Title: London Hammersmith Apollo 10th December
Post by: sneakerbeater on Aug 30, 2016, 10:51
Looks like at very long last we might be getting a UK tour, first tour since 2007 I believe?

Bring on a proper London Date!

Standing tickets already gone in the presale :/

Hopefully there are more London dates. I'd have thought they'd do a Wembley Arena or The O2.

Have the standing tickets made it on the presale?

Hmm, not sure.

Standing was listed but 'not available'.

It seems everything is sold-out  :(
By the way, do you know what is the seat plan of Apollo ?
I didn't know what to choose between the 2 seated categories and which circle ?
By the time I picked one randomly, no tickets were available anyway.

Oh well I'll try Friday. Plus I'm sure another London date or 2 will be added.

Seats are available again. Might be worth refreshing from time to time, maybe they are drip feeding the tickets

Hi Sneaker - took a bit of time (seemed to be buggy, but with see tickets I expect nothing less...) but eventually got my ticket for Glasgow. Would be nice to see them in the Apollo as well, but might be pushing my luck with the better half!

Standing tickets went almost instantly :(

Hopefully there's another date because I haven't seen this current show yet :(

Hi All

I have 3 tickets available for Sat 10th - to max our chances 2 of us bought tickets at the same time on pre-sale and were astounded to both get them. Sitting (but nobody will actually be sitting!) Block 1 row H 56-58, great overall view and sound. Paid £136.96 for all 3 so just looking to get that back and hope can sell to another fan.

Cheers

You alright mate. I seem to remember it was only last year we were all having ticket stress going to the chems. It always works out in the end!

I will be there on the Saturday.

Spotify is saying they've played Burst Generator between Wide Open and The Reel...

Spotify is wrong here:

The only sounds I hear between Wide Open and The Reel are whale mating calls.

Lets maks this a running joke! Everytime we post the tour setlist that contains WO and TPPR, we are to put *fuck yeah* in between! Kind of like an extra song.

_Yes_.

I remember someone describing the "bwoooh. bwoooh." pre-encore synth sound as a horny whale, and now nearly all my sets have that "encore break" track re-titled to Horny Whale.

Spotify is wrong
Certainly wrong about the Saturday where we had the "Japenese Encore" as I like to call it. I wasn't there on Sunday, but Setlist FM (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-chemical-brothers/2016/eventim-apollo-london-england-bfbd5fe.html) claims it happened.  I'm not sure that makes it true though. Someone recorded the whole gig from the upstairs balcony and dated it Sunday night. If this really is Sunday, then Setlist FM is wrong.

Thoughts on the gig: It was fine and I might be more excited if I hadn't been lucky enough to witness the itunes Roundhouse gig. But downstairs/standing was so packed there was no "raving room".
(You probably get more space upstairs at the Apollo but unless you're near the front you feel really removed from the gig).

There is encore on that video. The video is 1.5hrs because it is stripped of some parts

Edit: oh you meant burst generator. nevermind

Oh, I forgot that there were two gigs. However I still think it's unlikely that they played Burst Generator but would love to be proved wrong here. The song is amazing and they haven't played it for sooo long.

I was at the Sunday gig, and they played the same encore. Hold tight, into wide open, whale song (with probable fuck yeah!) into a bombastic rendition of the private pyschodelic reel to top it off.. brilliant night.
