Thanks man!

What I meant to also ask is does anyone own Strictly Limited Edition?
I do, see thread: Show me what you've got (Chems releases collections)

It's the ridiculously euphoric arpeggio from The Golden Path solo. It's like Hey Riff in In Glint.

That is one weird release, I've never seen anything like it before. Except maybe Strictly Limited Edition. It looks legitimate as far as I can tell - if it's fake it's a pretty elaborate fake. I wonder what the copies were originally made for? Trying to read the copyright notes on the back but the picture is too blurry. I am shouting "ENHANCE" at my computer screen but nothing is improving.
Pricey but if no one else bids, 50 quid isn't horrible for something as rare as this!

WTF IS THAT? I never seen that before. Is it a book or some sorts? I love the cover BTW ( its like the color poster that ive seen before and wanted to get). Where did he get it at?
Prescription beats and power move! Weird but cool tracklist.
I'll bid too, but hopefully I won't have to break the piggybank, and hopefully that no one will shell out the 300 plus US dollars during bidding!
btw if you look on the back on the bottom, you'll see contact info for Film and Television phone number.
it seems this item was only for those uses only. Definitely for that industry who uses music for film and TV production. Not for public use.
Sort of a audio resume for Chems.
It's a beautiful package though, you would think something just for TV and film would be a little more understated? Maybe it's nice and fancy to attract attention in order to get those sweet royalty bucks from their music being licensed.
GOOD LUCK to anyone bidding on it.
My goal in collection is to own every Chemical Brothers track on an original cd or vinyl.
How gorgeous this package may be I own all the tracks allready so I'm not interested. (same goes for the Strictly Limited Edition)

Back in 2010, 14 year old me made a bunch of Chems wallpapers and graphics, by editing / playing with the Further Visual Making Of slideshows. They weren't super original, but I thought they were cool and had fun making them.
So I'm very tickled to find that my edits are now being printed on bootleg t-shirts sold on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262101422840?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI262101422840.N36.S1.R2.TR3
(http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WAYAAOSwYHxWJLng/s-l1600.jpg)
:D
edit: I wasn't sure where to put this. I am not recommending you buy these!
That's hilarous. I wasn't here back in 2010 but I understand you did it as a school project (T-shirt design & printing is cooler than any school project I ever did).
Did you make the designs available as a PDF (or similar) here so that people could just copy them?
I wonder how long these guys have been doing this. Maybe you should contact them and ask for your cut!
EDIT: Ah you didn't actually make these into a T-shirt, you did "Nous sommes Le Pouvoir... Pam!". So you just left your graphics on the old website i presume, and the bootleggers liked 'em.
This actually looks pretty good. On Fruit of The Loom shirts too!
Oh, I guess it's the wallpapers Whitenoise did back then. They were pretty fun! I still have some in my chems pic "library".

I actually like how that sample was used. It suits the track pretty well
I still would like to hear a full length track of Container Park, maybe with a little tweak to the song's structure, in a more "dance"-like fashion. I remember that sample being put on top of the "ahh" vocal samples in the movie trailers which was cool but wasn't done so in the final soundtrack.

^ I got a gently used one off eBay last year for 1/4th the price.
I remember seeing one brand new at the former Virgin Megastore in Chicago back when it was released. I can't remember what it retailed but it looked so boss on the new release shelf. They had so much stuff that I wanted to buy. I think I ended up filling up some of my regular singles collection (It Began In Afrika, Block Rockin Beats, Setting Sun). But I also remember passing on a what was most likely a first print unopened "Dig Your Own Hole" LP. Which I kick myself for now.

