So 2026 also "only" DJ sets...

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

I was surprised that they're returning to Argentina, especially with a DJ set again. They'll probably do more shows in South America. I thought they'd tour the UK or Europe with their new live act by the end of 2026.

Nothing "only" about them ;D

I don't think they'll return with a live show until a new album is on the horizon.

Thats why i was hoping for a live show. It's been long enough, time to release Base 7.

They're playing on the first day! Luckily, there are lots of other artists I also want to see that same day at the festival, including Franz Ferdinand. The downside is that the ticket costs over 200 USD just for that one day. Way too expensive. Still, I'm hoping they'll do another show in Buenos Aires or (I'm praying) in Mendoza, my city.

I empathize with you on the price. I feel priced-out on a lot events and only seems to get worse.

Still, I would feel encouraged if I'm a Argentinian fan. Either the Chems are getting advised to make more appearances in South America (specifically Argentina), or you got a booking agent that is really determined to bring them to Argentina over these couple of years. Here's hoping this leads to the long overdue return of the "Live" show for your area.

I'm not familiar with a lot of Latino artists on this festivals lineup. Any artists that we as a forum should watch out for that may have crossover appeal, or perhaps a potential future collaboration from?

I think this year's visit may have "strengthened" the relationship so that they could return with their live show. What stands out to me is that there's no news about any other country in South America... Still, it's early, I think there will be more dates.

I hadn't thought about a future collaboration, and now I can't stop imagining Marilina Bertoldi. She's a great multifaceted rock artist, and this year she released a new album that's very synth-pop or something similar. This is a great song that speaks a bit about Argentine reality, referencing "don't make noise, you're disturbing." "Van a despertar al gordo" is a classic Argentine phrase that means "don't make noise, my baby is sleeping."  And the video is pure genius. Everything falls apart and nobody does anything. There was a lot of criticism toward very famous Argentine artists who, when asked about Argentine politics, simply didn't answer — as if they had no thoughts of their own.

And this is my favorite song of hers:

Cosquín Rock is a great local festival, mainly focused on Argentine rock. But until just a few years ago, there weren't any international artists. The first ones to come (if I remember correctly) were Slash, Deadmau5, Tiësto, Charlotte de Witte, among others.

I think one of the few bands with international projection is Babasónicos, of whom I'm a big fan. They have more than 30 years of experience, and in recent years they've shifted toward a minimalist electronic sound. I highly recommend them, though I understand the language might be a barrier.

They just dropped a new single this week:

They announced the set times. Disney+ is the official streaming service... fingers crossed.

I quit D+ after I've found out that Extraordinary was cancelled but I might sign up again (for a month) if they livestream this set XD

Press kit says that "live performances from all three main stages" will be shown on Disney+. I believe the three main stages are Norte, Sur, and Montaña (Chems are playing Montaña), so fingers crossed we get to watch it live

Looks like Disney+ will be my valentine for the night...

Has anyone fiddled with stream yet? I need to know if I should be signing up for a trial. Is this legitimately available to all countries?

I'll be back later

I asked Google and it claims that it will only be streaming in South America. I have Disney+ in North America and I don't see them advertising it anywhere so it's probably true.

Is anyone going to record it? I've actually never seen one of their DJ sets and would love to check it out.

Frustrating. Thanks for looking into that.

It's region locked to Latin America. And it doesn't matter because once I worked around the region lock I can see that their set isn't being streamed. They're supposed to be on now, but the stream for that stage ended after Franz Ferdinand, who were on before them

On one of the other streams they have people talking in a studio and you can hear Superflash faintly playing in the background :))

It was great. But the best part of the night was that I got to meet them. Yes, in person. I met and said hello to Tom and Ed. I'm so happy.

Papal Disco!!!! (at 18:00)
This has to be the clearest recording of this song yet?

I'll tell you about my day at Cosquín Rock.

I arrived early, around 3 PM, after a long walk to reach the festival grounds. And by the way, let me tell you what Cosquín Rock is. It must be the most important festival in Argentina, especially when it comes to national bands. People come from all over the country, almost like a pilgrimage. The city comes to a standstill and everything revolves around the festival. People rent out their gardens for parking or camping spots, even the bathrooms in their houses, and they sell food and drinks.

It's a festival that's almost exclusively focused on Argentine rock bands, but in recent years the lineup has expanded to include a wider variety of artists. That's why I was surprised when they announced the Chems.
I saw several national artists, and then it was time for the international acts. Surprisingly, there wasn't much of a crowd before Franz Ferdinand started playing, so I managed to get all the way to the front row of the stage. It was a really nice show. I hadn't listened to them in years, but it was so much fun jumping around to songs from their first albums.

Then it was time for the Chems.

Tom came out first to set up the equipment. I waved at him from a distance and he waved back. Then Ed arrived, and a few minutes before the show started they walked off the stage — and something happened that I never in my life thought would happen.

I saw to my left that they had come down to greet the people who were standing there. Not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would meet them or shake their hands face to face. Never. Luckily, I wasn't overwhelmed by shyness or excitement, so I was able to shake their hands, say hello, thank them, and tell them how important that moment was to me.

Ed greeted me very kindly (like a true English gentleman). I showed Tom the tattoo of them on my arm, and he said, "Ohh, that's good stuff." Only then did I take out my phone and manage to record a few seconds. Then I got brave and asked for a selfie. Unfortunately, the photo with Ed came out blurry — but I already sent the picture with Tom to be printed.

The set was fun. I think the crowd wasn't 100% in party mode, so everything felt a bit more laid-back. I didn't record as much as I did last year — I focused more on dancing and just enjoying the moment.

They played Do It Again, Superflash, All of a Sudden, Reflexion (!!), Saturate, Star Guitar, and It Doesn't Matter (the last two with the No Geography vocal sample), Swoon and they closed with Galvanize, which sounded a few BPM slower than usual. Papal Disco was a blast.

The show ended, I went to grab a drink — and that's when it finally hit me. I met them. The tears were pure happiness.

So happy for you, amigo! Definitely deserved it for waiting all this long!

Yep. But I don't really feel this version. Why they relegated its fabulous, anthem-like analogue melody to the background and focused on the New Order vocals is beyond me. Turned this whole thing into weak sauce.

This was the real deal
Wolf Alice is the best band alive.
