So earlier today @ChemBros prematurely (presumably) tweeted a link confirming a headlining show on September 24th at the Roundhouse London as a part of the Apple Music Festival. The link also included details that said "streaming live". It is now gone obviously...
Um, egg-cite?
EDIT (...4 hours later):
https://twitter.com/ChemBros/status/639181064804524032
Did you click any of the links when the text sent? Right now t.co/x0Ln9Qe4vt/s/beal brings me to an iTunes download page. I think it's supposed to link to a related Apple Music Festival app but it's not detecting that I have iTunes.
The second link t.co/boMLtACIXw/s/SB55 seems to be a url of the deleted tweet itself.
OOOOHHH! I've been to some good itunes gigs there in previous years (Primal Scream, Vampire Weekend, Elbow, Paul Simon, Placebo).
The iTunes Festival used to be every day for a whole month but this year it has been renamed the Apple Music Festival and it's just ten gigs. They already announced four of them (One Direction, Disclosure, Pharrell, Florence & The Machine), but not the rest. Will keep an eye out!
How it works: Once you are logged in to itunes, you need to go to the itunes store and look for the 'festival' banner at the top. Click on the banner to win a pair of tickets (no more). You cannot buy tickets.
You can't really buy tix on the black market either, as you have to bring photo ID that matches the "winning" name for the tickets.
I'm away on holiday when this is on and I am very grumpy about it.
You can watch these gigs on live stream incidentally. You can usually watch them back afterwards too on the itunes store/site. And sometimes the whole gig ends up on Youtube: Primal Scream did (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OASvhLy3Y-A)
Tweet is back up.

Good news! They can do a great video footage from show!
But i don't have itunes and don't want to install it, so i'll wait for rip if the stream will be available.
Woo! One more recording!
Yes! awesome news! But i'm going to see them in december, Sonar Buenos Aires... I hope changes in the setlist, everyone will know how the show and I think that's a bummer for some people. I know the Glastonbury's show was transmitted and there was no changes...
Another tweet

Just entered, fingers crossed! Hope they add more UK dates. I guess this date does however decrease the chance of more in London or the south this year!
Have just entered too , . . . i will be so excited if I get to go ::)

There will be a second tour (an arena tour). This still count as a date in the festival tour

Yeah. They'll tour in the spring.
Brixton Academy is the only venue I can think of (other than Roundhouse) where they'd have enough space though, which is disappointing. That place is a shit hole. It sounds AWFUL in that hall.
They wouldn't do Wembley or the O2 would they?
I'd LOVE to see them at Koko but it's just not big enough for them.
I'm in love with the Koko
Yeah, this show is going to bring some major exposure. I have to imagine it will bolster any plans of an arena/ headlining tour leading into next year.
They could even elongate the exposure of 'Born In the Echoes' with a deluxe type B-Side album release. Include some live videos or sound recordings from the festival circuit they did this summer, BITE era B-sides, official remixes, brief interviews with collaborators, a new DJ mix. The list could go on...
They could do more U.S. shows as well!!!!!!!!!!!!
but that won't happen
Yeah, you'd think the info on that old "penniless interview" would be completely outdated considering how far electronic music has come in the last 8 years here in America. I think they could tour the US and easily come out in the green.
It may be a lucrative venture, but that might not be a priority at their age. I'll be happy with a return to Coachella. Remember, it takes place over two weekends now! So that would be two shows!
MOARRR SHOWSSS!!! MOARRR FUN!!!!

Brixton Academy is the scene of most of the best gigs of my life. I agree the sound isn't perfect but ugh, try Wembley Arena. It's a soulless aircraft hangar. I'll take Brixton over Wembley any day. Don't want the O2 either. So much of it is seated - That's fine when you're going to a Roger-Waters-does-Dark-Side-Of-The-Moon gig (and I have) but not so great for the Chems. There is another London option - Alexandra Palace. Prodigy already played there this year (I was there) and I've seen LCD Soundsytem and a bunch of other people there too. Capacity circa 8000. The fact that I live nearby has NOTHING to do with it!

