It HAS to be. The teaser video, a new profile photo on Facebook, which looks like a new press shot to me...

Very excited to hear this.

Yeah the new profile picture the other day made me start wondering...

but it is just going to be a remaster

I cannot let myself get excited....

even if they do reunite, they ain't hittin' these here united states.

Dude. They hit up the States a couple of times the last time they reunited. I saw them in SF. Boom.

Don't give up hope.

I'm hopeful for all of us.

Except that they'll tour in the summer and I wont be able to see them at Glastonbury or in the states :(

Post by: neorev on Feb 01, 2017, 06:00
I hope it's not just a straight up remaster of an older album. It would be cool to do a Greatest Hits reworked collection. Take classic tracks and give them a 2017 spin into something new, such as how how Beezledub shares elements of Satan. But I'm hoping for new music or a new album.

I know I should be pleased, and I know ths will sound cynical... But I can't help thinking that the disastrous ticket sales for Paul Hartnoll's solo tour have prompted him to think again. I'm not sure that's the best reason for an act to reform. I seem to remember Paul saying how it was difficult to keep making it work between the two of them.
Paul has always struck me as the "Tom Rowlands" of the band, I don't know how much influence his brother has on Orbital's sound. BUt I will admit that 8:58 was not as good as Wonky, so maybe Phil does make a difference. Still not clear if there will be new music, but there will be live dates:

Yes!!!!

I'll travel for this if I have to. But I'll give them some time to announce more dates before booking anything.

Man, what if they played the Metro?

Absolutely not. Paul's been doing fine for himself, it's not money driven. If anything it's his desire to get back to a more straight-forward electronic dance sound, something he's wanted to do since 8:58, tried bizzarely with Vince, but hasn't been able to do under any other moniker (cause who the hell is Paul Hartnoll?).

The two times they've broken up, Paul's immediately turned around and done a very artsy solo album, done soundtrack work, all high on creativity but low on danceability. Phil's a lot more grounded and sticks to more festival friendly material, which is really important to their formula - he brings the focus! Personal differences left aside, Paul's a bit of a control freak, and when he can't get Phil to go off on a really artsy bend, things go sideways. And Paul seems to have addressed this ("Phil isn't me") in their reunion press release, so I can't imagine this being for the wrong reasons.

Demf or North Coast?
Title: Re: Orbital
Post by: Bosco on Feb 03, 2017, 03:48
I would guess neither. DEMF would be a good fit, but I think its too soon for them. Apart from when The Chemical Brothers have played, I think North Coast is kind of a joke.

Watch out for this: http://www.dayfornight.io/

Wanted to go this past year for Aphex and the other numerous rare acts , but holiday season is brutal for my schedule.

Really great to hear that Orbital are back to play shows and record new material,  didn't think this would happen, definately gonna go see them this time around. Their 2012 shows were looking and sounding so good then it all stopped. I've liked Paul Hartnoll's solo projects and collaborations since then and would've gone to see him perform but he only put out a couple of low key appearances. Now we have the original back together, yessss, Where is it Going...? I can only imagine somewhere highly creative and exciting. . . ! ! !

This isn't PHUK (https://youtu.be/2TTxRnQ-dQE?t=1s) that got mentioned in Now Playing. It appears to be Copenhagen.

https://twitter.com/orbitalband/status/964484931073212416

But they already gave us that track as a free download. So what's on this record?

https://twitter.com/orbitalband/status/966372314551078917

I see Orbital are selling recordings of (all) three of their December 2017 gigs on Vinyl, CD and Download HERE (https://orbital.pmstores.co/?token=65f7e24418bf47921c7d9a727f73faa351eee72e).
Not especially cheap (bundles costing £80 - ouch). But I guess a double CD for £20 is ok. These guys supposedly inspired the Chems live experience with an early big Glasto performance. Now they need to inspire them to release live recordings.

Tweets didn't embed because: emojis.

Just two shows in December, actually.

