Title: Glastonbury 2015
Post by: Enjoyed on Jun 29, 2015, 18:02
Almost 24 hours on from the single greatest experience of my life so far.

I was going to write a big post about how the show affected me but I'm running on very little sleep at the moment so it'll have to wait for now.

Suffice it to say, I'm so glad I avoided all of the live clips being posted ALL OVER THE FACEBOOK PAGE (I had to unfollow to avoid the spoilers) because the moment that The Sunshine Underground started playing was so moving I had to stop and absorb the fact that it was really happening to me. It seemed like a lot of the people around me had a limited knowledge of the Chems' music, which selfishly made the whole experience a lot more magical and personal. And the inclusion of TSU and then Music: Response in the encore felt like a special intimate sonic hug from Tom directly to me.

Glastonbury is always an excellent weekend but I can honestly say that, with Leftfield on Saturday night playing 6/8 War and Afrika Shox and then The Chemical Brothers last night playing everything that they played, this year found my 13 year old self aligning with my 26 year old self to experience a uniquely pure joy.

Thank you Tom (and always in spirit, Ed).

I enjoyed the stream last night of the Glasto footage, but now have an intense motivation and a deep selfishness of waiting to see them. Looking forward to your review Enjoyed when you wake up. Avoiding all the social media before the show is VERY hard to do, but good for your overall experience last night.

Gutted that I won't catch the Chems this summer, but the  BBC footage was fab. Adam has done a great job.

Really enjoyed this set, certainly seemed quite tough, always got the impression that Tom likes the tougher side of things.

You're just great, Benji! Thanks a million 8)

Prestine quality, stellar set! Man, that gets me so excited - again!
There's this Chemical Glasto Review (http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jun/29/chemical-brothers-at-glastonbury-2015-review-dj-electronic) which has to take a heavy beating in the comment section. Wonder why :)

@Ben Glass: Rock'n Roll! That'll be awesome.

Don't you mock Tom's dad or uncle, Pumisher!

Btw, I really like how playful they are this time around (not that they hadn't been that way before). It's like Tom read through the forum1.0's live talk of ours where we were tossing ideas for future live sets around.

Full review still on its way BUT while I remember, some extra special treats came in the form of Scale and Seal (taken straight from When You Start Hating You're Out Of Control) being played while we were waiting for them to start!

This Glasto footage I tell you. I never seem to get enough of EML and Go. UTI on the other hand, I can listen to an 1 hour loop of it and not get bored. That tune can go on and on.

UTI has become a damn beast! It was one before, but now it's even "beastier". Don't get me started on the new vocoder improvs they do in their recent sets. That's nothing short of awesome.

Yeah! Noticed too. Want to know how they do it. Maybe some internal plugins at Logic.

Alright, here goes...

I've converted the audio from the BBC live recording into an mp3 album (from the High Quality recording). All the tracks play gapless in iTunes. If you want, you can download it from here: GO! (https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/0fafabf374f6f6a6a95443925d6727ee20150902082239/79cf54e1b1508d93963359b814cd2d8f20150902082239/94058b). The link will be valid till September 9.

Thanks to WhiteNoise for helping me tuning the tracklist  ;)

So , i'm thinking the Glastonbury 2015 footage by the BBC is the best professionally shot footage out there for The Chemical Brothers , so far , this year , . . I'm actually into this footage more so than the Don't Think movie / dvd.  Reasons being .. the Chems setlist 2015 is outstanding .. brilliant new songs like EML , GO , The Future , with equally brilliant visuals to compliment them. Then there's the tweeks of old favourites like Setting Sun/Out of Control  /Star Guitar/  Under the Influence , which has them sounding better than ever. Then , add to this the way the BBC edit and present the Glastonbury footage to us , they get it spot on by over-laying some of the visuals in-front of the live concert footage , it's all going off in a glorious way.

The only other bit of pro-shot TV footage i've seen on youtube is that bit from Summer Sonic 2015 with Go/Swoon :-/

Has anyone else spotted any other decent pro-shot TV footage on youtube yet from the Chems 2015 tour  ?