Do you mean the show that they're touring or the itunes show in particular? If you mean the itunes show in particular, then I would only partly agree. Lots of artists have played the itunes festival and it does them no harm but I don't think it massively boosts ticket sales.
As regards forthcoming indoor dates, Bestival comes up next weekend. I think after that, the Chems will be free to announce indoor gigs. I still haven't given up hope of UK gigs (other than Apple/itunes) before Christmas.

I don't remember where I posted it but Tom says they "are coming up with plans" for 2016. No idea what they are yet. We're all speculating a proper headline tour though.

Yeah, I meant the added exposure that iTunes will provide, will help encourage a future tour for next year.
It might not make an immediate impact to ticket sales per say, but showing the public on a wide range media platform like iTunes for free, will certainly stir people's interest for the future. Thus, increasing demand for their LIVE experience. It will ultimately be up to Tom and Ed (and Adam) how they want to pursue it.
Since this will be the first non-festival live recording since ages, we might have a chance at a recording of The Reel :-D

Must've slipped past me, but I haven't read all interviews. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed for a show in Austria, or at least somewhere I can afford to travel.

I think it was during one of those radio interviews, either on BBC or Triple J, where Tom sort of confirmed they would be touring and Ed might be back "next" year.
Quote from: Enjoyed on Sep 04, 2015, 21:02

I believe the hope's justified here because they tend to play BRB at festivals more often as the closer than on their own shows when the Reel is in their list of tracks (wasn't it in 2007 where the Reel was almost completely omitted from the sets?). Now that the Reel has been even more brushed up than 2010 I guess it's quite likely they'll be playing it.
Excuse my senior moment, but any ideas how I enter? I am logged in to iTunes Store within the iTunes software. Whenever I click 'Win Tickets' it launches me to the 'Connecting to Itunes Store' web page.
I want to enter!
Apparently you have to be a UK resident to enter the contest
The Brothers just launched a separate competition to win tickets to the Roundhouse show. It seems to be a worldwide thing.
Good luck, folks.
http://zaphod.uk.vvhp.net/vvreg/10400-421997
Their tweets about it mostly say UK only. Probably not worldwide...
Oh boo. Why have the option to choose which country you're from then?
Sorry everyone.
That being said, I just signed up for shits and giggles and it worked without a hitch. Didn't yell at me once for not being American!
If I win a copy, a UK forumite gets it, I promise!
(Unless Android's really hooking us up with plane tickets and that wasn't just the bourbon and drugs talking! ;D)

Could be tricky. The normal apple/itunes process involves bringing along photo ID to match the name. I imagine the same will apply for this.
Glad to see everyone is optimistic about more dates. Bestival is so close to where I live, but can't make it due to baby.
I don't mind Brixton, but there is better London venues. Would like to see them return to Olympia as that was a really good show and venue a few years back, I saw Ed a few weeks after when they were djing at the south bank and he said they enjoyed that one a lot. I get the feeling it was a one off however and maybe it would be a shame to change that, it was special to see they where the surrender art is based.
Apparently Alexander Palace isn't great, plus it's tricky to get to. Would much rather a small venue tour
7pm has been and gone and no congratulations email...

I'm quite sure you won't find this being streamed live on an alternate website so you will need Apple / iTunes etc. People do upload good quality sets from iTunes Festivals on YouTube, so keep a look out on there, some of Ellie Goulding's set (2015) from her appearance on Saturday night is already up.

Hey Sneaker can you show me how? Since you'll be there?
I have an old camtasia studio which I'm trying to get to work. But I have some trouble getting lag-free footage. Doesn't matter what I do, the video capture lags, even if I set it to 30fps.

Please post the Setlist as spoilers, send it just those who want it as PMs.
Apparently the Chems don't start at 8 PM. Hudson Mohawke just started playing.

TPPR's visuals are so beautiful
Lotta camera footage of sexy people... and robots.
WTF??? :)
Audiovisual orgasm
Ok, we now have a soundboard recording of a long time favourite, epic song mashup.
Unfuckingbelievable! :o
This was epic
:o
In some kind, this was better than "Don't Think" film. Better camera shot, Snow+STA, Encore, Adam dancing like robot, Tom singing and singing.
But. I don't like how Tom working with FX now, my ears was bleeding sometimes.
;D Masters at work , that was fucking amazing ! ! ! ;D

Shoot, I knew this was coming up but forgot it was today. Probably in class while it happened. Ah well, diving in now (on my phone, since I'm a tad hesitant about upgrading to the new iTunes).
Also I think I can guess at the answer based on Ben_j's post above, but just wanted to make sure: we've properly archived this, right? It seems like a special gig and iTunes won't be hosting it forever.
(And thanks Stefan, it never occurred to me that those robot voices could be vocodered Richard Ashcroft. Even in person I was like "'we are... ???... yes it is'????" And that's one of my favorite Chems songs!)

