Looks like Chems/Universal are still getting the pluggers to promote the track.

Just back from the cinema , went to see The Martian , the Ridley Scott film adaptation of the book by Andy Weir , . . it tells the story of a NASA Mars mission that's gone wrong , great to see it on the big screen having read the book last year & Ridley Scott's done a brilliant job visualising the story. Anyways the ' chemical spotting ' bit is that Benedict Wong's in it . . and he's the Blue Chinese Dude from ' the future ' video . . . ( he doesn't play a Blue Chinese Dude in The Martian ;- )

I don't think there's any doubt at this point. As already mentioned (http://forum.thechembase.com/index.php/topic,275.msg4743.html#new), it's suddenly been added to 6 Music's A-list playlist. That didn't just happen for no reason. And the Kolsch mix is 100% official and is acknowledged by Shazam (http://www.shazam.com/track/297237506/wide-open-ko%CC%88lsch-remix#referrer=shz.am). I susepect it's just a matter of time before we can buy the remix.

QuoteThere's my little modular system and I stole Szary's Arturia MiniBrute, which I'm using for a few songs. I re-programmed some sounds we used the modular for in the studio. It's nice because you have much more modulation moments. We have one part in Reminder, which we call the 'Chemical Brothers part' as it's full of modulation.

Yeah, I really dig that LFB cover. Her voice and the overall instrumentation fits it pretty nicely. And yes, now that you mention it, it does resemble Riley's Rainbow a bit :).

Hey Enjoyed, you managed to edit my post with your comment!! This is very confusing!!
IN other news, I've been watching Ill Behaviour (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt7138728/) on TV. The third and final episode was on BBC2 last night.
A sort of dramady about three friends, one of whom gets kidnapped by the other two so that they can force feed him chemotherapy because he has Hodgkin's lymphoma but thinks he can cure himself with fruit juice.
Surely Wildchild's Renegade Master popped up somewhere, I hear you cry. Well no, although Ill Behaviour by Danny Bird (https://www.discogs.com/master/view/276725) did make an appearance.
Anyway this Chemical spot isn't about how Anjana Vasan from Life of Galileo made an appearance as a dodgy pharmacist in episodes 1 and 3 (although she did). It's about the book that "Tess" was writing whilst in the remote country house where she was helping to force chemo on her friend. Supposedly she was writing a Sci-Fi book about robot romance or something, but in the end it seems she wrote a book about her kidnapping & chemo escapades:

The siren sound at 1:29 is veeeeeeeery very similar to the siren screeching from Underworld's remix of Leave Home.
Wouldn't you agree?

Block Rockin Beats was used as a promo for the virtual reality game for the the Kiss Me First Netflix Series. Episode 3 at the start.
The whole series was a frustrating mess. Hours of my life I want back. Just another 'edgy' series worried about being more confronting with shock value more than making sense of plot development.
Nice dance performance to a Get Yourself High edit.

So is the reason they replaced "I sing the funk electric"sample with "let's turn this thing electric" because of clearance issues/ royalties?

I guess we'll never know for sure (unless someone "asks Tom"). You agree with all these in the video, Csar?
I'm guessing the Youtuber just went straight to WhoSampled for these.
The GO sample was a bit of a surprise. I wonder how long that's been on WhoSampled. I previously couldn't make my mind up whether the vocal was singing "Go-oh" or "oh". I guess it's "oh".
I wanted this video to be longer. He's done several for the Prodigy. Maybe a part 2 and 3 are in order.

I always thought it was because the sample sounded like it was saying "sing the fuck electric" - and they were just avoiding the potential loss in radio play from having a swear word. I thought I read that somewhere too.

Well, not with everything, tbh. I thought that Mozart bit, where the author claims it was recreated for the Salmon Dance, was far fetched and I doubt it's true at all. Also, I'm a bit sceptical about the alleged ARR drum sample too. Although, Tom, in an old interview, once prided himself on deforming samples to the degree of non-recognizabilty of its origins, so it could still be true after all. But I think it just sounds too different and ARR's beat is so simple, why even sample it in the first place?
Then there's the SIFSD vocal which is probably also recreated (as you mentioned in another thread about other samples) rather than directly sampled or at least modified because you can hear Tom's voice being overlayed.
Yeah, Go was surprising for me either. I always thought it was just part of q-Tips vocals.
they most likely took whitenoises video since its the only audio available :D
but nice catch with dont think, Hold Tight London and Lost in the K-Hole. couldn't find those on whosampled
Funny they used some bootleg remix cover for Hey Boy Hey Girl.
That Go sample is both a really impressive find and use. And the Hold Tight London one. And the Dissolve one. Wow.
I never pegged the Three Little Birdies beat as a Lyn Collins sample. I'm impressed.
I don't know how I feel about the All Rights Reversed and the Beethoven one - absolutely hilarious if The Salmon Dance line indeed began with Beethoven.
Interesting how they missed the Take This Brother sample is in the middle of the track too, not just the intro.

