Had a feeling they might do bugged put there this year - was hoping for live but happy to take DJ!
Wonder if its 3 hours again - supports are out next week
Oooo This is exciting news and sounds like a super fun way to celebrate 30 years! Plus there is the hope of maybe hearing something new. DJ sets are always special and we get to hear what they've been listening to and curating for us. This would be amazing to go to!
Quote from: whirlygirl on Jul 24, 2024, 15:28Plus there is the hope of maybe hearing something new.
XDUST13 you say?
Not bad! Wonder who the guest(s) are ... Erol b2b someone maybe
Think justice dj would be a bit big for it probably!
You know, with such a killer lineup and celebrating 30 years, it would be pretty neat to put together some type of official compilation. Furthermore, can we get an official stream or recording of the event?
As someone who resides on the wrong side of the world, it's come clear to me I will never be able to attend an event like this. With all the available technology, can we just ONCE gift the people stuck at home a look/listen in to what we are missing?
^ Seconded.
Boiler Room has been doing it for ages.
Finger Lickin' did a couple of years back for their big anniversary party - it was great tuning in from home!
I'd likely even pitch in a few quid for "digital access", like I did when I "attended" a K-Pop concert back in the pandemic.
And a compilation would be cool, BUT I would hope it could be a collection of new or unreleased things by the big BUGGEDout names. Or maybe remixes of each other or something fun like that? We don't really need a Spotify playlist type compilation of the BEST TRACKS (most listened to) from each artist. Because that could just be... a Spotify playlist.
Hope they'll drop the "Too Hot" and somebody will record if 🙏
confirmed 3 hour set for this + bristol
Quote from: gfa2001 on Sep 17, 2024, 18:14confirmed 3 hour set for this + bristol
Where did you get the info this is a 3 hour set? If so I might make the trip. Bristol is just a bit too inconvenient
Seriously planning on going now Erol Alkan and 2Manydj's are also confirmed. Also Simian Mobile Disco, Justin Robertson, Modeselektor and James Holroyd. That's a massive line-up, propably most will be playing at the same time.

The Bristol venue posted it for there, then i asked about London and ed replied confirming it
3 hours is their standard to be fair, not too surprising

The second and third room are pretty small at Drumsheds, most of the bigger acts tend to be in the main room. Check out the set times for last year's Bugged Out
Flight booked, entree tickets booked, AirBnB booked. Toxic and I will represent NL
Who else is going?

Oh no, please don't remind me. We are a different breed of Dutch.Gabba is our jam 😆
Quite bizar to already get your groove on at 7:30pm and be outside at 11 which normally is not even the start of my night clubbing

Drumsheds is a bit in the middle of nowhere - it hardly ever goes beyond 11pm.
Questions for Drumsheds previous visitors: how is the venue? Can you leave the premises during the event? Are there food stations? Thanks for responding and any other tips.
:-(
I can't make this now, so let me know if anyone needs a ticket at face value £49.95 ONO.

videos seem broken :)
Great show - loved the bugged out flyers at the end!
Simian Mobile Disco were great as well, hadn't managed to catch them, as were 2manydjs / erol - they opened with HBHG which was quite a good laugh
Must say that Charli XCX / HBHG mix sounded good on videos i'd seen but did not translate well in real life unfortunately!
So much HBHG teasing in tbe first hour as well - was driving me a bit insane!

Yeah the videos work for me (logged in). Looks like you've captured Insta stories. There may be more worth capturing, so don't give up!
Remember when C.H.E.M.I.C.A.L used to be an intro track to their DJ sets? Sounds like they've come up with a new one. I'm trying to figure out if I recognise the vocalist...
It's worth checking the individual Instagram accounts of the clips that the Chems have re-posted. Sometimes the original person has more clips on their Insta stories than the Chems grab.
I think they finished with Going Back To My Roots by Richie Havens - an old fave of the Chems.
EDIT: buggedoutclub also worth checking on Insta.
That new intro song is a tune!!! Hope that releases!
With the DJ sets announced for South America, I hope they announce a few more before they start playing live again. Heard through the grapevine that they were reached out to to backfill for Massive Attack at iii Points Festival in Miami but couldn't make it work. I would love a DJing tour.

Recognise faster, because i'm ready in 5, 4, 3, 2...

I hope this is not generated by AI.
I don't hink so. Tom would rather sing by himself and then squeeze it through every gear he has to make it sound like what we hear in those clips
Unlikely theory: They've worked with Charli XCX - because why would they take her vocals and pump them on HBHG and even change the lyrics of HBHG to loop "hey girl". Tom & Ed are not mainstream enough to just drop Charli XCX in their sets only because everyone does. On the other hand: they're not following her on Insta (which in my world was always a good sign they've worked with someone when they followed them on Insta (btw they follow nick cave...)).
Or maybe Kelly Lee Owens? Even though her voice sounds completely different. But remind you, our first guess on who sings on Live Again was Ellie Rowsell, turns out it was Halo Maud and Ellie was on Feels Like I'm Dreaming (still want to hear more of that studio session with Ellie - you hear that Mr. Rowlands and Mr. Simons?)
Or Lorde? I still believe she had sung all of This Is Not A Game (and it would have been a perfect song) but record company forced all to ditch most of her vocals in favour of Miguel.
Kittenkiller, but:

Plenty of far less mainstream artists have been Charli XCX this summer, I wouldn't read into it much.
I've seen them live 10 times, but goddammnit I crave to witness a DJ set at least once.