I know I just saw T & A a few weeks ago in NYC but... I already miss them cause of this. Didn't catch the live stream cause of research papers and classes (Ed, You're not alone). May get a chance tomorrow. I will consider that my birthday present (30!) considering I'll drowning in paper writing on Sunday.
Also, I miss the Roundhouse. After moshing to Squarepusher and tripping out to Despacio, all this hits in the feels. And considering it was a 10 minute bus from where I used to live and 5 minute walk to Brewdog...THE FEELS!!!
Did anyone capture the "chat" with Julie Adenuga on Beats1 previous to the show tonight.?

The audio...it's almost too clean. Loving this tonight, wheeeeee!! Video production is amazing.
I'm late to the party but damn, good ass picture quality here. It's like Don't Think 2.0! Superstar dj's ......HERE WE GO!
Edit... Was that a new fx Tom threw in during the transition of swoon/SG? That was crazy! :o
Amazing show.
I have a quick and dirty audio rip of the show I'll share if you guys NEED IT NOW (it stutters a bit at the start, there's some peaking in the first two tracks, and I had to chop out part of the crowd noise between BRB - TPPR to make it fit on my SD card).
But I'll get a proper quality rip in the next 24hrs.
Mantears when i heard the new and improved beginning of Snow/STA! :'(

Scroll down and click on the chemical bros banner
Now find the chemical bros banner with the play icon at the bottom right corner.
Enjoy
Thanks InChem - I was checking that and it wasn't showing up. Turns out I just needed to restart iTunes.
Audio rip coming y'alls way.
It would be a damn shame for fans if this was removed from iTunes. Slap a price tag on it and make me pay for it if need be. Just don't remove it. The quality is too good, and I don't want to revisit the set via a bootleg recording (though I appreciate those who made the effort).
The video was ridiculously amazing. If they don't release it for download (paid or not) (and they need to because it's just that good) here's hoping we can get a lossless video rip of it. I know Sneaker has some software that works.
I just recorded the video via Geforce Shadowplay. Currently sitting on an 11gb MP4 that needs some slight editing, since part of the recording is me switching out of the Stick of Truth to get the recording started.
Any ideas re. file format for and where to selectively host the finalized file?
Damn, that was good! Ears are still suffering this morning! Been a few years since I've seen them - didn't get to any of the Further shows - but just seems to get better and better every time. The new stuff fits seamlessly, loved SS/OOC, Snow/STA, Sympathy for the Devil samples in the Reel. Balloons! Confetti! Big f*&^ off robots!
Great to meet up with forumites for the first time - hope you made it home safely Sneaker and Acidchildren.
Now to watch it all again!

Based on previous experience it might come to that. You'd think Apple would think up something to do with all that HD footage of beloved bands but they just kinda yank it down after awhile.
Anyway I've finished watching it now (all fancy in the designated iTunes Festival part of my Apple TV!) and am appropriately stunned. Such a well-executed performance, the bros (well, bro and temporary bro) were clearly loving every second of it. The new Born In The Echoes version of "Snow / Surface To Air" is sublime! Envelops the audience like a subconscious ocean and just lets them drift on the tempo for awhile. And since it took the place of "The Sunshine Underground" I guess that means I was present for a rare live return of that one (it worked better in an outdoor venue than this would have anyway - have to admit I'll miss the laser frenzy).
Was hoping against hope that we'd get Reflexion / something else in addition to the Reel for the post-BRB encore but ah well. Especially since they've done such a good job of turning everything after "Believe" into a little mini if-we-have-to-fit-into-festival-time-constraints encore anyway! That helped with Surface To Air too - it was allowed to go back to its comfy post-"Believe" breather position from the We Are The Night tour while keeping all that stateliness (and new breathy vocals) from the Further era, and build it towards that neat new clubbed-up "Escape Velocity" intro instead of something less mellow like "Hoops" or "Under The Influence".

