I went to support my local record store today and pick up my copy of the album. I got bamboozled into getting the Deluxe Version (no regular versions to be found anywhere!) but not disappointed. Ended up chatting with the guy behind the checkout who told me a story about how he used to work at Tower Records and Blur had come in to play a show. Apparently at one point in the set, Damon threw up his first and shouted "Sean Connery is the best bond", and this guy at the music store happened to have a little Sean Connery collectors card or something in his pocket. So after the show he went to show it to Damon, and he invited him for a drink!

We ended up having a nice little chat about Bond movies; the lost 3rd Dalton movie, our reactions to Daniel Craig when that was announced. A real nice time!

ALSO. Turns out I was bamboozled online before as I went to go and try and find the bonus tracks on YouTube Music, and found some chanel that seemed to have the whole album. But listening to them, there was no Damon and they felt very throw away.
I popped disc 2 on in the car today... Totally different! I got freakin' AI tricked! They must have typed the name of the songs into some generator because the lyrics said the name of the track in there! Very weird time we're living in.

Finally, I'd like to also throw in The Moon Cave to the SNL requests. Thank you.

There is a moment at the end of "The Sweet Prince" where it just fades off into ambient static, only to cue in a gentle ukulele and abruptly ends. It sounds like it was meant to segue to "The Sad God" and I feel like this was a missed opportunity.

Or, am I misinterpreting the ending instrumental gesture of "The Sweet Prince". Since this seems to be based around his father's death, maybe it's his interpretation of the moment his Dad's life was physically slipping away on his death bed? Also, maybe the flute theme we hear throughout the album is symbolism for his soul?

Either way, this album is extremely heavy. A lot of grown-ass men are gonna be crying at their live shows, it's gonna be a peculiar scene.

I actually listened to it after eating some mushrooms Saturday night after work.  Listening to a beautiful and thoughtful album about death seemed like a way better time than paying attention to the latest in our stupid stupid reality.

Current Power Rankings:
9)Humanz (overstuffed, less is more)
8)The Fall (maybe more is more?)
7)The Now Now (this could easily be #6)
6)Song Machine (half is amazing, half less so. Unfocused but Aries alone is so good)
5)Cracker Island (tight and focused, just solid)
4)Gorillaz (the top 3 are so incredibly focused and fluid both musically and thematically so yeah)
3)The Mountain
2)Plastic Beach
1)Demon Days

Those top 3 are GOD TIER

and a US/Canada tour is announced with f***ing Deltron 3030 and Little Simz opening !

I wasn't planning on feeling compelled to see them live, but things have drastically changed. I fear to look at the price. Thankful their Chicago date isn't Riot Fest though!

Same!

Incredibly tempted though. Never been to the Moda Center here - this seems like a good excuse.

Plus, day before Halloween! Hell yeah.