If you're picking one or the other, the Manchester one is best - longer jammier performances. London has the extra Doctor Who encore, but the rest of the songs were played shorter to fit the encore in.

Deciding to post this here, since I'm a tiny bit more excited for Orbital's set - last Friday I decided completely last minute to fly out to the UK for the BBC Biggest Weekend Festival next weekend. Most all details are sorted, and I'm getting my passport expedited in Chicago this Thursday.

SEEING ORBITAL AND UNDERWORLD ON THE SAME WEEKEND

PLUS A BUNCH OF OTHER GREAT ACTS ON THE LINEUP

And (probably) Leftfield, Green Velvet, and Four Tet in Glasgow the following Sunday (http://www.riversidefestivalglasgow.com/) (ticket prices are high-ish and I'm kinda more excited to see Glasgow than Leftfield... prooooobably still going though).

Also have 3 full days in London before heading to Belfast Friday, and a day in Glasgow after Leftfield.

Cheap as hell no-luggage plane tickets, travelling with basically the clothes on my back, spending as little as humanly possible. Wife and I scored more summer school loans than we needed, so instead of sending it back I'm spending it here... I'll work it off later!

I'm fuckin pumped.

1. What should I see in London / Glasgow?

2. Music recommendations for travelling? Especially stuff that might thematically or incidentally connect to London and the UK? (bringing Dubnobasswithmyheadman for example, and giving Saint Etienne's So Tough a second shot)

I love stories of last minute travel plans like this. It reminds me of Darkstarexodus back in the day with his crazy little trips around the world.

Leftfield was great fun when I saw them for a short set at Coachella a while back. I would love to see them again. I've never seen Orbital or Underworld but both are on my bucket list, so I'm very envious.

Have a great time d00d!

Still hoping Orbital will make it over later in the year.

This Friday, P.H.U.K. is dropping!

A month or two back, Orbital shared some pics of them with The Prodigy. It made me hope something was in the works between these two. A remix, a collb, a tour... anything. The Prodigy are working on their next album, but I'm doubtful it will get released this year. Liam did mention something about a collaboration no one would expect. I know Liam is all about acid music lately. But who knows. Guess time will tell.

He actually has quite a few remix credits over the years, you'll find some surprising stuff in the link below. He was responsible for the extended mix of New Order's Singularity, did at least two remixes for Fluke and a mix of Mondo Grosso (Shinichi Osawa)'s Shinin, before Shinichi ever covered Star Guitar himself, and most weirdly, helped produce "Out of Control" by The Sunshine Underground, along with frequent Chems collaborator Seggs - and the song has absolutely nothing else to do with the Chems!

Orbital interviewed on BBC 6 Music Here. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00008bf) At 1hr 30 mins.
New Track "There Will Come A Time" with prof. Brian Cox is cheerful. He talks about how our atoms will carry no memories, no knowledge, how the sun will eventually cease to shine...Ultimately nothing will survive. Then asks "How does that make you feel?". Oh great Brian, thanks very much!

They talk about Theresa May "she's not a monster, she's an android!". Incidentally Enjoyed if you're reading this, some people have been calling her the Maybot for a while now (not the Theresa Bot). Just keeping you up to date on the lingo!

There's a bit of a cringe bit when they're asked how they collaborate/write their music. Because of course it's mostly Paul. I'm not sure I like the new single, The End Is Nigh. Hopefully some of the other stuff on the album will be better (like PHUK/PHUKU).

I am love the new Orbital album, bonus tracks and all
Title: Re: Orbital
Post by: WhiteNoise on Sep 14, 2018, 19:39
Fantastic album til the weak ending. I like The End is Nigh, but it's oddly placed and a step below how strong the rest of the album is (tracks 1-7 are really really good) and There Will Come a Time is just... disappointingly cheesy. The speech is a letdown, it tackles too much with too great certainty - if Brian said a lot less, he'd be saying a lot more, let's put it that way. Are We Here? makes me more inspired and awestruck about the universe / man's place in it and it barely has to say anything. I like the instrumental a lot more, but it also seems to end just a little too soon.

