I'm in.
I'm very excited. I can't wait.
I suspect this will be a Hyde Park affair? That'd mean noise limits I imagine...
:) Great news , really excited for new shows 2016 , i'm in :)
I would love to work out a trip to London.
Just have to:
1. Get passport
2. Get money to go across the sea.
3. Find a place to stay.
I'm going to begin the speculation as to where, they have never done pre registration before and it's a sign of there popularity, therefore I think it will be a really big or special venue...
Albert Hall
Alexandra Palace
Olympia
Wembley Arena
Emirates
Somerset House

I could also be the other way around. They put up a pre registration cause they are playing a small veneu despite of their popularity and there will be limited tickets available.
Options could be
Brixton
Fabric
Roundhouse
I think the new Olympic park maybe
I'm in too. Time to save some money for the trip :-)
Hopeffuly it will take place in a small venue. Roundhouse was a blast 5 years ago!
Hyde Park
This trip could be sooo expensive, and visas.. But.. I will try, i'm in!
Yeah, I am going to go broke for this one. It will be worth it.
Pooter, whirly, Biff, KNE. You all should come, too!
I'll definitely try to come. I really want to go back to London ;D

I think Brixton and Roundhouse are feasible. Fabric is not big enough for the live show, I doubt the gear would fit on either stage in room 1 or 2, plus the robots wouldn't fit. A dj set in the spring at the venue could happen.
Plenty of time :'( see what I can do. I will start practicing how to pan handle when it's all over.
I could be a Chemical Brothers carnaval. A "Don't Think/Born in the Echoes" live experience.
At this carnival there will be:
- The EML ritual ride: a human human centrifuge with personal video feed
- Go roller experience: a spin on laser game where you have to avoid vertical laser beams on rollerskates
- Saturate Pong: like table tennis only with 1mtr diameter green and yellow balloons
- Horse Power rodeo: with a mechanical bull shaped as an abstract horse
- Swoon trampoline: where you can fly like de characters in de video
There will also be projection insects crawling around the terrain and multiple clowns with gaps between their front teeth.
At the end of each night there is a live extravaganza with an army of laser eyed robots.
Anyhow, I'm there!!!
And free Jerk Chicken (Steve dub style) for everyone

I can try but I cant make promises!
I'll try too! Money is meant to spent, right? Will see what we can pull together... This has the potential to be a huge forum meetup!
I definitely get the feeling this is going to be something special. Something bigger than a live show.
I definitely try to go! I've never been to Europe, the perfect excuse for a trip!
It would be so awesome to have a big forum meetup, with people from all around the world :D

The ultimate meetup! I could just imagine how long were gonna be up talking about last night's show while eating breakfast. Btw, I know when there's a meetup, we kind of go around and give our first names, but i might accidently call you by your forum username :) it happens!

I'll ask tom! I'm sure he has room in his studio. We'll sleep on the floor!
We should get a roll call going for it,
I am 100% going, no matter where it is or how much it costs, i will be there!
as for venue, i wasnt at the olympia, so id love it to be there, but they tend to do big shows in different venues. Hyde park will be shit, awful sound and shit venue set up. it could be a few nights in the roundhouse, but thats been done. i doubt it will be an outdoor venue like the olympic stadium, could be somewhere like battersea power station or trafalger square again?
It would be cool to see the Chemical Brothers....

on the synthesizers. You wouldn't be able to drag us away.
His house and studio in Lewes, are you sure? =)
This will be a priority for 2016, for sure...
I can't decide to either go to US for the first time or go back to London/Paris again next year. Maybe this is a sign? How keen is everyone?
Ok! I think the tour will start maybe around spring and toward summer. If I save now ( and no pending and future financial disturbances) I might be able to pay for my trip including hotel. I have now established a 'Chems London 2016 fund' ! I have 10.82 saved up now! :)
Im also going back to school in 2016, so I hope my schedule doesn't land on a specific tour date.
Lots to talk about later since no tour dates haven't been announced!
Almost certainly Hyde Park. The new setup there is quite good now, sound wise. Much better than the previous promoters. They pointed the speakers away from the rich people's houses, so they could turn the volume up.
Downside of Hyde Park is the curfew - still light at that time of the year, so you wouldn't get the full effect of the visuals. Even with the improvements, I've still heard that sound quality - or at least the volume level - leaves a lot to be desired...
Im in, and coming from Canada, would be cool to have a huge international meetup for sure!
;D yes ;D
Hope it's not a too big venue, Roundhouse would be absolutely amazing.
International forum meetup? I'm in!
Just a thought: Maybe we'll get some info on the Live event at tomorrows radio show.
Man, I'd love to go there! Let's see if it's doable. Does anyone know for how long you'll be able to register? And how does this work anyway? Do you win tickets like the Apple concert or you're just given the option to buy one when registered?
Btw, I love this picture for this tour:

