To echo @sandelic 's sentiment in Now Playing, fare well, Tina Turner.
Really sad news. She was one of a kind with such energy and unique presence onstage. She overcame so much hardship in her life, esp. during her abusive first marriage, I wished she could have weathered her health issues as well.

Goodbye, Ms. Turner.

"You cannot eat money, oh no. You cannot eat money, oh no. When the last tree has fallen and the rivers are poisoned, you cannot eat money, oh no."
— Aurora (The Seed)

She was the one of the few artists my whole family liked.
So many good memories are tied with her songs.
You could never go wrong with Tina.

Really sad day.
I can hit cheeky lizards if I want!

In the words of Posdnous of De La Soul on the Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip "Thou Shall Always Kill (De La Edit)":

Thou shalt not think Tina Turner can't shake her ass harder than Beyoncé

This lyric changed my perceptions about both artists. Has more meaning recognizing the hardship that was Tina Turner's life.
That would have blown my mind. If I had a mind.
"We going up!" and then pogo for the stars
"why yes, yes you are crazy and I love you for it!" Whirly

We do kinda need a 'In Memoriam' type thread. Been a bunch of artists/well-known people I would love to pay my respects too and perhaps spread appreciation for, but don't want to clutter the forum.

I really don't have much to add that hasn't already been said. My mom was able to see Tina Turner back in 2008. A bunch of celebrities showed up for the concert including Oprah Winfrey.

RIP