Enough negative - this album is fantastic. Monsters Exist and The Raid are fantastic dark electronic post-rock monsters, and they trade back and forth with the manic energy of Hoo Hoo Ha Ha and PHUK perfectly for the A-side. Tiny Foldable Cities, like Monsters Exist, sings like few other Orbital songs do, and brings the A-side to a really fitting close. Buried Deep Within / Vision OnE make for two really cool deep album cuts to carry it to the ending that should be just a bit better - Vision OnE in particular should be phenomenal live. The whole album is overwhelmingly synthy in a way Orbital hasn't been since their 2012 live sets and it's fantastic - I love the level of modulation on every detail across every song. And the newfound intricacy of drum pattern programming they're doing is great - it's enough to make sure the music stands up to modern cuts without sounding outdated. This album is a lot more mature than Wonky and feels like an even better extension of their sound than it.

The plethora of bonus tracks are fantastic too. Many of them could have been included on the album itself with no complaint from me. Kaiju, Fun With The System (literally this might be one of my favorite Orbital tracks of all time), Dressing up in Other People's Clothes and To Dream Again are all absolutely incredible tracks and I'm unbelievably shocked they're "just bonus tracks." They all absolutely deserve to be put out on their own companion EP or a few (like Kaiju and Analog Test) released as b-sides to existing singles. I'll probably end up making my own version of the album to flesh out the final half a bit better and include these tracks because the music on "CD2" is so unbelievably good.

All in all, even with the album being a bit flawed IMO I'm in love with the sound of this era of Orbital, they just seem so into it on every level, studio and live, and every bit sounds like Orbital, and how Orbital should sound in 2018. Orbital is back and it's like they never left.

I am loving the album. It's almost like a double album. But I actually prefer the instrumental of There Will Come A Time as well. It lets you really focus on the music and it feels more of an emotional ending. I also prefer P.H.U.K.U. over P.H.U.K. Shame it wasn't also included. It is nice that they gave a ton of bonus tracks, so simply make your own version of the album. TAH-DAH! All the bonus tracks are great, especially Dressing Up In Other People's Clothes and To Dream Again. I am in the midst of making my own playlist.

The HMV UK exclusive includes a third bonus disc with Copenhagen, Kinetic 2017, To Dream Again (Reoccurring Mix), and alternate version of Where Is It Going? (Live Style Mix) that is different from the version on the Where Is It Going? single.

Wonky is actually my favorite album. Fight me. Snivilisation and In Sides make up my top 3. But Monsters Exist is fighting its way into the top 3. It is that good.

Too bad Mixmag absolutely butchered their release day live performance that broadcasted on Facebook earlier. I hope Mixmag can somehow salvage it and post it on YouTube because it was an awesome show.  The brothers genuinely look happy together. You could feel the love between them and the crowd. But man did Mixmag f--k it up. Fire the sound guy.

In a live fan Q&A back in December 2017, Paul Hartnoll also said they plan to drop another new album in 2019 while also celebrating their 30th anniversary. So it seems we have lots of Orbital to come.

Will join you in fighting anyone who says Wonky isn't a good album either, I love it - my complaint was mainly that it doesn't sound like Orbital quite as much as Monsters Exist does. The "dubstep" parts of it felt a little awkward yto me (though Distractions is absolute fire and I can't believe they never played it live) whereas all the new stuff Orbital does on Monsters Exist just sound like a natural extension.

Despite the FX returns being mixed absurdly too high (which eh, sounds cool in of itself but does NOT make for a smooth sounding mix) I love this set so much. Orbital is having fun with their gear and they're improvising so much more than it feels like they ever did. So much synth tweaking.

Watching their interview on Facebook right now.

Live dates in December in the US. Brooklyn and LA so far. Possibly 1 or two others...