HI There, I'm new to the forum.
Registered for tickets this weekend.......very very excited! It would be great if the live show would be outdoors
Welcome Gracey!
It absolutely would be great.
The robots are adventuring outside... let's hope that's a sign!
I bbloody hope its indoors!
Anyway find out soon, full announcement 25 th January
Do you think 25th Jan is just an announcement or general sales of tickets?
I'm out of the country until 26th :/
Just an announcement.
Full dates, line up, venue, date for ticket sale.
I certainly expect at least.

Thanks Enjoyed! Could be a sign, I didn't even analyse the poster that much. I was too excited at the thought of them playing live this Summer.....so what's the inside news, we're going to have an announcement on the 25th January ??
The Anticipation is KILLING ME!
This is going to be the forum gathering I've dreamed of since 2005.
You're all coming.
Start saving.
I'll buy you all Hula Hoops.
So from what people can tell the gig is going to be at SW4 Festival on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday.
I have heard nothing but bad things about the sound at the festival so I'm hoping the info is wrong, evidence being that the website being used for the Chems presale sign up is owned and managed by Lock n Load events who put on SW4 and the marketing strategy is a mirror of the one employed for the Faithless show last year - pre-sale tickets on sale on Wednesday.
Shit I think that last person might be right... Mmm SW4 been promising a big announcement
(http://www.arabianbusiness.com/skins/ab.main/gfx/loading_spinner.gif)
More proof/hints this will be at SW4: There is unused code in the site source that leads to this video (http://"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C4NqtRIL-w") announcing Above and Beyond's 2014 SW4 appearance.
I'm guessing they're going to put a Chems announcement video in its place and activate it when they announce (in 7 hours).
The evidence would suggest SW4, if so slightly disappointed as its not the best sound. Having said that lock and load put on some good parties such as Together.
2016 Meetup woopwoop
It's sw4 it says so on there website now
http://www.southwestfour.com
Pretty anti climactic. The rest of the line up is not really exciting...
Hmmm
I've never been disappointed with a Sasha set.
And Hunter/Game is on Last Night on Earth, which is a top label.
Booka are fun too...
I really was hoping for just a Chems show with some top support. Alas.
I've been to SW4, the line up is not complete and they will have some more decent djs, Sven and Sasha are top notched. My only beef is that the festival is close to a residential area, therefore sound is restricted and it's simply not loud enough.
I'm starting to think we're not getting an arena tour this year :-\

So far it's just SW4! Is that it? Where the rest of the tour dates or is it still early to announce?
Bummer. I'm not sure I want to travel to London for a festival gig.
Is anyone else feeling a little disappointed?? Unless there's some individual gigs lined up, I'm totally gutted at this announcement. Do I bite the bullet and just pay the £60 quid and rub shoulders with kids who listen to "tropical house", or wait to see if more dates are announced??
Im kind of dissapointed, i would have loved an arena show of Just them, maybe then i would travel across the ocean for this. Im still holding out for a full tour announcement though.......fingers crossed.

And another festival in Portugal
Yeah I'm really bummed too. If this were something like Olympia 08 or just a proper headline show, not something at a festival where I have to pay for 50 other acts, I'd be far more interested in putting the money down for a trip, but... yeah I doubt I can afford to do this two summers in a row.
Fingers still crossed for a non-festival show. I guess we'll see. Still massively want the forum meetup of the century to happen. But IMO it's got to be over something better than this! More time to save up for it then...
They did not announce summer/fall dates until like April last year, right?
It is just January.
I was also hoping this was going to be a solo show with chem bros performing w/ Beck for a song. Nonetheless, I have never been across the ocean and this is my opportunity.
Im going to the NOS festival :) Nice roadtrip from Amsterdam to Lisbon with friends :) Hell yeah!!
I wonder how feasible it would be to go to Portugal as well

Flights to Lisbon are pretty cheap (relatively) since Lisbon's geographically one of the closest cities to America. An airline called SATA International flies from Boston to Lisbon and stops between in the Azore Islands, which is a beautiful place to have a stopover, and you can schedule it so you have the entire day there. Good airline too. And then once you're in Lisbon you can go to London for cheap via Ryanair or Megabus, just plan it ahead of time.
Go to Lisbon, I really enjoyed it there!
£60 is the pre sale cost, it's quite pricey and this will go up.
Will think long and hard about this one
Just bought my tickets for the NOS festival! No London for me... Lisbon it is!!