Too tough to call. I don't have hard data, but trusting my ears, Star Guitar's take is a lot faster.
Either way, this isn't a blatant rip for me. The only time I get that "oh, that sounds familiar" vibe, is when they are played side by side like this. Still my favorite song ever.

No, no, no. There is only one version to that song and that is the originator, Jackie Wilson.
which is perfectly used at the end of the movie Death to Smoochy

The search for all the samples used, is an obsession I don't understand. I mean, it's fun to show where some of the more straight forward ones like Kraftwerk, and its use in Leave Home. But the drum loops and effects from a lot of the Hip-Hop and Electronic producers that were noted, are most likely sampling their "original" material too.
Stop obsessing and dissecting everything on a technical level, and enjoy the music. If we take anything away from these sample videos, I hope it inspires everyone to go out and listen to more diverse music (which obviously Tom and Ed do).

Or inspire people to freely sample creatively, and not get hung up on the idea that sampling isn't original. It's awesome the way they do this stuff and it inspires me to think about cutting up and using music the way they do.
I'm not ashamed of them using so many samples, but divulging all of this is a bit much. This feels similar to watching a movie with directors commentary on. Informative? Yes. But, it sucks the soul out of the film (or in this case album).
I do understand some of you producers out there are interested in learning their secrets, and thats fine. But at some point you gotta rely on your own instincts and use your own interpretation of sampling and production. Seeing ALL the magic behind the curtains doesn't build a creative mind.
tl;dr, these videos are getting a bit excessive.

As far as I can tell every sample in both these videos is on WhoSampled. Even the description of "multiple elements" (e.g: a Stereo MCs sample for Leave Home) in the video above is the same as on WhoSampled.
So I guess all the WhoSampled contributors have compiled these as a sort of "hive mind". I'm not sure you can stop a Youtuber from then putting them in a video. Personally I think they're fun, and a whole lot less fiddly than using the website. But I imagine if I didn't like them, I wouldn't watch.

Elrow was in London this weekend at what used to be the 2012 Olympic Park (next to the Vel-o-drome). Click THIS. (https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1079028) That insta is from Sunday but Kalkbrenner played on Saturday. Have a look at the Sunday lineup. Fatboy perhaps? Claptone tends to be more house-y doesn't he? EDIT: Claptone Setlist (https://track-list.com/playlist/claptone-elrow-town-london-19-08-2018/). Idris Elba played this set (https://track-list.com/playlist/idris-elba-elrow-town-london-19-08-2018/) (yeah he DJ's but no way should he be near the top of a festival lineup!). Not sure what the guys lower down the bill play. Can't find a setlist for Fatboy Slim (although there's an Elrow related listing from the 11th). The fact that it was dark in the insta clip and it's light during Claptone & Elba's sets means it's almost definitely Fatboy.
ps: Look at the track Idris started with. Dropping a hint?
PPS: Late edit: One more thought. Maybe the OOC clip
was from Saturday night, and maybe it was being played in between the named DJ's during the "waiting around bit". It might explain why a lot of people are standing around chatting. They're waiting for Mr Kalbrenner.
Probably gonna dig deeper than I need to...
I just don't see how documenting large amounts of potential samples and sampled elements, that were more than likely not cleared, can help The Chemical Brothers. Whether we think they were done tastefully and legally or not, is completely subjective. Most of these samples are obscure enough that they would never be surfaced , or at least shared to so many, without todays technology.
:::puts on tin foil hat:::
Considering how shrewd the music industry is, I wouldn't be shocked if in the near future the music labels re-visit the grey area of copyrights in a big way. Again, the technology is there to compile a class action lawsuit where artists like The Chemical Brothers could very much be at risk, again (see Setting Sun lawsuit).
Then you have these sample videos that show the parallels from sample to sampled. It seems harmless, but it's basically free work, for a very vulnerable area in music. You think WhoSampled or YouTube contributors will get payed for identifying these samples? Of course not.
::: hat off:::
P.S. Idris should make a great 007