Haven't listened to the album yet because I suck and have been busy and want to dedicate the full amount of uninterrupted time to listen. Hopefully this afternoon after my run. Very excited though!

Suprised nobody mentioned this wonderful breaks version of PHUK(U) yet. The beat pattern could have a bit more variations but other than that it's amazing.

I love Orbital so much. Here they come and improve on their lead single P.H.U.K. with an alternate mix "P.H.U.K.U." (Please Help United Kingdom, Urgent). Which is featuring on a real proper upcoming single release alongside another remix by the one and only Steve Dub!

Ive only listened to the album once, but so far nothing gives me more enjoyment than P.H.U.K.U. - which isn't on the album.

12/4/2018 - Brooklyn Steel, New York
12/6/2018 - The Midway SF, San Francisco
12/8/2018 - The Belasco, Los Angeles

and not coming to Chicago :'(

(may still try to make it out to one of these - all three are full headline shows, not festival sets)

Monster of a show. Impact > PHUK > Wonky is unbelievable, I cannot overstate how efficient that sequence is at driving you into an absolute 110% raving frenzy.

That's me in the Way Out shirt at 28:33 and 59:59 losing my dignity on BBC TV. Loved hearing The End is Nigh for the very first time live, getting to hear Belfast, in Belfast, and getting the Doctor encore which wasn't on the printed setlist. Paul snuck out side of stage to check out the crowd during changeover. I caught his eye and waved, and he gave a thumbs up! Not shown in this video was a huge tech breakdown between Wonky and Tiny Foldable Cities - I shouted "play Little Fluffy Clouds" during that.

Funny story - my face was plastered all over the giant screens to the side of stage too, which made me a minor celebrity at the end of the festival. Two local brothers recognized me on the way out of the fest and insisted I go out drinking with them after they found out I was travelling alone. Couldn't say no to that. Turned out to be fantastic people along with the friends they were with - talked with one of them about U2 for a solid hour, music and American culture with the rest of them for a long time - and got quite a few free drinks after we got on so well. Unfortunately I literally hadn't eaten anything since lunch so the 6 pints I had took the toll of 20, and to make a long story short - I've absolutely no memory of how I got back to the hostel, and absolutely no clue where in Belfast my glasses still are.

Beck, Manic Street Preachers, Courtney Barnett and Public Service Broadcasting were on before Orbital too, just a killer line up. My only regret is not snagging one of the lineup t-shirts!

Awesome story! Things like these are just the cherry on top of those experiences! Nothing better than unexpectedly meeting nice people like at the Chems gig in Gelsenkirchen with the forum gang and some strangers (or like recently, when I met an Texan American in our neighborhood while walking my sisters dog and we talked for almost half an hour) that make it all even more memorable.

Btw, just spotted you at 16:14 too :D

PPS: the only bad thing about this gig is Paul wearing a (Star Trek) Disco(very) shirt because that show is just an utter disappointment (oh, and that "Haven is a place" part is a bit out of place imo).

Nevermind the synths. Pay attention to the whiteboard on the wall - there's notes on their live set and for their next album Orbital 30, which they've been talking about recently. It's planned to be a 30th anniversary compilation of new "live style" versions of all their classic tracks, and remixes from their contemporaries...

...listed on that board are Underworld, Aphex Twin, Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers, Utah Saints, The Prodigy, and (more of a newcomer) Bicep. Edit: and David Holmes and Vince Clarke

It's a fucking good time to be an Orbital fan.

I didn't get it.
"Just" was probably my fave dance/electronic track of 2015*. I posted it more than once in the early pages of "Now Playing" on this here 'new' forum (reply #2 and #3 on page 1!). Then I saw great reviews for the album and I got excited. Then I heard the album and... fell asleep. Wanted it to be good. Didn't dislike it, just didn't feel inspired to listen to it more than a couple of times. Maybe I'll try it again some time.

