Hey! Ive been harassing them on every social media platform there is since the conception of social media as they havent been back since social media even existed. I didnt even have a phone with a camera in 2002..
If any Canadians want to plan a trip together, let me know. My wife wont be going as she will be 9 months pregnant.
Ill go alone if i have to, but it would be cool to have a group train trip or flight out there and lodging together....PM me
NEW YORK AND CHICAGO WHEN?!
Oh man! Why is it so expensive to travel within Canada?! I can buy a return flight to London for less than it costs to fly across the country here.
And still no France :'(
its too early for an april fools joke!
wait a sec...

LOL i swear to god i thought it was a joke too, i had to read it several times and refresh the page to ensure i was seeing what I was seeing.
Hopefully they play a Toronto festival, Veld is the day before, so hopefully they get added to that. Otherwise im going to be travelling to Montreal while praying to god my wife doesnt give birth.
Hotel Booked. Not wasting time here.

Yeah, I reckon she would risk delivering it then and there... at a show like this :D
Glad you guys finally get a Canadian show!

That would be incredible if it were to happen while they were playing LOL
Happy for you Redout. This has definitely been a long time coming for the Canadian fans.

"It seems to me we both should hang around
And raise the population of this town"
:o :o :o
I'm confused...
and it's not because of the French...
Am I dreaming???
So...how many years since last show in Canada?

I came here to say just that. Been harassing them as well on Social Media. Can't believe they aren't coming through. How the hell did Lolla not book them?!?!

I suppose it's not out of the realm they add them late to the Lollapalooza lineup. I imagine Thursday of the festival is the weakest in attendance and individual day ticket sales. Could be a slight boost.
I don't know though dude. I despise that fest. Just like Coachella, it's a total shell of what it used to be/represent. But at least Coachella has a superb location, and the some of friendliest weather a festival attendee could ask for. To be honest I was a bit relieved they were not on the Lollapalooza lineup, and I'm dying here just like most of you for a Chicago date.
For what it's worth I delved into Chicago concert schedules and there is a lot of empty dates at all the usual suspected venues. Maybe an in-week type show before or after the Lolla shit-show and afterparties hit the Chicago scene? Either way, I'm pretty sure our time will come. I just wish it was more transparent.

loved that show
It definitely was amazing, ill never forget the blinking eyes during it began in africa.
I actually met Tom and Ed that day, and my experience was on the old site where it would share fan stories.
I had gone in the afternoon with intentions of meeting them, parked my car out back by hte loading trucks and i was literally there maybe 10 minutes and a Volkswagon Jetta pulled up next to my car with Tom in the Passenger Seat and Ed was laying across the back seat....needless to say I chatted a bit with them and they signed my CD and it was the greatest moment ever.
Until someone stole my signed cd a few years later......been waiting 17 years for another signature.....
Flights to Montreal...$600
Flights to LA & SF...$300
Still thinking about Montreal...
Plus, aren't most of the Canadians showing up to the LA & SF shows??? (Tim, Myself, anyone else???)

Right now I'm looking at London in May. Flights to Montreal are +$600 plus outrageous festival price, or flights to the UK for roughly $800 and cheaper show tix. Plus the All Points East Friday night has Primal Scream, Spiritualized and Hot Chip!

Keep in mind that day passes for Osheaga will be available, they always release them about 2 months before the festival, i guess they try to trick people in thinking there wont be any at first.
I myself am also holding out for another Canadian show, i have the montreal hotel booked but im not buying festival passes until i know for sure thats my only option.
I would love to go to the US shows, but unfortunately border patrol wont let me in....

Bummer!!
Yeah I know about the later release for single day passes but I don't remember seeing a single other act I'd be interested in, unlike the London show. My wife and I were already planning a trip to the UK this fall but decided we might just bump it up for this show. Ironically it was the Osheaga announcement that started it haha
Trying to stay optimistic... Been investigating the coordination of Osheaga and New York show. Amtrak (train) has the Adirondack line which will take you to and from New York and City to Montreal, all at totally reasonable price ($70!). It's also supposedly one of the most reputable and scenic amongst locomotive trip enthusiast. The downside being it's a 10.5 hour trip, which is a full day commitment. But the schedule between chems shows, August 1st and August 3rd, totally allows it.
That being said, fuck me, I hate the cost of a hotel.
Please pray for me that my daughter is born before the Aug 3rd.
these next 4 weeks are gonna be the longest ever. But if she comes and I get to see them chems after 17 years, ill be in heaven.

I'm not religious but I'll make an exception!
Dear Lord, I pray to you, please let his daughter come within the next 4 weeks. Let daughter and mother be healthy and wealthy and this nice Canadian chap be able to embark on his chemical pilgrimage on the Third of August. (
And while we're at it, I wouldn't say no to one more German gig, thank you!). A-man!

IL be there but coming in the afternoon should be there around 4 ish. Gonna at least see Rufus as well. Though I cannot really do much hanging out after the show since I have an early departure on Sunday.
I made it!!!!!! Just getting an Uber there now from my hotel. Drive took wayyyyyy longer than expected.
I can't believe it's happening.
Glad to hear that you are finally seeing a show.
Have fun!
Was totally worth seeing them again. Tracklist was the same as the NY show but the renditions had some slight differences. The only issue was that the middle frequencies were muted compared to the others which made it a bit tricky to pick out some of the vocals and instrumentation but this apparently was a broader problem with a lot of the acts that played on this stage.
Crowd was good for their set, hopefully it will encourage them to tour East Coast Canada more often.
Dream come true. Still processing that night, but it was amazing.
Will post some pics as I got some good ones. Just sorting through them all, was right up in the front maybe 10 people back from the barricade.
Loved that the crowd was so into it, Ed and Tom genuinely looked amazed everyone was having a good time and very appreciative. Watching them at times I saw Tom say to ed at least twice WOW and pointed at the crowd.
I'm so frigging happy for you Canadians! It had been so long and you finally were able to catch them.
@redout: I guess you're the happiest soon-to-be daddy up there right now. You owe your wife, you know that, right? :D
Looking forward to pics and reviews and what not.

I do owe her big time, she knows this. I called her after the show and must have been delirious as i was talking to her as I told her i loved her several times and her answer to that was "are you drunk" which surprisingly I wasnt just in case I had to drive the hell home.
I can honestly say though that the whole day I was a mess, worst anxiety ever the whole drive there thinking that something was going to happen, I called the wife too many times and was aparently annoying her at one point cause she was trying to sleep. But the prayers worked, and my daughter is still not here! Ah well this week at some point I guess, the chemical gods were looking out.
Dunno why some are upsidedown.
Ill try to fix it later.

Don't worry, that's just a normal post-show glint situation. Everything's upsidedown for a while, even the fotos.
