Need Help Recording Audio for Upcoming DJ Sets

Hi friends, I'm planning to record the audio of the next two DJ sets in Argentina.

My first option is using my phone: I have a Samsung S23 Ultra that records decently. Do you know of any reliable apps for recording audio? My idea is not to hold the phone in my hand for the entire show but to keep it in a small bag. There's also the possibility of recording video, but only in 720p since I don't have much storage space (256GB).
The second option, and I think the best one, is using a recorder. I have a Zoom H1, but it's very sensitive to handling noise and bumps. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to bring it into the venue... Here in Argentina, security at electronic music events usually performs more thorough checks.
Any advice?
Hope you all have happy holidays!

If you don't have a chance to put the phone at a place where it can stay through the whole recording process without moving, you won't get a good audio quality. Thing is, if the phones microphones won't have a free direction to the speakers it won't record high frequencys. Keeping in a bag filters high frequencys. Turning around to the right, turning around to the left - change in frequencys. Turning around 180° and your body will filter out all frequencys except low ones. I would say record some videos* of tracks that you think are worth to record (for example those possible new tunes they've played at those two Bugged Out Sets), keep the phone in your pocket, rave your ass off and enjoy the party

Zoom H1 [...] not sure if I'll be able to bring it into the venue...

No chance unless it is a common thing to carry those around casualy in Argentina and the bouncers don't care. But even with this - same problem as above.

*why video? Because for a video you hold your phone up high so the cameera can see what's happening on stage, and while doing so the microphones are in clear direction to the speakers
unfuck the world please

Thank you so much, Pumisher, you explained it perfectly. I think I'll try using the Zoom H1 connected to a small external microphone at some a New Year's party, but I'm afraid it's not directional. Just to test it
I'll definitely follow your recommendation: I'll record some videos and rave my ass off and enjoy the party!