Wow! What a show! Just got back. Orbital played 2 hours! The sound was great, really loud and lots of bass. The crowd was going insane and the Hartnoll brothers looked really into it and jammed a little bit when things were really going off. After Doctor? they asked if we wanted one more. Lush came on and they did an awesome jam out at the end. The whole place was wild and cheering at all the big moments. Paul got on the mic at the end and was like "Bloody hell! We really gotta come back here again. Who knew Brooklyn is this crazy?"

Intro w/ Professor Brian Cox
Monsters Exist
There Will Come a Time (We All Die Remix)
Impact
P.H.U.K.
Wonky
Tiny Foldable Cities
Satan
Hoo Hoo Ha Ha
Halcyon + On + On
Vision OnE
Belfast
Chime
Where Is It Going?
The End Is Nigh
Doctor?
Lush

I recorded some clips and took a few pics. Will post later, too tired after that. So happy I got to see them. If you have not seen them live, definitely go do it. They are powerful live.

Post by: MadPooter on Dec 13, 2018, 04:58
Since my cohorts aren't going to step up and post in detail, I'll do it.

First, the San Francisco show last Thursday.

It was a day that I had been waiting for for quite some time--the chance to see Orbital again after like 8 years. And it was turning out to be an extraordinary gathering.

Incidentally, we had people coming from Toronto (though indirectly), Portland, and Chicago. So it was at least a little significant with the idea of people coming from far away to see the show.

I headed to pick up Androidgeoff and Enjoyed from the airport, and to my surprise and delight, Enjoyed had brought with him a big box of Voodoo doughnuts fresh from Portland. Like, holy shit--fresh doughnuts from Portland. God damn.

After piling in the car, our first stop was In n Out. Because God forbid people come to California and not eat fucking burgers from that joint (those are good burgers, Walter). I had to admire the animal-style fries Enjoyed managed to order.

There was a call for beer by Androidgeoff, so we headed over to Magnolia brewery in my neighborhood. This was kind of a historic move: Twelve years ago, Whirlygirl and TooMuchStash had accompanied me to that very same brewery the first time I met them.

After the beers were had, darkness started to set in and it was time to start slowly heading toward the venue. Ish.

We set out in my auto for the Mission district in San Francisco toward my buddy's place where the remainder of our attendees were gathering. We picked up my girlfriend on the way, and we ended up hanging out and making tea prior to the show.

The tea was special. It was very, very special. One could even say it had psychedelic qualities.

We had a vehicle that seated 5. And there were 6 of us. So we did what any self-respecting group of party-goers would do, and we piled in.

The venue was the Midway--a warehouse-esque (or literally a warehouse that has been outfitted with a bar and stage area) space in the industrial part of San Francisco. The closest more-well-known neighborhood is referred to as the "Dogpatch." Not really a tourist destination.

We managed to find a place to park in front of some dodgy textile business. It wasn't clear the car would not be towed. Probably a good bet it wasn't.

I felt the tea immediately on getting out of the car. And the tea wasn't alone. But the world seemed a little more wobbly. And cold.

But thankfully there was not a long walk, and before too long we found ourselves inside.

And I felt like I was so much cooler than I was walking into that place. It had an impressive amount of space, but it felt small. And it was all chic. And well lit.

The place wasn't packed and it never filled up, but there were nonetheless a lot of folks that came out for the show.

We watched with enthusiasm as Lee Coombs got the crowd moving before Orbital came on. And it was with little warning that a "loading" symbol appeared, lit on stage behind the equipment.

There was a relatively simplistic design to their stage set up this time around. But nonetheless, as the one "loading" symbol became three, everyone cheered. And anticipation filled the air.

As the boys came on and started to play their new album, everyone was so happy to see them that, honestly, I got the impression that it didn't matter what of their songs they played: everyone was extraordinarily happy to be seeing Orbital after so long.

The highlights for me were Where Is It Going and Halcyon + On + On. The latter because my girlfriend recognized the track from a mix I had made for her years ago, and she also loved the 80s tracks running through the live version. The former because I felt a rather strong emotional connection to the track--it's nothing but positivity.