How do you know you got first print release?
Because there was never a reissue (or at least until now). All existing 'Dig Your Own Hole' LP's, both by Astralwerks and Freestyle Dust/Virgin, are first print.
Kind of ironic that seller with the sealed copy is located in Chicago. I managed to get a unsealed copy in great condition a year ago when I went on a Chemical Brother vinyl buying spree.
On a similar vein I failed to get a copy of the black promotional Hanna vinyls back in 2011 when they were selling. Most got scalped and they go for at least ~$60 each.
But I found a steal on a sealed copy last night for $25! Should arrive by next week.

get it for unmixed Hold Tight London. It's really pricy though
So I went to the Music and Video Exchange today. They had EBW6 for £6, but the promo version, without the label. I decided against it... But looking on Discogs is seems to be pretty rare.
Mistake?
I did pick up the PTB promo cd for a £ though, along with a bunch of Fluke singles.
I had a Hanna promo, but then I left it with an old professor of mine (by accident) who I have not been able to get in contact with. Having never heard the Chems before, he went insane when recording my Exit Planet Dust vinyl on his nice setup. Life Is Sweet was his favorite. I'm sure he is enjoying my promo to this day.

Indeed. I bought this in the past couple of years through either Amazon or Discogs, can't remember which. It wasn't expensive, although I think the postage from Australia or the US was less than ideal.
I naively assumed the vocal callout hook was an acapella. How wrong I was! It's just a 12 second extract from the track. What's the point? Is it meant to be DJ friendly?

I think the idea was to make it very easy for radio programmers to fade in a nice clip of the track during a break or commercial - tease out the track basically - and save the engineers the trouble of making the edit themselves. I found a promo CD in my radio station with something similar on it (can't recall where it is or what band now). Probably just a very short lived promotional idea.

Someone, on a favor from someone at Virgin, has sourced a copy of an internal dubplate bootleg made by The Chems themselves, "used by The Chemical Brothers as the foundation of live shows in 1990s" ... " sampling Beatles, Unique 3 etc and blending with their tunes."

He's a money grabbing b*st*rd isn't he? He should treasure it and/or rip it to Youtube.
"thanks for the gift, now I'm gonna sell it and get rich".
I wonder if the Chems are a bit too niche for this item to get anything like £1k on any site other than Discogs. I get the impression that if you have rare shit by a big name artist like U2 or Coldplay you might get big money on ebay, but perhaps not so much for smaller artists.
It seems that Discogs are banning the sale of bootlegs left right and centre these days. Seems a real shame considering Discogs was started as a database for obscure dance 12"s. I'm pretty sure bootlegs have always been a part of the dance scene.
Anyway what you could do is flag this item up to Discogs. They then ban it's sale. Then contact the seller by PM and offer him £50 for it.
Is this mean? Any meaner than what he's doing?
I get charging a bit high since it's literally a one of a kind handmade thing by the Chems... but it's the same as getting a CD signed then flogging it online for insane prices. Shitty.
I messaged him asking for a better description of the item, and audio samples. If it's just mashups we've already heard released on Brothers Gonna Work It Out, Anti Nazi, etc. then this is just a collectors item and I'm not bothered.
Some of The Chem's personal synths have been auctioned in the past, but that was for charity so the prices were for a good cause at least!
Agreed, this looks like a sham. Even if it was authentic and all, but €1,1k is utter bollocks. Perhaps I'm just a shitty fan..
We'll see...
I think it's just a test presses for some dj'sets from some pre-album period. Maybe it's really from Surrender or CWU era, or at least PTB.
So the guy got back to me. It's mashups from their DJ sets around 1996-1998. He has sent a few samples, reuploaded here if you want (http://www.mediafire.com/file/pbcu0ja6m9brrt0/chemsdubplatesamples.zip). Four of are clips of mashups found on Brothers Gonna Work It Out, and the other is a 4 minute clip of the HBHG / Jungle Brothers / Sgt Pepper's mashup from Anti-Nazi.
I can't say it's the real deal though - every sample clip he shared had nothing in it that you can't already hear on Anti-Nazi or Brothers Gonna Work It Out. He could be taking clips from those mixes and passing them off as from this record, as a scam, easily. The only difference is some record crackle that's not present in the originals, but that's not hard to fake.
His clip of HBHG even starts directly after Big Beat Souffle fades out of the mix on Anti Nazi. Seriously if he'd started the clip just 5 seconds earlier he could prove it's the real deal, but he didn't.
I think this is a scam, can't say conclusively though. Anyone want to push for more detail or just leave it be?
Well, if the likelihood is high of it being just the same as other mixes we've all heard and listened to already, I don't know why I would want another copy of them with an egregious price tagged on to it. I agree with you, that all sounds dubious.
Anyone win the lottery lately? This ones for you!