Not much thinking needed for this one unfortunately
Unless the rest of the lineup has LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead or Gorillaz, I think I'll pass
This is a real dissapointment. I love the anouncement visuals of the wandering robots. The SW4 visual of cheering robots is cool too. There was a build up to an exclusive Chemical Brothers show. I myself was thinking it would be a festival run by the Brothers much like Prodigys World on Fire festival.
I don't like festivals so I won't be atending

I'm with you on that one... Chems with LCD or Underworld would do it for me... A tad disappointed this evening.
Same here, I am going to wait for their own show, not a festival.
I'm thinking this may be more of an Underworld year.
*waits patiently for Glastonbury announcement*
No solo show?
Hmm
I just looked at the date
unfortunately it is probably impossible for me to get off of work at any point near that date...
I'm dissapointed. I thought it will be something like Chems big essential show, but this is just a festival((
I'm pass. Maybe there still a chance to Russian show date.
I had high hopes of something really special like Hyde Park, Wembley or even something super corporate like a few consecutive nights at The O2. This would have suited some of the last album's press and interview chatter about how far the guys have come, how the album could be a nice closing point on the band etc.
So I too am quite disappointed by this. I've been to SW4 a couple of times. It's okay... It is what you make of it... I went with a big crew last year for Faithless. I have never in my life experienced such a forgettable set and bemused audience. The sound levels were really quiet and it felt like watching a boring screensaver from 300m back. You could almost see a collective shrug of shoulders as it ended.
What do we think the chances of standalone Chem Bros. dates are? I guess they're contractually obliged to only PR this for a while, and whatever else they've got in the diaries for this Summer... There's surely enough hunger from the general public, besides us nuts, to merit an Earls Court or Brixton affair.
My decision is, do I just go along with this SW4 malarkey so I definitely see the current show, or hold out for something better and risk never seeing this album toured.
Please don't mention "closing point on the band" or anything related to that again. The thought makes me sick.
They usually tour Australia but I think for the first time it seems they don't seem to plan to tour with this album down here. I don't mind if they don't as the live set this time around isn't different enough compared to the don't think tour.
With all thats happened to them during this era of a new album release, with a close friend passing, Ed with other commitments and probably the pressures of getting all this done to make the corporates/music industry folk happy. Its a job done well still.
I would have thought SW4 would be Chems 2016 LDN exclusive but last year Faithless played a few Alexandra Palace shows as well so who knows..
They might be busy with the score for Trespass Against Us, maybe that's why there is no arena tour planned for the beginning of 2016... So, maybe a few festivals this summer then a proper tour from september to 2017 ?

I'm feeling your pain TeeDubyaE1, I'm really torn on waiting to see if exclusive tour dates are released or going along to the festival. I really don't want to pay £60 to go to a festival just to see one band. I would rather pay £60 for an exclusive date and much better support acts....... I'm desperate to see CB live and also the latest light show, but I really don't fancy the audience at SW4 either

What does "Above & Beyond" on the poster mean? Is that SW4s slogan or does it imply an above and beyond Chemical experience?
Also, it's weird the Chemical Brothers are used/have offered themselves to be the main promotion force of the SW4 festival, which hasn't build much credit reading peoples experiences. Or does it mean it will be loud(er) this time because the Brothers always play LOUD.

They don't address the fact that they are still in a residential area though and restricted by local noise level laws.
So, guys, I'm so wary to purchase tickets for the London show. Until now i'm considering to look up various options for shows in Europe. Because for now UK is difficult for visas and so expensive. What should i have do?

I don't remember but I think it was in an email they sent out to everyone who pre registered. It's legitimate. I think I actually first saw it on the Brotherhood group.
Does anyone has any idea what those "very special extras" could be?
Because all the negative respons on the festival I'm not confinced to go to that festival with Pukkelpop nearby as a good (and much cheaper) option.
Will the set-up for this London festival show by any different than the Belgium show 9 days earlier? (or any other festival show this summer)
I bet the extras are going to be the bots. Maybe there will be a surprise Beck and St. Vincent, but...
Wide Open Under Neon Lights performance, featuring visuals of Josh Smith's teammates calling for the ball as he bricks another ill-advised 3. The kicker is they swap who sings which song. Adam Smith told me all of this in a dream.