So what's the solution? Should people stop contributing to the ever-growing database that is "WhoSampled"? Or should Youtubers stop making videos based on info they got from that database?
Who stops them? Does this affect free speech? As an old manager of mine used to say: "Don't bring me problems, bring me solutions!"
[EDIT: I'm pretty sure the two Swallow tracks that made up most of One Too Many Mornings were cleared. A lot of these other samples are drums. No one pays for drum samples, as James Brown used to point out in the 90s when Funky Drummer was massively sampled. Both he and drummer Clyde Stubblefield would have died much richer men if that were the case (RIP to both of them). The Winstons had the same issue with the Amen break. So I wouldn't worry too much about all those drums.]
There is no solution really. There is too many moving pieces to pinpoint a direct answer to this problem. But yes, I'm intertwining my personal preference with objective caution.
Your old manager is a dolt. That quote reeks of "don't supersede my authority, but do my job for me!".
Edit: It just came to me that my "dolt" comment might come off a bit malicious which was not my intent. I just don't agree with the philosophy, and find it a bit dated.

Naganuma is known to be a HEAVY sampler so it genuinely could be a Chems sample, and short enough and buried enough to go largely unnoticed. I adore the JSRF soundtrack and listen to it a reasonable amount - especially when bombing down a mountain on a snowboard, it's a fantastic feeling! - but I've never noticed that before.
I've always found a lot of his work on Jet Set similar to the early Finger Lickin' records stuff though, I'm sure there are some shared samples there.

Ah yes, that late '90s period when BRB was overused in tv/film because it worked well to show action / machoism / aggression. Am I remembering wrong or was it also used in one of the Charlie's angels films in the same respect?
I'd agree with you on the water boy being the most southern USA movie I've seen. Strangely, even though it's an absurdist comedy, it does reflect my experiences interacting with the culture (in positive ways) in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida in the past.
Smack My Bitch Up and Ya Mama are definitely in Charlie's Angels. I think Lunatic Calm too? I don't remember BRB, though it's been a hefty while since I've seen it.

Self imposed Chemical Spotting here...
As some of you know, my wife and I recently opened up a community ceramics studio here in Portland, OR. Think of it like a gym where people pay a monthly membership to come and use pottery equipment, in a creative community space, with lots of open hours and space to work on their art and store everything during the whole process.
Anywho, along with a number of Chemical tunes embedded into the studio playlist, and a wi-fi password named after a certain BRB b-side, there is one other piece of Chemical infiltration I have managed to get away with...
Our studio has two kilns (basically big stone ovens that we fire at around 2300° to vitrify ceramic pieces) and when we first started using them, we were looking for a way to differentiate between the two. It took some convincing, but our two kilns are now affectionately known as George & Mildred.
Unfortunately, despite having clearly different names, my wife often forgets which kiln is which. So I made these...

I actually only really dabble in clay myself. My wife is the real ceramicist.
I have made a few mugs with my graphic design logo on the front, which I'm pretty chuffed with. I also just started making the medallions from Ocarina of Time. The shadow medallion took me 3 hours... I'm trying to find more time to work on things but there's always stuff to be dealing with running a business! We're loving it though. And have been super lucky with our reception in the pottery world and the city as a whole.
George and Mildred seem pretty happy too ;)

Grrr. Spotting of the worse kind. While watching the Forest Hills recording, YT recommended a David Guetta performance at Tomorrowland from this year. So I paused the Chems for a moment just to skip through that video in order to confirm myself why I love the Chems so much and the first mark I click is this:

Just watched 'Let It Snow' on Netflix. Don't ask why. It was utter trash.
Anywho... NO GEOGRAPHY PLAYS IN A PARTY SCENE.
And to give you an idea of how bad the movie was, every one is dancing - during the outro. Y'know, that beatless synth part that is more emotion than anything else. Terrible movie. But glad The Brothers get some cash from it.
Also, bonus points to my wife who heard the song, kind of recognised it, but incorrectly guessed it was Bizarre Love Triangle! Tom would be pleased.

What really struck me was how many musicians have accepted Queens honours. I remember when Mick Jagger was getting his knighthood, Keith Richards ripped into him about it. And TBH, If I were in a rock band, I would probably take Keith's stance. But hey, maybe my Irish background gives me some bias. Irish people tend not to be fans of Royalty or the "class system" etc. If I ever bump into Bob Geldof, I'll be having a word...

