Im chuffed for this and hope too its not just some sort of festival dates (but still, anytime seeing the brothers is a privilege).. i have read a rumour about the possibility of them supporting Oasis at Knebworth. Same as the line up was there for their gigs in 1996. Just a rumour.

This. And Cologne you cowards!!!
Canada continues to stare in disappointment
That would have blown my mind. If I had a mind.
"We going up!" and then pogo for the stars
"why yes, yes you are crazy and I love you for it!" Whirly

I don't know what prevented them from stopping by there more often in the earlier 2000s til now. Maybe they should reconsider now that the US is less viable to play due to tariffs and increases in visa expenditures.

So now that Canada is in talks of becoming a "member" of the EU and the fact that Mr. Burnham is open for an exit of brexit back into the EU - if both happens there are chances for them to play a lot easyer in Canada.

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

It's logistically expensive to travel from one place to another in Canada. Longer travel times. Smaller markets outside the big three (Van, TO, Montreal). Booking agencies are mainly US based. Weather at certain parts of year.

Choose the poison and it usually applies.

Don't toy even further with my heart. I would move back in a heart beat if that actually goes through.

I've never been to Canada, but I would think Toronto/Southern Ontario is theoretically an ideal location and a market for the Chemical Brothers to be reacquainted with.

Canada soon to be the most desirable location on earth simply for their amount of renewable/fresh water.

As much as I want to disagree as a (non-separation) Albertan, I have to agree that Toronto is ideal.

As for the water...you need some? Here, take it. We had too much this summer in my hometown. At least it's not oil that takes a ridiculous amount of energy to covert.

with the new tomora setup this makes me wonder if whenever the chems do go back on tour whether they'll go back to the rig they'd been using or adapt to something lighter, it does seem like touring as tomora is relatively easier compared to how much of a behemoth the chems show began to become, and unlike tomora the chems should have a much bigger budget

that center console tom is using now was customed designed for tomora and commissioned also by gravity rigs so it'd be interesting to see what else they come up with
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world 〰️

I guess the Canadian fans would gladly sacrifice some show elements if only they could get any live shows at all. For instance, as lovely as the robots are, they're only used briefly once in the sets so far and wouldn't take away too much of the fun. I'm sure this could help save quite a bit of the logistics costs.

I don't think that reducing the live rig would make a noticeable dent in the tour budget

We did too. Thus, this is the one downfall to an abundance of renewable surface water... FUCKING MOSQUITOS!

My Drive-In protection:

While I agree they probably could move forward and help budget by consolidating audio equipment, I don't think the same thing can be for the visual aspect of the show. Reducing that element would remove them as a respective headliner status at music festivals.

Myself, I'm curious if there might be an opportunistic private interest to help finance a live tour. With the big success of the Oasis tour last year, there has to be people out there looking to exploit the same demographic and try to replicate success. Albeit, in a smaller scale, because Chemical Brothers aren't playing full stadiums, but arenas could be a comfortable spot! Point is, the entertainment industry likes safe and manageable copy-cat structure, and perhaps Chemical Brothers could be a beneficiary from Oasis success? Maybe not so far-fetched?
