Figured it's time to get this going so we don't clutter the other thread.
The Shrine looks like a really dope place for a concert. The setup reminds me of the tent stages at Coachella where it can get a bit narrow and cramped, but you definitely get a great feel from the vibe of the crowd. I think it's gonna be a wild one!

It's gonna be great. All GA with a better club vibe than the Greek obviously. The sound will be much better too, given the time and sound volume restrictions for houses near the Greek.
There's also a nice outdoor area to get some fresh air and have a toke. Saw Portishead here back in 2012 or so and it was fantastic. Can't wait for this one.
If anyone already has an extra ticket, please let me know.
You can now pull up specific seats in your desired location for The Greek show. Majority of the desirable seating are spoken for, but from what I see, there is a lot seats still available.
Where are the lurkers? I would expect them to post in here by now with their recently purchased tickets!
Ed or Tom gonna chime in again on about how to get the best sound again @ the Greek or any tidbits of info? (Ex: Hollywood Bowl)
Ok..... forum.... here we go!
Long time, no chat. I recently found out about the upcoming Cali shows and would love to make an appearance.
Will be doing this trip on my own, so looking for advice:
Which show should I go to -- if I only choose one (both are possible but not 100%)
Where should I get tickets if I choose the Greek, keeping in mind I'd love to hang with all of you?
Where should I stay in LA on a relatively cheap budget (this is an in/out, not a luxury getaway)
Currently looking at arriving on the Tuesday and leaving Friday afternoon.
Whirly, Pooter, Bosco, and everyone... the time has come to.... galvanize!
Hey dark! Welcome back!
Either the SF or the Shrine are the best choices because the ticket prices are set and cost less way more than the Greek!
The Greek show has tier pricing, meaning that if you wanna get up and personal to the stage, it's gonna cost an arm, whereas the farther your away from the stage, you'll pay less.
Oh and it's assigned seating too!
Quote from: inchemwetrust on Jan 31, 2019, 02:10

But still more than a GA ticket at The Shrine!
I've now booked flights and have ticket to Shrine. Going to also get ticket to Greek in the next couple days. It's on!
Haven't done this in awhile! ;D

I don't know about the rest of the out-of-towners, but I was potentially scouting out the janky motels on Hollywood blvd. One in particular looks bearable, and it's certainly at the right price.

^^ That's where I stayed!
First time back in America since I was a littl'un. Really bad ear ache from poor altitude adjustment, jet lagged, falling asleep in a bunk bed after downing a full bag of Chex Mix, a Whatchamacallit, and a grape ice tea that I bought from a 7-11. Talk about the American dream.
^^ It's time for you to toss that chex mix, toliet flush that Whatchamacallit, and pour the rest of that grape ice tea for your lost homies because no one should succumb and be comfined to the chains of a 7-11!
Not on my watch. No sir-eee!
Someone give this man a Baconator or I will!
Maybe all of us can have a good sit down dinner before the show!
If you're proposing Wendy's for dinner. I am in.
I am always in for my gurl Wendy.
I get pre-show jitters just being a spectator. There is no way I can stomach a Baconator let alone a hamburger before a Chems gig. That's why God invented Golden Nugget/ Waffle House.

Preshow jitters!
Usually the day before the show, I get some tea into my system to help me to relax before I hit the bed, kind of very hard to sleep cause of the excitement. Next day, I prepare! Big breakfast, get extra cash from the ATM, gas up the car, etc. Then a few hours before the show, the jitters kick in harder! First thing I wanna do is to make sure I take a crap. I don't want any bodily distractions during the show. When driving, im very cautious on the freeway because I don't want no bad luck accidents.
Oh, and a pack of gum... preferably cinnamon. Oh and a bag of cornnuts too!
Gonna be flying in Tuesday before the first showwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Got my shrine ticket but still waiting for the others.
...arriving at LAX at 11:00 am...
It's happening folks...
now need to set up hotel/airbnb/couch & way to get up to SF. Are people still interested in the carpool idea?
My plans are kind of up in the air - still going, but not sure if roadtripping out or flying. Should have them solid by the end of the week though!
And what an end to this week it'll be!
I am chiming in again because I am SO FREAKIN EXCITED!! I am totally down for grabbing a bite and perhaps a cocktail or two beforehand either show. See some old faces and meet new ones too after all this time. I would love to try making that happen.

Yes! Let's do this! I don't really care to much where we eat but as long as it's tasty! We can get in some good talks, do some group photos. A good place to start is to see when everyone touchs down in Los Angeles and gets settled in. ok so I called them (AXS) and they said the ticket was shipped on the 29th of last month. Why so late?
At the Greek, they want you to spend $599 for section AC (https://tix.axs.com/2L07CQAAAABUBKuUAQAAAAC9%2fv%2f%2f%2fwD%2f%2f%2f%2f%2fBXRoZW1lAP%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f%2f/shop/search/seat?skin=&tags=&q=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&p=78498279-9394-49f5-b9ed-8c9bdb906ad4&ts=1557742376&c=axs&e=26520324&rt=AfterEvent&h=a679ae8208c6ac6be97671c506cba570) (center front stage) and a minimum of two tickets for a total of $1,198? Yep! But there's plenty of tickets left right now (200+ tickets left when I counted seats on the axs website)
Gonna rain on Thursday too. Expected to clear up by noon!

It was soon after star guitar that all I kept saying for the rest of the gig was 'HOLY SHIT!!'

YES I NEED THE REEL!!!!!!!1
Hi all, posted occasionally over at the old forums and wanted to chime in about the new run of shows.
Happy to have made it to the event at the Shrine. Seriously great atmosphere, and it was great to -finally- get to a Chems show with an encore instead of being left wanting more after 75-80 minutes like at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010 and Coachella 2011 (well, I guess the latter was 50 minutes...freakin Kings of Leon). Was also the first time I've been able to see their live show in a more club-like atmosphere, and I feel like that's the optimal environment.
Personal highlights included the re-tweaked version of Dig Your Own Hole, the Eve visuals (not a big fan of the album version of the song, but I like the chopped up version they played live), Temptation/Star Guitar, Got Glint>Catch Me I'm Falling and (a bit surprisingly) Galvanize, which may have been the apex of the show, imo (just a potent moment of supreme fun, aided in part I think by the BPM slowdown). I do have a few nitpicky comments but I'll add those in the other thread.
Anwyay, just an all-around joyous occasion. Always so impressed with the lads' mastery of emotion-through-synthesizers. Hope the show at the Greek was fun!
