They are going to perform their debut album Innerspeaker live at their studio tommorrow, April 21, as a pay-to-watch event at a very fair price (short of 9 bucks).

I got a ticket for that, and unfortunately missed the first minutes but it was very cool. Wave House has to be the best place to record an album. That view is gorgeous !

Wow this is surreal. On the release day of inner speaker they did an in store performance at a hifi/music retail store I once worked at: Shame not that store mine was on another street! I'll have to check my timeline if I moved on from that part of my life already its all a blur now.

They'll never be doing this again thats for sure (note lead from pond to Kevin's right and 'Gum' playing drums who now plays keys still in live version of Tame.
...'cause I don't like whats going on in the world. I'm scared of that...

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

So Kevin Parker sold all of the rights to his existing and upcoming work to Sony  ::mbag

In 2020, Sony Music Publishing signed a publishing deal with Parker to cover worldwide representation of his future songs. The new deal now covers both Parker's existing collection of songs and his future works, SMP said today (May 15).

I fucking adore this.

Sure seems like Kevin has been diving into the Underworld back catalogue recently. Those Born Slippy drums are killer.

Very excited for the next album.

Been singing this all day. Love it. It's like a new Elephant, but better.

LOL! Kevin dedicates a whole track to setup Star Guitar, I love it!

He's a Star Guitar truther! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!!!

My Old Ways is so fucking good man. Can't stop listening to it.

Album is solid, though definitely dips a little in the middle - at least it feels like that currently - things might grow!

Opening 4 tracks are brilliant though, and combined with Afterthought and End of Summer, make for an easily winning album overall.

Maybe it's recency bias but My Old Ways might be my favourite track of his, ever? Gonna have to check back in on that later.

I'm also going to use this spot to talk about Zane Lowe (who's done another hour long sit down with Kevin to talk about the album) - What do we think of him? The interview for The Slow Rush was something I really enjoyed, casual, insightful, got some really nice insights out of Kevin in a comfortable way that felt like it opened him up to sharing things candidly. But this one, he's in his new Apple Music studio (is my understanding at least) and he just comes across as so pompous, calling Kevin "bro", basically leading him towards answers that, it doesn't appear he was looking to give - and on numerous occasions, making topics about him and his experiences, rather than directing it back to the music and the artist. I don't know - I've always had a bit of a mixed opinion of the guy, and what better place to unnecessarily share that in the hope of some internet validation.

Aren't all succesfull Radio host pompous? It's their show, they direct the the conversation, so it will always feel self absorbed to some point. I've only listened to Zane a few times from the interviews with Tom and Ed, and seems like a decent bloke. But he isn't a quality interviewer like Charlie Rose or Larry King (journalists). Point is, majority of people tuning into to Zane are there to hear Zane. Kevin Parker is just a guest.

A more subdued radio host will rarely have the access to talent like Kevin Parker, nor will they ever have more than a modest audience.

Keep in mind, not all our music heros are great interviewees either...

I'm currently taking in the album.

'Dracula' had sooo much potential. If only he got an outside co-writer to help him develop it, and take it where it needs to be. Could've had another mega Halloween classic. Still a very good novelty track.

Charlie Rose or Larry King

Howard Stern is doing a good job. And Steve Lamac, but he's not that often on air since, i don't know, a year or so. I also say that Lauren Laverne is doing a good job on Desert Island Discs and her 6 Music show.

Cant speak for Steve Lamac or Lauren Laverene, but Howard Stern's origin is being a shockjock. I haven't listened to his broadcast in ages, and I think most of his interviews he would conduct were basically motivated around having his guest admit something they don't want to tell the public. Entertaining, but not necessarily a great interview.

Like I previously mentioned, Charlie Rose, Larry King, and even Barbara Walters (of 20/20 fame), were all professional journalists. As interviewers, they knew how to be a neutral presence, controlled thoughts, and were extremely smart. This is why they interviewed a wide arrange of personalities.

Matt Pinfield, formerly of MTV was a great music artist interviewer, and I wish a talent like him was still active. Tom and Ed, even had a decent interview with him back in the day.