A recent retro mix from Erol Alkan. Mostly from the early 2000's. You have ten days to comply.
Nice to hear LCD Soundsystem followed by The Chems' HIA in the mix.
Also around 7:35 into this hour long mix we hear a "radio tuning in" sound effect over Miss Kittin & The Hacker's "1982". I believe Erol has whacked that in there. I'm pretty sure that sound effect can be found in a Chemical DJ mix. Am I right? Anyone?
Also there seems to be a track in between tracks 9 and 10 on the BBC tracklisting, from about 27 mins to 31 mins in the mix. Shazam doesn't recognise it, and nor do I. Anyone know it?
EDIT: Erol has replied to me (!). It's Bon Voyage by Air Frog; a track I've never heard before.

The Test on 6 Music.
I know, radio is no real spotting, but after hearing the first one and a half seconds i immediately jumped up.
Andrew Weatherall 1992Song To The Siren vox from 45 mins (intermittently) to about 49:39. Then more STTS from 1hr,16 to about 1hr,21.
And also Jesse Jackson "It's Morning Time!" from 56 mins to 58 mins, and 58:50 to 1hr,1min. And again, even more clearly from 1hr,9mins to 1hr,11mins.
As the Chems claim they followed Weatherall around to hear him play STTS in his DJ sets, then it seems likely they heard him play this Jesse Jackson speech back in '92.
ps Shazam identified Jesse Jackson easily here, but Google "search for a song" didn't...
It's amazing how things come full circle sometimes. When I skipped through this mix and got to that Jackson sample again, it dawned on me that I had heard this "every day of my life" bit somewhere else before:
In the aptly named song "Every day of My Life" from Tom's former band Ariel

If you have SiriusXM, check out this week's (technically last week's) Friday Night Freakout by Drew Carey. It's featured on Little Steven's Underground Garage, which is primarily a premium rock station.
Anyway, It's a three hour show of handpicked tracks by Drew, and he had a set that absolutely killed and consisted of:
The Stone Roses - Love Spreads
The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize
Hot Chip - Over and Over
Stereo MCs - Step It Up
All back to back...
I searched for this movie title and nothing came up in search, so hopefully hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread. Heard this classic track in DC League of Super-Pets.
I guess if you were too young for the 90s and you wanted to do a 30 minute cram-it session of dance choons from that decade, you could do worse than listen to this Megamix the Utah Saints have done for the BBC. There's a bunch of these "Rave Forever" mixes on the BBC website/app at the moment.
6 Music's Rave Forever Utah Saints 90s Megamix. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001p2lv)

It kinda feels like they were asked to do one of those five minute mini-mixes for Annie Mac, but they did half an hour instead of five minutes.
Speaking of which, the Utah Saints did do a five minute mini mix for Annie Mac back in 2008.
It includes Running Up That Hill which was a US top ten hit for Kate Bush as recently as last summer. And also lots of Chemical-adjacent tracks (artists sampled, DJ'd, remixed by the Chems or even featured in the Chems live show*). And a few seconds of Sammy The Salmon too.

Just heard this playing on the TV downstairs, ran down as fast as I could!
So I've been listening to a couple of old Essential Mixes recently and one new one.
The new one is Massano's "Melodic Techno" (i.e Trance, IMHO) mix which someone has just put on YouTube. (https://youtu.be/XdhaHB37uoE?si=LsQd0tdSYkwiB0SH&t=1) Not really my cup of tea TBH, but he briefly redeems himself by playing his Massano edit of Do It Again at 1hr,07mins.
The old ones are:
1) The Scratch Perverts 2004 Essential Mix which Pete Tong and the BBC Sounds app have re-upped and now list under "Classic Essential Mixes". There seem to be several different tracklists for this thing, none of which seem to be complete (there are a
lot of tracks in this one). It starts off quite hip hop heavy with LL Cool J, Dr Dre and Dizee Rascal but later on, it throws some curveballs into the mix like Paul Weller, and Also Jay Z mixed into Radiohead's National Anthem (1hr,15) and at 1hr,24 we get Kelis mixed into the Chems Come With Us. An eclectic Essential Mix for sure.
2) As mentioned already here (https://forum.thechembase.com/index.php/topic,124.msg34274.html#msg34274) the 1995 debut Chems Essential Mix. I haven't listened to this in a looong time. I find myself listening to Life Is Sweet at about 1hr,44. Seems to be a slightly different edit of the track with some bonus talking from Tim Burgess. What does he say, "there's me seagull" (1hr,47 and 15 secs) or something?
this is also on YouTube (https://youtu.be/cvaKcj5QE98?si=biO-lOoIX4oN9lLz&t=1) if you prefer. The timings are slightly different though.
Thinking Back to 2019, not only did we get an Essential Mix to coincide with No Geography, but there was also the Desert Island Disco mix for Lauren Laverne, and a half hour mix for Annie Mac's Friday night show too. This time? Nada*.
* well apart from the radio shows /interviews mentioned in the FTBF section.