And it was good to see you again Rich "ACIDCHILDREN" it's has had been a while! Funny meeting these people who go to the gigs, our paths have crossed many times!
I love the Chems at The Roundhouse, I've seen them there 4 times now. it is the most perfect venue to see them in, the place was build for them. The venue is so intimate and the show is so absorbing. I was at the first show on this tour at Luxembourg, which was a great show but lacked the atmosphere that you get in the proper small venue. The Robots looked massive last night!
Looks like great footage form the roundhouse and have managed to extract 4 video streams off of iTunes. These are exact rip, not re-encoded, 1080 at 12gb and I have demuxed the audio, it's old school mp2 128 Kbps 48khz

Alright! Got the live rip/stream online! The only thing here that there are a few really small hick-ups. I think its because I had to stitch/combine 684 small files together. I'm going to try and sort this out. If you want the download links (4x wetransfer links) PM me, and i'll send them to you. (total size 6,9 GB, divided into 4 rar files).
Edit: sorted!
Sorry if some of you guys are already downloaded the lot, but tomorrow i'm going to make a new batch. The problem is the conversion (muxing) into .mkv. The next one is going to be the original stitched .ts file. Sorry for the hassle!
If of interest, the single track cuts will be up later tonight.
Sorry for my first upload of the Roundhouse show. It had a couple of nasty hick-ups. I uploaded a second version, without the tiny hick-ups. This time not an .mkv but a .ts file. Most mediaplayers like VLC (windows & OSX) or MPC-HC (windows) can play these files just fine! DM me for the links! Again sorry for making people downloading twice... :-[

Firstly it was really great to meet graysquire and of course see the Sneakerbeater again - great lads.
As Sneak said great venue that works really well for the brothers. The previous occasions I have seen them there it's been very good, but on this occasion it was particularly good - well done to Apple and thanks to the Chems and Errol for everything.
Loved the harder edge live show, was also great to here lots of snippets from different tracks that didn't get played fully, mashing the likes of setting sun, ebw7 and OOC during the set was good. Must say I particularly enoughed I'll see you there. Also great to here lots of classic 808/909/303 sounds. Star guitar was also beautiful. My only disappointment was not to hear reflexion.
Over all this is certainly up there with the best shows I've seen by the Chems. It was also nice to here comments from other audience members saying how good they were (lots of Chems virgins). One thing that I admire about this band is the quality of the live show and how whoever sees them is always impressed. Well done Ed, Tom and Adam

Exactly what I did.... ;) This is the source. I downloaded the live stream, and the one which is now in iTunes. I compared them and besides the intro from the version you can still watch in iTunes, and the "real" live stream from yesterday, they are the same. At this time I don't think there is a better rip then this one.... I can send you the download links if you want, just PM me.

On the PC you have this program "url-snooper". This wil let you show all the internet traffic, including the stream url from iTunes. So when you play the show, url-snooper shows you the url's, and also all the media files you are downloading

Good question!
If you ask me, I'm not picky at all. I usually hope that one person might rip the show but its not a high expectation for me. But we have a lot of good people here on this forum that are willing to do it. It's good for those who never been to a show or couldn't make it.
That being said, shout out to all (toxic,Csar,Ben,sneak, etcetc) who do it not just for the obvious kindness, but for the love of this awesome band!

It looks like the cuurent visual extravaganza is way too big for a small venua like Roundhouse what makes it that much more overwhelming.
I see Glako resurfacing again. Cool to see old forummembers returning again (I know a Dutch girl who will be returning soon ;))
Thanks so much for Toxic to make this amazing video. It looks more gorgeus than the live recording (no buffering). Tomorrow I will watch it on my 48" but on the laptop it looks great. The audio is great too. I hear the same stereo nuances as I did last night.
Also Csar for the audiorip for my mp3 player

