I got a question... this is their first dj set in glastonbury? I can't remember if their played before...
they've done several in the late 90s / early 00s

Bit earlier than I was expecting but can't wait nonetheless!

Looks like there might be a run of Folamour > Pulp > Fred Again.. > Elkka > Chems which is pretty incredible.

Unfortunately Four Tet has ended up being at the same time as chems :(
Live: Latitude 2021, Field Day 2022, Kalorama 2022, o2 Arena 2023
DJ: Fabric 2021, Printworks 2021, Printworks 2022, Glastonbury 2023

So you think The Churnups are Pulp?
no idea, no idea

floating pts b2b daphni after chemical brothers, you say.?
Eight or over.

Churn was the name of a Dave Grohl band so I reckon Foos to be honest (would much rather Pulp but rumour is they might also be playing at the same time in the big tent to split the crowd as they had some crush issues last year)

Don't Think (film) is also being played just after the chems set at 1:30am in the Pilton Palais Cinema. Can't say i'll likely be there - theres so much else on but probably a good chance tom and ed are there
Live: Latitude 2021, Field Day 2022, Kalorama 2022, o2 Arena 2023

or more likely BST.

Its just been confirmed as Foos (I wanted Pulp!) can't complain though a literal headliner playing at 6pm

Bit of a crazy night - Foos > (secret set of Blossoms and Rick Astley doing Smiths covers apparently!) > Fred Again > Chems > onwards into the night!
Live: Latitude 2021, Field Day 2022, Kalorama 2022, o2 Arena 2023
DJ: Fabric 2021, Printworks 2021, Printworks 2022, Glastonbury 2023

Anyone else going to this then?

My coach to the festival is at 8am tomorrow
Live: Latitude 2021, Field Day 2022, Kalorama 2022, o2 Arena 2023
DJ: Fabric 2021, Printworks 2021, Printworks 2022, Glastonbury 2023

On the BBC page about Glasto it is said
Quote
As in previous years, there will be live streams from the five major stages (Pyramid Stage, Other Stage, Park Stage, West Holts Stage and the John Peel Stage) for you to enjoy even more of your favourite bands and artists.
They're not mentioning Arcadia, not for iPlayer or Sounds. However, Nemone mentioned a couple of minutes ago on 6 Music that the Brothers will play at Arcadia, so maybe...

On the BBC Glasto lineup page the Chems aren't mentioned. On the other hand, there are artist listed playing Woodsies Stage, which is not mentioned above. Still no word about Arcadia
no idea, no idea

When I went to Field Day aka All Points East last August (Chems were headlining live) there was a 6 Music dance "stage" (you can see it here, the speakers were built into the criss-cross bits) with various DJs playing house/techno etc throughout the day.
Mary Anne Hobbs (oh and Blessed Madonna too) subsequently played a number of those DJ sets on her 6 Music radio show in the week following Field Day/All Points East. There was no live broadcast of the DJ sets, so they didn't make a fuss about it before the festival.

With Glasto, if they do give us any of the Chems DJ set, it probably won't be live. So they wouldn't make a fuss about it whilst the live coverage of Glastonbury is taking place. I think we'll have to wait until after the festival to see if they recorded it and then 'packaged' it as part of 6 Music's festival coverage or Pete Tong's Friday night show.

PS The John Peel stage is no longer called The John Peel stage this year, it's called "Woodsies". Whoever wrote that BBC blurb must have done a copy/paste from last year.
PPS You must have edited in the bit about Woodsies in your post since I started typing...

PPPS! HERE is a link to an hour of Bonobo at last year's Glastonbury. Presented as part of Radio 1's Essential Mix. Guess who he replaced at Arcadia last year. As you can see it's just an hour of his set*.

*this set was from the Gas Tower rather than his Arcadia set.

IT'S MORNING TIME!

A few Instagram stories for Arcadia are knocking about but I can't link them here. Take a look at the Chems insta story if you can. I've heard Go and Rock Witchu. Also this mash up of Mark Broom's Let It Roll and Roy Ayers' Ubiquity Hey Uh What You Say Come On. Which we have heard before.

IT'S MORNING TIME!

Great set as ever, nothing to report back really new songs / suspected ones wise

Music makes me high - 10 min lack of acid fantastic closer!

Off to enjoy the rest of my festival, i do have a BBSG video but you'll need to wait a bit longer for that!
Live: Latitude 2021, Field Day 2022, Kalorama 2022, o2 Arena 2023
DJ: Fabric 2021, Printworks 2021, Printworks 2022, Glastonbury 2023

Re the YouTube video I embedded above, we have the first 11:25 mins of the set:

0:00: Jesse Jackson "Brothers & Sisters" mixed with Your Love (Jamie Principle)
0:37 Go (EOC dub)
4:42 "Get Funky. No Bomb(?)" vocal sample. From an old breakdance/electro track I suspect.
5:16 "Do it!" and "Good Times" (Chic) vocal samples.
5:31 Take My Hands by Maxime Alexander starts to mix in underneath. Gets clearer by 6:04 when the above vocal samples ease down.
10:15 New bassline (i.e new track) mixed in followed by "woo suicide" vox at 10:47 [German speakers: is the vocal: "Woo Guten Tag, Woo suicide"?].
11:01 "Rock witchu" vocals.
11.25 Gah! It ends, just when I wanted to hear more.

IT'S MORNING TIME!

Has anyone seen the Insta-Reel from Cara Delevingne watching the Chems set? She made a cool slomo, but video isn't online anymore because 24h are gone...

edit:
fun fact - Cara was in a relationship with Annie Clark aka St. Vincent at the time Annie recorded her vocals for Under Neon Lights

Hard to say. I'd listen to this a couple of times but i think the vocals are something different, not really german. Could be more like names in songs that you can hear but they're definitely not there.

no idea, no idea

I also think it must be something different, I'm 99% sure the Chems wouldn't put the combination of "Woo, Suicide", especially in such an upbeat sounding cheer, in a song.

can it be "wooo, shure shot"?

no idea, no idea

Maybe? This sample here from a Beastie Boys track sounds similar to mee:

That would mean that the Woo is a different sample.