Hey Guys!
Psychofrakulator on the Discord pointed out that MTV Germany will air a re-run of the 2003 MTV Spin with the Chemical Brothers in about two hours! It should be available to stream if you're in Germany via the MTV website: https://www.mtv.de/live/0h9eak.
If you shouldn't be able to watch it locally, I will live stream it on the Discord as well!
Thanks! Was able to capture it (missing ~30sec because the image froze at the beginning of HBHG).
It's nothing really too special. It was an MTV "videography" and commentary by Tom & Ed on a few select videos and a full airing of Golden Path at the end.
"Highlights":
Tom says that he never understood the hung meat scene in BRB and Ed replies that they always had problems with that.
During HBHG Ed says he never really got why the girl had become obsessed with skeletons just because she broke her arm as kid.
I got the whole thing ;D It was still fun watching this, unfortunately I caught covid somewhere and am quite bedridden and this really cheered me up

10) BRB takes its title from a line from which song by rapper Schoolly D?
11) When the Chems performed at Glastonbury in 2019, they dedicated their set to which musician?
12) Which Oscar winning film maker directed the video for Star Guitar?

In Austria they're called "Hofer". And I can confirm that many, many products they sell under their own labels are identical or at least manufacured at the same suppliers as many "big brand" products (I'm not sure if that's the case with cola, though). Somebody in my close family works as a store manager and of course knows where their inventory comes from. They even rarely get delivered the wrong products (meaning they have the wrong label).
Pretty sure Weetabix famously makes all the 'off brand' wheat biscuits as well.

Thanks a lot! Interesting takes from Ed. Seems like Tom's more enthusiastic about continuing making music like he made clear in one of his recent interviews. But I thought something like this might come up, now that EddyBOYsimons has become DADDyboysimons.
May this one not be their last as I hoped they'd leaving with a good one.

Csar 1) It
is a good one! (OK it's not in my top 3 Chems albums, but it's decent. Do we need to do a new album ranking thread?). You never did make it clear how much - if any - of the current album you like. Come on, spill the beans!
2) Why would it be their last? The Studio is at Tom's house - he's spent a fortune on that shit! He ain't gonna stop. It's clear at this point that he's the 'lead' Brother; he'll keep making music and releasing it under the Chems name. I'm sure of it (good health permitting).
Re-classify? Nah, if Tom is already the 'lead' Brother, there's no need to re-classify anything.
There was a discussion on the BROTHERHOOD!! FB page recently that seems to have been deleted now (If it's still there, someone please let me know!).
Someone mentioned the recent book and how it seems quite Tom-centric (or words to that effect). They also mentioned a 2019-ish thread on Gearspace (https://gearspace.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-and-electronic-music-production/1006813-chemical-brothers-fake-true-live-6.html) about the Chems. The moderator is a guy called Psycho Monkey. His bio tells us he is this guy (https://www.discogs.com/artist/447141-Adrian-Breakspear). The fact that he's a long time moderator on Gearspace suggests to me that he isn't a troll. But make up your own mind. During his time up to about 2008 as in house engineer at Miloco, he formed some opinions on the music making by T&E.
You can read his comments peppered throughout that thread yourself, and make up your own mind. I'm not inclined to type out direct quotes, as I don't feel like being a controversy-monger today! I'm not in the mood for a 'fight', I'm just sharing what's written on another forum...
I saw that post on Facebook and skimmed through the Gearhead thread, which started with the question whether or how much of their shows are live and deteriorated to a question of what part they each play in creating and writing their music (Those are two completely separate questions, btw).
Regarding their live shows, it's not the case that each note requires a button to be pushed, but I've been to subsequent shows and there are variations all over the place. So unless all those variations are also pre-programmed, something they do on stage affects how the music sounds live.
Let's give this guy at Gearspace the benefit of the doubt and take his word that he spent some time in the studio with the Chems, where he didn't observe Ed doing anything. My take is that it is a pretty bold statement to go from this to claiming that Ed isn't involved at all. I'd think that creating their music is a creative process that will involve much more than sitting in the studio and knowing where each patch cable goes to. I think it's also obvious that Tom is more the tech and studio guy, but to claim that Ed has been some sort of freeloader in their long career is far-fetched.
Regarding the interview, that there will be "a bit of a gap" after an album and more than two years of touring comes hardly as a surprise. I think what Ed is saying here is that they won't churn out something just because they make money from it.
I don't wanna hear things like "the last album" or "a big break" or "miguel". Off with all of your heads two times!