Ok, I guess I did this in vain, since Benji will have the 1:1 rip, but it was uploading already, so here's my take on the track by track cut. If you like the cuts I could redo this with the source audio (I saved the cue sheet).
https://www.sendspace.com/file/6vlwew
My Smartscreenfilter won't let me download this, calls it an "unsafe download"
I'm stupid with computers (and I'm old) so I'm happy you can help me out with this kind of recordings. If a better video pops up I will download is as well. And I wil propably make a bluray out of it. As well as making a double cd of the audio only once I cut the the set in seperate tracks.
EML Ritual and I'll see you there are great live. UTI is amazing, Music: Response is cool, the encore is top, would have been sublime with Reflexion before TPPR.
But OH MY GOD!!! The new SNOW/SURFACE TO AIR brings tears to my eyes evertime I hear it (4 times now). It is ab-so-lut-ly beautifull. And for my it is the very bestes (too little superlatives) piece of music the Tom and Ed ever have produced. I am so much in love woth this version, I can not describe it. *bows his head in awe*
How do I go about getting a link to the video stream again. Not working for me on iTunes. Loving the MP3 that was posted. Thanks.

Open iTunes
You'll see a banner that says apple mucic festival with some random artist on it....click on it anyway.
Scroll down and click on the chemical bros banner
Now find the chemical bros banner with the play icon at the bottom right corner.

This picture in the tweet below makes me think there was a video interview with Zane Lowe.

Anyways, I think some of that interview (which I cannot locate) was made into an mini preview video. It's available on the Apple Music Festival Chemical Brothers stream page on iTunes, which I did not see previously.

I haven't figured out how to play the damn thing yet off Itunes. I sort of got it to work for a second but then it disappeared.
Thank god you guys recorded it
Edit: Fuck, figured it out somehow. But I just realized its 1am and I need to get some sleep. Getting that stream to work was a huge mistake
Edit 2: Am I the only one that's sick of the superimposed visuals they use for broadcasts? I feel like it detracts from the show. I just want to watch the screen and the lasers, damnit. But the production is on par with Dont Think.

The show was just chaw dropping (actually I had an idea for a t-shirt when going to a chems gig at mostly EDM festivals: "The Chemical Brothers - The only thing that'll drop tonight is your chaw" :D)! But I also think they could have done less fast editing. I understand that it's tempting cause of the show's mad psychedelic nature one might want to underscore but it can get unnerving. Overall, they did a great job though. The audio, the hd, everything was top notch. But Don't Think in my eyes can't be compared to this because it's in a league by itself.

I want to play that version of Snow/Surface to Air at my wedding. Beautiful.
Speaking of which and sorry to get off topic, but does anyone have a version of Swoon that might be a bit more family friendly for a wedding? Or maybe even a cool acoustic version of some sort to maybe play during ceremony? Love the Lindstromm & Prins Thomas remix but just trying to see if there is anything else out there that I might not know of. Might just close out the celebration with the original if nothing else.
Love the Chem Community. Keep up the great work. Really appreciate it.

The edit version is radio(family)friendly. More vocals so it sounds a bit like a song.

I agree it's very good footage, but not quite as good as Don't think or some of the BBC Glasto footage.
It was really nice watching it at home having been at the event. It was a good show but I think there were some slightly off bits during the transitions. Having said that there were a lot of tracks mashed together which I thought was awesome. Also really thought it was a nice touch with the tribute made to Stuart James.

The Glasto footage is ruined by the flags tbh... I prefer the Roundhouse footage a lot more, because no flags, and a much smaller venue, so no shots from far away from the stage :)

Agreed, Don't Think is on a different league. But of many footage's I have seen, to me this one, it's one the "cleanest" in a matter of speaking, it's like more intimate and feels like you're part of it, which it's awesome ;D.

