his RAR studio on how he re-edited his own track.

Yes Bosco it does sound like Aurora is saying "Yam". I'm guessing she was talking to the cat with the mic on, and Tom decided to use it. My knowledge of Korea/YamYam/Cats is zilch.
North Korea and Dogs on the other hand...Well a bunch of travel YouTubers went to run the North Korean (Pyonyang) marathon in March 2025 and they visited a library where there was a Dog book in the cookery section. Check out their various vids on YT; they're awesome! Yum Yum!