The one common consensus was that The End Is Nigh from the new album could have been left off the setlist. Enjoyable, but there was room for more older tracks.

Other than that, though--I love the fact that Paul and Phil were able to put on such an amazing performance despite decades passing in their careers.

Androidgeoff and Enjoyed are two of the most awesome folks to go to shows with, by the way. And you should be so lucky.

Unfortunately, Enjoyed claimed he had pressing issues back in Portland, so it left Androidgeoff and I to head down to Los Angeles to catch Orbital at a venue directly adjacent to the venue where Daft Punk recorded Alive 1997.

We had ourselves a rather short drive down the I-5, and we found ourselves at a beer store just before showtime. It all was rather seamless, actually.

I like that I got to know beers a little bit better in the last week, and I have Enjoyed and Androidgeoff to thank for that. And as Androidgeoff and I were enjoying our beers, incidentally, other Oribtal concert-goers ended up sharing a beer with us as well, as we were only a block away from the venue.

There was a certain camaraderie that was present at the LA show that I didn't get at the SF show. The people there were... obviously fucking dedicated.

It felt *AMAZING* to be a part of that dedicated energy. I loved every moment of the LA show and I actually was brought to tears a number of times during the show. Always a little awkward to have to take a moment for myself to get things the fuck together so I can just dance with the rest of the dorks.

The setlist was the same, but I could feel the energy in the crowd much more intensely. And it was weird, because honestly I was a little exhausted. But I had such a surge of intensity during that show that I don't know how to explain. I would have made that drive again to see that show in a heartbeat.

I am so thankful that everything worked out for the trip to see both shows--it was a decent reminder that someone, somewhere, is tending the light at the end of the tunnel. There was magic at every turn, and sparks shooting from unexpected places.

Thanks to Androidgeoff and Enjoyed for being such amazing companions. I keep being reminded that the people on this forum are, in fact, just fucking awesome.

And underneath it all, it was a glimpse at how amazing the trip in May is going to be for many of us as we catch the Chemical Brothers at 3 shows up the California coastline.

God bless you all and to all a good night.

Orbital's last concert of the year was at Manchester O2 Apollo (uk) , a grade II listed building with capacity of 3500 , . . awesome sound-system at this venue , . . nice & loud with deep bass (that you feel as well as hear). Intro done and 3 tracks into the set Orbital upped the bpm with Impact into PHUK into Wonky into Tiny Foldable Cities which sounded immense with its sonic-soundscape effect and sprawling metropolis visuals. Next up , Satan , so good live , pretty heavy . . so they lightened the mood after with Hoo Hoo Ha Ha and finished with Vision OnE . . great new track off latest album.

Encore was an awesome version of Doctor ? into Chime . . this still sounds fantastic , then , as they dismantled Chime the high-pitched notes of Where is it Going came in with perfectly matched visuals of the spinning planetary systems and universe explosions (from the One-Big Moment visuals 2012 tour) . . just mesmerising ,  at certain points it looked like Orbital and their Synth-rig  were travelling through time & space itself , clever stuff. Really glad the Hartnoll brothers settled their differences and got Orbital working again to make music , tour and bring the spectacle to the people. Catch them if you can , recommended.

Absolutely legendary house and techno lineup for Movement this year. Unbelievably good. Might try to go myself if I'm not on the other side of the country!

@Planet Dust - don't sleep on Amelie Lens, Maya Jane Coles, Sterac, or Wajatta (Reggie Watts and John Tejada doing improvised acid rave live!)

Lineup for Monday's incredible too. Audion, Chris Lake, Green Velvet & Claude Vonstroke, Golf Clap, Griz, Mathew Jonson.

Oh Look, on Monday it's Heidi. She used to serve me in Phonica records. Always very patient when I came in with my crappy little lists. Then she moved to Berlin.