It's in 256k AAC, just like the audio I ripped from the video
Watched the video on my 48" and hifi set. The video is clean as a whistle. It mat not be the best but I have seen many blurays with worse video. And the audio is sharp too. You can really hear the play with stereo and volume.
And I know it's a stereo recording but adding the woofer gives it so much more intensety and the rear speakers really add to the viewing experience.
I love the Apple music setlist, the video and audio is great. But I like Don't Think better as a viewing experience. Allthough the shots at the Apple festival are well done, the overview of the stage, the "on the controls" view, the visuals over the shot (those running men during SS/OOC aren't even on the big screen display, and even the shots some of the faces in the audience make it a very well shot show. But there are just too much people making signs in the camera or making selfies in the audience.
So Don't Think is the better video. Audio only Apple festival wins by far. And that all because of TPPR and the new Snow/Surface to air which I absolutely adore and is my favortite Chemical Brothers production of all time.
Yes Ben_j I agree about the flags! Some of the phones and cameras are irritating in the Apple footage, but all in all very good.
Once again, thank you Benji and Toxic for making it possible to rewatch this in home theaters! Even though the live shows have already been awesome this year, this set is really refreshing. It easily demonstrates what I've always loved about the chems' live performances: their talent to tweak their album tracks and their devotion to changing things during their tours. It's not like just turning on the play button and just play a potpourri of their album songs. Almost no show is like the other. This is one of those shows that truely goes beyond the "routine" (of the first shows) like they've always done in later runs of their tours (think of AMMC or Das Spiegel, TPWHYN into WATN, My Elastic Eye etc.).
While Snow/ Surface to AIr is an obvious standout and instant classic, I've also fallen instantly in love with the new Escape Velocity transition. That altered synth is fecking HUGE! Especially when it goes 2 octaves deeper it sends shivers down my spine. And don't mention TPPR. Damn, since they spiced it up with the Stones I've always been wanting a clean recording of that - and finally, 5 years later we got lucky!
I'm so glad this show has been captured in this crisp and impeccable quality, it makes me even more wish we had this for older sets too. The chems should go down the Sigur Rós golden path and release their sets on a public ftp for many fans to enjoy. There are too many live gems that now live a lonesome life behind a chemical sofa!
The best way to experience the Chems live show is..

The time marker you gave is Music Response and the breakbeat drum sample between EBW8 and EB is probably coming from the same drum kit/ sample loop they used for EBW8 with just another pattern which they, by the way, should have used in Saturate from the very beginning. I can't believe (pun intended) they didn't.
I have always assumed it was their placeholder drum loop when developing the song
Brought this to a friend's house over the weekend. We got high, plugged my laptop into the big screen, turned out the lights, cranked up the volume, and just melted... Everyone was staring at the screen stonefaced for the entire 2 hours.
Thanks again Toxic!

Absolute legend! What a set!
Ran into some trouble here, :(
does anyone have the files to the show in a different file format than .ts? the audio channel wont show up in my video editor for some odd reason. demuxing didnt do a thing.
So besides Greysquire, Sneaker and Acid Children, somebody else from the forum did go to the Roundhouse that night...me!
Looks like lots of people got excited at the time of the gig. This thread was three pages long the last time I saw it prior to gig. The next time I looked it had jumped to fourteen pages. Mind you I did have about a month off from the forum.
Judging by Errol's response to my email, I think I may have been the first to confirm success. So he knows I am grateful. I took a friend along who wasn't as grateful as I expected, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the shit out of the gig.
I wasn't on the forum on the day of the gig (the New Order album had just leaked and I was getting excited about it elsewhere) so I didn't know who had got tickets. I looked around me about half way through the gig trying to magically guess who was there from the forum, but funnily enough I didn't have a clue! Judging by Greysquire's photos he was a bit further back than me. I was pretty near the front and slightly to the left.
I went on to the Apple website about a week after the gig, y'know just for the memories. There was an additional clip to the main show: A couple of cute chicks around 20 or 21 talking about how they go to a Chems gig to have a good time (no! really??), intercut with T&A talking about preparing for the gig and Adam doing his "best summer job" line. Not essential admittedly but I thought it was worth a mention. Just went back on Apple music now; I can find a bunch of those festival gigs but not the Chems one, so maybe too late...
Thoughts on the gig? In short: Fuck Yeah!
Longer version: Nice and loud, happy crowd, loved the visuals and the robots, danced my ass off.
Other thoughts:
The live (basically original) version of Deserted really worked with the volume up. Probably the first track that really got me moving on the night. It made me re-think my love for the Skream mix which had just come out. This may sound obvious but it's a really good dance tune (as opposed to a head trip). It just really works.
Snow/STA was the one part of the gig where I went: Huh? What is this celestial thing? Somehow I hadn't noticed the "Please help the world you're living in..." vox at the beginning, so it was those heavenly Snow vocals over...something I didn't recognise at first. When I eventually recognised STA, the spine tingling just got bigger and better. A real highlight of the gig for me.
That shiny confetti stuff? It was like a carpet on the hard Roundhouse floor by the time it had finished falling. For those of us who dance with our feet (rarer than you'd think) it was kinda slippy.
Did I see a theramin being used at some point or did I imagine that?
It's a bit of a shame that there isn't more proper live playing. I know it simply isn't possible for a lot of this stuff, but for example the keys on the live Star Guitar could surely be played by hand, couldn't they? Having said that I'm aware that Tom had a bit of fun with the stop/start stuff during the Reel. Hell, everybody had fun during the Reel.
Also, Glavanize and BRB both still really work as end-of-set tunes to make the fans happy.
When I got home that night, a couple of pieces of confetti fell out of my shirt as I was taking it off. It was only then that I realised my shirt was actually soaked through with sweat. The mark of a good gig, I reckon. Thanks Errol and Tom & Adam.
Ps: I took some pix which I've just transferred from my phone (prompting this post, two months late) but they're not as good as Greysquire's.
T&A are in there somewhere