Oops, double post technically.
If you're quick and you check 2ManyDjs instagram stories, you'll see that they've re-posted lots of fan 'stories' in their own stories - from Rock En Seine last night.
Several of the clips are of The Chems "...Dreaming", complete with animated FTBF album artwork.
In the clip from antoine_offroad the track sounds a bit different, possibly because the previous track is being mixed out? Or is it a re-edit?
In the clip from hej_malmo it does sound like regular FLIAD.
We get 2 clips from petersoze -both worth listening to. The first is similar to antoine_offroad's clip with (perhaps?) another track being mixed out.
The second is the FLIAD vocal over the top of Blue Monday which works very nicely.
And another clip of the Blue Monday/FLIAD mash up can be heard courtesy of superdigitalsd .
All these clips will probably expire in the next 5 hours, so be quick if you want to check 'em.

I recently found out (via Better Call Saul) that Hydrox was the original brand and Oreos were/are the copycats. What sort of name is Hydrox for a biscuit/cookie?

Just wiki-ing Hydrox and I see the original creator is Shunshine biscuits inc. who are also responsible for one of the most addictive and popular cheese snacks here in America, Cheez-It.
I can be quite the reckless snacker, I'm sure I would like Hydrox, Oreo (already do), or whatever the fuck Jammie Dodger is.

And what's the big deal about that? I don't see any problem.

Truth.
I killed your ability to pull off the rare "quad", sorry
@Wolkenkrabber.
I know it's the dog days and we're pretty much dry of any significant chemical brothers news, but we're really struggling to get conversations going here lately...

Are Kasablanka for real triggering the bass guitar notes live from the MPC pads?
If so, does that make this cover of BRB more live than when the Chems play it?

I'm in Target getting some Halloween decorations and they are BLASTING Midnight Madness.
I fucking love October, man.
I'm currently binging HBO's Succession and Hey Boy Hey Girl is in the background of the episode Kendall Roy celebrates his 40th Birthday.
Haha yeah I remember HBHG playing in that episode
Go was featured in the recent episode of Invincible, which was pretty cool.
Well known UK supermarket. I rarely use them as they tend to be more expensive than the others.

Oh, Co-op. They once had plenty of shops in Germany but that was ages ago. They still are a big thing in Switzerland.
edit:
Searching for it on Wikipedia is saying me that the german Coop seems to have nothing to do with the ones in other countrys and that they have been bought by another big german supermarket chain in 2001. And speaking of of other countrys => seems like nearly every european country has a Coop ;D : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coop
I have a double spot and I think I've mentioned these before a long time back perhaps on the old forum...
I randomly was watching the movie 'Meet the Parents' recently and came across the scene where Ben Stillers character fetches some boxers to borrow from a young adult son's room (Airport lost his luggage). Long story short, upon entering the room there is a glorious 36"x24" 'Surrender' poster on the wall in full view. I have the same exact one and it's spectacular.

Anywho, upon reliving this memory, I also remember there's a similar scene in the Douglas family flick (Kirk, Michael, and Cameron) 'It Runs in the Family' [2003]. I couldn't find any clips/photos on the web, but saw the free streaming website Tubitv.com has the movie in its library. I tried to screen grab some photos, unfortunately Tubi must have some built in script that disallows screen grab and pictures a black screen. Thus, I took some with my phone:

Looking back, I thought it was interesting how featured the Chemical Brothers were shown in this scene. And then I started putting together that all the artists posters and stickers are from the Astralwerks record label - which also can be seen in sticker form next to 'Come With Us'.
Awesome, that's a different kind of Chemical Spotting :)
It looks like the actor Pedro Pascal has godlike taste in music:

Edit: it looks like that it isn't possible to hear the music added to an instagram post if you're viewing this on a computer browser.