Would be nice, but I think it's very wishful thinking I'm afraid.
So...I just booked a ticket.
I will be flying into LGW from Berlin at 2:00PM, hopefully heading directly to my mates in Peckham to drop off bags, hike it over to Clapham Common, have a dance, hopefully meet up with a few of you (and secretly hoping T&E), and then to STN to catch a 6:00AM flight to Dublin because I have a flight back to the US at 10:00AM. And technically my first class starts that night (though they already know I won't be there).

Curious if there will be anything special about this show. Let us know. Enjoy everyone who's going
These fucking fake live stream videos on YouTube are fucking cancer. They've been popping for literally every fucking show of any fucking band. It makes finding actual videos from the shows so much more difficult...
Yeah, saw those popping up with Pukkelpop.
So no reviews yet on the SW4 gig?
I'll be honest, I'm disappointed with the lack of noise this thread has gotten. This show was hyped since the beginning of the year wasn't it?
Has the show "jumped the shark"?
That being said, I'm glad to see you made the journey Rynostar.
A friend who went said the sound was very low, the set was short and the crowd were a bit off :/
Yes, I made it. Yes, it ended up being an insane journey. Yes, it's been a few days so this review may be a bit off.
Got to Clapham Common around 7:00 after running a few errands upon getting into London. Had been in contact Ben (Surface) and Joseph (Foxboy) via facebook msg trying to coordinate meetup. Found out that plan went mostly to hell as my data wasn't picking up anything with so many others using data all around the place. Walked around the site and got the typical London festival vibe; everyone on something, most people just chatting/noshing within their own groups, queues for certain foods but not others, bad overpriced cider/beer sold at the bars, cloudy but not necessarily rainy. Was famished so I grabbed haggis and walked around to different tents trying to see if I could somehow guess who Foxboy and surface were (have never met either in real life). Checked out a bit of the Above & Beyond set, didn't expect to like it, surprised by a few tracks, then they played a bad remix of Porcelain...nope, I'm out. Get word that Foxboy is almost there around 8:45. Walk towards main gate, see a ginger lad with an Irish flag as a cape and a chems logo shirt talking to another bloke. Wait, is that Foxboy? "Are you Foxboy? YOU ARE!!". Fox has clearly had a good weekend already (still jealous about Rock en Seine and Massive Attack) as he stumbles with me to the bar. Order a ton of (bad) cider for the set and stumble to the main stage. Talk about all y'all Forumies, how he's still not 100% on the leg from the Belfast gig, chems shows we've seen (Fox = 11, Ryno = 4), the insane journeys we've both done to see T&E.
We stand about 20 feet back back from the left of stage and right next to a heavy rubbish bin as Fox still needed support on the leg and as a way to stop flightpathers from cutting through us during the set. Relatively packed crowd around us
Memorable moments: Tomorrow Never Knows starts, we both start shouting incoherently out of tune. HBHG, again with the out of tune screeching, now add the dancing, for me at least. Go, still love Go in live setting as it builds and screeches. Star Guitar, Foxboy starts crying, I have a grin from ear to ear, to know that there is someone else in this world that has as much emotion as me with regards to Chems is just ;D. Setting Sun, screaming again. Robots...I mean, UTI, Hail To Our Robot Overloads. Seeing Ed again, much love for Adam but great to see our boy back (is he done his research yet?).
This was my second festival set in a row after Electric Zoo in NYC almost exactly a year ago. Crowd was a festival crowd, some excited, some too young, some too gone. Set was short but that made sense as SW4 has always had the curfew problems. Could have been a bit louder, but not a huge issue to me. Wish they would have kept Sunshine Underground in this years set but having watched the videos since Belfast I knew what to expect. Still secretly want to see TPPR as an encore live again one day. Disappointed that we weren't able to connect with Ben.
Foxboy suggested we head to Hydra in Shadwell afterwords. Hadn't been there before, but was surprised by it. Good vibe, met the tour manager of Above & Beyond, had a good dance. Then headed back to my hotel around 2:00AM where I ended up packing and going straight to Stansted to catch flights back to America (No sleep for Ryno).
Biggest takeaway from the adventure, This was my first chems show where I was there with a fourmie. I have met a few (Enjoyed and Gian) at other gigs, but never seeing Tom and Ed. The banter, the stories, the shared ecstasy, the connection. And of course...it's a chems show. Even bad chems show is a highlight for me.
Thanks for sharing Rynostar. Yeah, and I'll admit, I can't see myself attending a show without one of the crazies here on the forum. Even if it's the first time I meet them, by the end of the night they feel like family.