Several questions:
Csar, thanks for the audio; I grabbed the first version. Is the second louder version actually better?
Who do i grab the whole audio visual thing from?
Whitenoise, who did you think the special guest was going to be ? Beck? Was there a plan that you knew of that didn't come to fruition?
The special guest was simply the supporting act Hudson Mohawke which played before the Chems.
(All gigs at the Apple Music Festival had their supporting acts listed as special guest).

The first cut of the two versions was a recording I did with my soundcard and then splitted into indivual tracks and the second one is from Benji's direct source material. So, in terms of best sound quality the second version might be it. I only raised the volume by 1,5 db. My own recording might be a tad louder because of the settings I used in the software. But since Benji's audio is the original one you might want to get the second version.
Thanks Csar. :)

Yep, am aware - I caught HudMo on the night. But WN seemed to be suggesting that he knew something further (I guess not though):

That special guest might be showing up in the show itself... wink wink.
I think this statement from Whitenoise was guesswork and whishful thinking, based on the announcement of the special guest. Which sounded reasonable, until I noticed that all artists at the AMF were announced with a special guest.
Stefan's right. It was wishful thinking, although it was also guesswork based on not entirely unreasonable grounds.
One time in Chicago... ;D

Definitely Beck. Thought it was going to be Beck. Tom told me in Chicago they were rehearsing Wide Open and planned on debuting it at this concert. He didn't mention Beck appearing on stage with them though, that was me filling in blanks/guessing.
It's possible there were plans to have Beck come on, but they fell through and the live rendition they were rehearsing depended on him being there. Or Beck wasn't in the works at all, and T and A decided Snow/Surface To Air was a better choice.

Aha! Thank you, that's more or less what I suspected. Did you have a long chat with Tom?
Any chance someone can post a video file of the show again? My file stopped at 65.5% due to the lack of seeds.
Anyone know where I can purchase the full session video and or music from the Apple Music Festival 2015 in London set of the Chemical Brothers? I can find snippets online, but would like to own it. The music and video are outstanding! I went out and immediately purchased the Born in the Echoes album, but the mix of old and new, and the live improves from the group left me mesmerized. Some artists sold their sets as video albums, but I never saw anything from my favorite electronic duo!
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or passes the message along to the top.
Thanks!
Mat

Soundcloud's quality is gonna be terrible and the best part of the show is the visual element too, better shot than anything except Don't Think, arguably.
PM me!
well then thats all I've got. sorry about that :(
Thank you. I think it would be a cool video album too. The video work is amazing. I love just listening to it, but I get mesmerized when watching the video. I have never seen a video of a concert that seemed cooler than being at the venue -- but this may have been it.

Im almost done working on separating tracks, I'll PM you when Im done.
Back up on YT again, so watch it while you can!

One of the best live performances imo. "Snow Surface" and that specific version of Escape Velocity/ Golden Path is the pinnacle of encores for me so far.
I don't know how to record off YT but if anyone does and wants to DM me a DL of that vid I'd be eternally grateful!
Digging up the old thread about this gig, the recording is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime:

You'll have to subscribe to a channel, but don't worry, just watch the video during the 7-day trial period and simply cancel the channel before it ends, that way you won't have to pay anything.
