Wanted to go to Beth Gibbons next year, she'll be playing here in Cologne - but 88€ is a bit too much for an average Album (ok, Floating In A Moment is a standout track). Yes, she will be playing one or two songs from Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man, but three tracks aren't worth 88€ (she doesn't play Portishead songs as far as i know).


Instead i'm going to Afrob & Ferris MC next week. That is some old-school german hip hop, and their song "Reimemonster"("Rhyme Monster"?) is one, if not the best german hip hop song

From what I remember monitoring some of her set lists, she rotates her encores from set-to-set with "Glory Box" or "Roads".

Regardless, I feel your plight. A rare-toured (Portishead) and a heralded talent from our generation, playing solo material over the famed work that made her famous in the first place, and at that price, ugh...

It's easy for me to say you're making the right choice, but I've seen her (and touched her hand!) with Portishead in 2008.

I hate to be this guy - because I love concerts, the people I've met along the way, and how they've molded my life - but I know I don't have to remind you the internet has this show available for you to download and watch in the comfort of your home.

Seen them twice: First one at Bizarre Festival 1998 (i wasn't into Portishead at that time and only went to see them because one from our group wanted to see them), and then again in 2008 (like you) here in Cologne at the Palladium (same venue where she will perform next year) - and since i keep all my concert tickets i can confirm that the ticket cost me €37,40 back then.
