are we not going to address the fact that Ace from PPG is the new guy behind the bass?
"The music Gets Louder, The Lights swirl faster, the chap who freaks out hasn't passed the acid test... A surprising number of these youngsters don't even know who Timothy Leary is..."

Pretty ready for this album now actually.

Dang, that's really good.

I mean... We have most of the album at this point:

I'm getting some Basement Jaxx/Bugz in the Attic vibes on this one. From the guest vocals at least (not including the SNOOP).

Episode 2. Enjoying this Song Machine jaunt!

How is it I'm having to kill a kitten for this...

Gorillaz & Peter Hook!!!

And clear nods to the Star Guitar video too. I love this.

loving song machine so far.

I nabbed the episode 3 print, but really wish I had got the episode 2 print.

Gorillaz coming after Born in The Echoes with the Beck & St Vincent collabs on the same album.

I bought the Almanac which comes with the Song Machine Season 1.
BUT there is a deluxe version with 7 extra tracks. Feeling a little swindled.
BUT also very excited for the tons of Hewitt artwork that will come in the almanac.

BRING ON OCTOBER.

I've become a bit of a sucker for the song machine merchandise.

that $250 box set is fucking ridiculous though. eff that. no.

Kevin x Damon. Don't know why this seemed like something that would never happen but, wow. Not disappointed AT ALL.

New album out in February  :music

I love this track, I wonder if Kevin did only vocals or also some guitar

Definitely sounds like he had a hand in the production too. It's very Slow Rush sounding in places.

Yes, he definitely did the guitar riff, probably the bass line too

I'll be honest, the Gorillaz project has lasted longer than I thought it would. I'm sure Damon wants to keep it evolving with young contemporary music artists, but any chance the Chems can be a featuring legacy artist that collaborates on the new album?

Time is ticking on a Damon/Chems collaboration and they largely hold the same audience, so why not?

I can't articulate why, but for some reason it makes way more sense in my head for there to be a Chemical Brothers track featuring Damon Albarn, than a Gorillaz track feat The Chemical Brothers.

Perhaps it's the guest vocal aspect of the typical Gorillaz features? Besides a few specific cases of brass bands / world music artists - I can't think of a Gorillaz collab that hasn't utilized the vocal performance of the guest. I think Damon (and his studio collaborators) want to be largely in charge of the production, with space made to highlight the talent of the guests. I feel like that's maybe a harder thing to do with two stalwart electronic producers who also want to be leading the production. I could be wrong though!

But, it's always fun to speculate or make a new Gorillaz collaboration wish list.

To continue the sharing of resources... Maybe Aurora could be a fun guest?

I'd also love to see Roísín Murphy on there. DJ Koze could have already made introductions! (Oddly, I don't think it would be as weird to see him as a guest for Gorillaz - again, can't fully explain why!)