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I don't want to open a new thread...
Vinyl record collectors, I need some advice. I just sold my first record on eBay. It's a valuable USED record (not Chems) and I just realized I have zero experience in shipping vinyl records. It's going to Europe and I'm from U.S. so any helpful advice on how to properly pack the item so the customer is highly satisfied would be greatly helpful.
Very thick cardboard (or two layers) that is larger than the record, seal the edges with gaffer tape (or something like that), would be my advice. On the other hand, i have also received vinyls in pizza boxes - but that was from germany to germany
what about removing the record from the album sleeve in the shipping process? I've never received a used record in this way (haven't really bought a used record via shipping in 10+ years), but I realize we now live in climate where everyone is hyper sensitive about the condition of all contents involved.
I think I still have some thick cardboard vinyl album mailers from previous purchases, which I believe can be reused as long as it doesn't have a business logo of any sort.
I used to work at a record shop and we got all kinds of busted boxes that made my heart bleed. Those that arrived with pristine looking records inside had most if not all of the following protective measures:
- Thick cardboard in front of and behind the record for added stability (makes bending the box harder)
- Bubble wrap around the record (and sometimes around the cardboard in front and behind too)
- Corner padding on the inside (you can DIY those by cutting up thick cardboard strips and bending them in an L shape
- Sturdy box - standard record mailers are okay, but a flat box is ideal since you can add more stuffing (either newspaper or foam beans) in there
- Plastic tape in generous amounts on every edge and seam - the paper kind does not have as strong of a hold
- If you want to go overkill: add outer edge protection and wrap the box in bubble wrap. If anything happens to that record now, it's definitely not your fault.
I'd also recommend taking out the record for shipping - no matter how careful you are with your packaging, seam splits are the easiest form of damage to happen to your record during transit. If it has a printed inner sleeve, leave that one in the record cover and put the record in a lined inner sleeve. A thick plastic sleeve is also nice for additional protection of your record cover + record, and your buyer will be very happy that they don't need to sleeve it up themselves. Sorry for the longer text, but I think all these measures are crucial. I don't know which delivery agent you will choose to ship your vinyl, but from what I've seen at that job, FedEx and UPS are f#cking brutal. For a long journey like that it is absolutely better to be safe rather than sorry
That was amazing! I appreciate the detailed response.
The package will be delivered/processed through eBay's International Shipping program. But I will use USPS (United States Postal Service) 'Media Mail' (fully insured), as the intermediary.
What this?

From my end, I'll let the buyer know once they paid if they want their minty album separated. Break the plastic off, place record in anti-static sleeve, place album cover in a clear record sleeve, protect with bubble wrap, place insert, ship in record mailers, done.
I'm near ocd when buying records now! Good to have preserved and pristine records in your collection, and i want to reciprocate that to buyers as well.
I echo instantreigen comments on shipping! i use to get issues only when ordering overseas (seam splits aka my copy of C.H.E.M.I.C.A.L.) but i stopped cold turkey from doing that, so now I mostly order from reputable shops on disocgs or ebay that are within or close to my area (Las Vegas seems to be my go-to as of lately.) and they seem to have a good eye to what records I like , fast shipping, and fair prices.
I took a break last summer from ebay, and now im back into it again.

If the tracklist from Discogs is correct, it has to be the Roundhouse 2015 gig (minus the Reel).
Weird though that they used MAH as cover art then.

Look at the Reviews down the bottom of the link. It says "seems to be from Worthy Farm, Pilton, England in June 28th, 2015". That's Glastonbury 2015 (https://forum.thechembase.com/index.php/topic,62.0.html).
I think we had both a crowd-free recording and also the BBC live broacast audio (and video).
I wouldn't be surprised if the bootlegger nicked the audio from this very forum!
No Reel cos it was a festival.
EDIT: Of course that Discogs comment could be wrong, and maybe it is the Roundhouse without the Reel...
You're right, there also was a Glastonbury broadcast that year, but the set list also mentions Snow/STA, which was only played at the Roundhouse. The festival set list in 2015 had TSU instead.