Artists that catch my eye at that festival are
Sat: LSD featuring Luke Slater.
         Josh Wink
Carl Craig (I once saw him do a weird "live techno/jazz" performance with a full band including a brass section).
Sun: Dubfire (Deep Dish)
          Kevin Saunderson (the legendary!)
          Richie Hawtin
Mon: What WN said (well, except Chris Lake who can be a bit too cheesy/poppy. On the one hand he's worked with Green Velvet on the other hand he's worked with that cake throwing dick Aoki).

Wajatta was just an absolute blast!

Orbital was soooooo freaking good.  As much as I would've to have heard some Snivalization (no way), In Sides (seriously), or The Middle Of Nowhere (criminally underrated), this was such an amazing set.  I was so into the moment and my, uh, vibe atm, that I actually forgot about the breakdown during "Halcyon" when it dropped.

Uggh.

Brings shivers of joy to read other people having such a good time at Orbital shows still.

Loved their set from December and can't wait to see them again.

Paul gives a studio tour:

...

David Holmes remix/rework of Belfast exists.

Is this better than the original? I don't think so. It's nice but it's like a dub or something.

Orbital's looking to participate in Tim's Listening Party, held a poll on whether they should do Insides or Brown Album - and it virtually tied.

Ed voted Brown

Ah Orbital 30. Anyone remember this? Looks like it's kinda happening now.

The David Holmes remix of Belfast appeared in a Justin Robertson radio show in April 2020. You can fnd that show Here. (https://www.mixcloud.com/sohoradio/the-rotating-institute-with-justin-08042020/) The final 8 minutes of the show (1:52 onwards) feature the track, although it remains unreleased. However we have a couple of new Belfast remixes now, just released:

well Orbital now have two US dates announced, one month apart on opposite coasts.

sept 24/25 CRSSD in San Diego
oct 22 III Points in Miami

close enough to generate hope for more dates in between. yet far enough apart that they might feasibly go home and come back again.

sigh.

Ok, the compilation was realeased nearly a whole week ago and omg, as much as I wish there was a lot more of those self-reworks, the ones we've got are pretty solid, with Impact being absolutely the best version to date, period.
Two new trax in form of Smiley and Acid Horse could easily go onto the next Orbital album and the remixes are pretty solid too, just wish there was something else, than like 5 different mixes of Belfast.
But the compilation itself is dope, just dope.

Kinda digging the Sleaford Mods feature. I also ended up a big fan of 'Head And Shoulders' after being a little hesitant to begin with.
I think Sleaford is just such a unique vibe to work with, I find it really interesting how different producers build their sound around them. And, let's be honest, the subject material is VERY Orbital right now.

Definitely excited for the rest of the album.

No one talking about the new album!?

I prefer it to Monsters Exist. Thoroughly enjoying my first listen through.

Also, for the Dirty Rat non-enjoyers; there's an instrumental on the bonus disc ;)

I'm trying to share this absolutely stunning track that's on the bonus disc... but it is legitimately NOWHERE to be found (or I suddenly am incapable of using the internet, which is possible!)

If anyone can find it, please post to share. It's a beauty.

"Oxygene (featuring Clou) (Extended Version)"

EDIT: I'm trolling. It's a different version of 'Are You Alive?' but with French lyrics. I guess I didn't realise how deeply my soul responds to singing in French compared to English. This version is so good, you guys!

Somehow forgot they released a new album. Going to check it out.

By the way, could video be using the instrumental or is it just an edit with the vocals suppressed?

By the way, what kind of format do you have with this instrumental on?
There are like two versions on Discogs

And a limited edition with an entire bonus disc full of instrumentals

But I also tracked down the three bonus tracks that are on this version (https://www.discogs.com/release/26141603-Orbital-Optical-Delusion).

And that track with Clou is just sublime.

Definitely know what you mean - with the exception of TMON which I do think is an all-round great album journey.

This one is a little less connected, but there's also a lot less filler than I'd usually expect (and for some reason be OK with) on a regular Orbital album.

Did I mention how good Oxygene is?