Ha! Ok It's Grandma Funk. She sees you baby, shakin that ass.
Actually I don't think it
is her, but I get a similar vibe.
On CHEMICAL, SIFSD, We've Got To Try and GTKO they used session vocalists from a conpany that I've forgotten the name of. Maybe this is a non-famous session vocalist who we're never gonna guess...

She was there according to her instagram but I don't believe she was DJ-ing. Perhaps now that she has worked with Tom, she is one of his hareem of ladies along with Aurora. I don't think it's her on the vox though.

Yesterday, in theory, would have been perfect me. The 'right' side of London for me, a line up I could only dream of (SMD, Erol Alkan B2B 2 Many DJs, Slam and Eclair Fifi - check out her 2021 Essential Mix on YT or Mixcloud), and there were tickets available on Saturday morning for £38 on Stubhub. Alas, since last December I have been suffering from Vertigo. I used to think Vertigo was a fear of heights but no, that's actually called Acrophobia. Vertigo (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vertigo/) makes me feel like I'm drunk on a ship on the high seas. My balance has been f**ked for nearly a year. So spending all day on my feet in a nightclub wasn't gonna happen...
Anyway... @pumisher well done for capturing clips 2,3,and 4 in your reply #27. All 3 clips seem to be the same track, I'm tempted to call it the Menacing Techno track. It doesn't shazam.
Are we all agreed that it's an unreleased Chems track?
So 2 new tracks? A new funky intro track and a new menacing techno track. Is that a fair summation so far?
I've just got back from my week-end in London. I hadn't logged in or visited this forum in a while, but I had to come back after Saturday ;D
I don't remember when was the last time I saw Tom and Ed live, probably during the No Geography tour, but it was my first DJ set of them. The 3-hour performance had its ups and downs average++, but the last 20 minutes were :luv Does anyone the song they played before Star Guitar ? Is it an unreleased track ?
Erol & 2ManyDjs were also good, I like them more than Modeselektor.

Did you record it? Have you looked at the clips above?
Roland Clark, maybe? (Fatboy Slim "Song for Shelter") The cadence and enunciation seems on, at least.
voice sounds filtered and unnatural

I really wish they would record and release more of these. I actually enjoy their DJ sets more than I do their official releases.

Nah, I was too busy enjoying the moment :partyG
Now I wish I had :(
I don't remember how it sounds, but it is not one of the clips above. Haaa it doesn't matter, I had a good time, that's what I'll remember.

Has anyone discovered what they have samples for the intro track?
I seem to think they played a similar track years ago at Heaven, when they did a back-to-back of soul records with the following dj. But it could be my addled mind.
I didn't know how to capture insta stories on my PC so I did something basic AF on Sunday night: I "filmed" my PC with my phone. Tried uploading it but the forum tells me the file is too large: 0.3GB. So I guess I can't?
@Explud ?
It was 2 tracks. The first track: don't know, didn't sound Chemical. The second track was the same tune as the first clip below.
It seems I have now managed to capture insta stories properly. Yay! Wish I had done this the last time the Chems played Amnesia Ibiza in October 2023, because there was a euphoric sounding track that didn't shazam which sounded really interesting...
Anyway this first clip doesn't sound typically Chemical. A sort of melodic piano trance thing that seemed to get a good crowd reaction (on the clip I can't upload). It doesn't shazam. EDIT: Actually it seems to be Two Shell: Ghosts. Possibly a re-edit?

If you listen to the brassy bits of the intro track and then listen to the brassy bits
in the intro of this old "Northern Soul" track, there seems to be something there. Jump to around 10 or 11 seconds into the track - you can hear that one guitar note too on 11 secs.
EDIT: I think 00.09 to 00:12. Just play that bit over and over, and then go back to the Drumsheds video (circa 2:10 onwards) and compare it.

That Intro so cool, hope this doesn't stay in the same drawer where they put the studio version of Snow/Surface

How did you find this sample?
Quote from: ThePumisher on Nov 16, 2024, 16:40How did you find this sample?
Well I know the tune as track 9 from this Northern Soul compilation (https://www.discogs.com/release/5003748-Various-Northern-Soul-The-Collection). Incidentally, track 10 is I'll Be Loving You by Soul Brothers Six. Coincidence??
EDIT: PS Track 13 is Catch Me I'm Falling. The Chems track of the same name doesn't feature those words in the lyrics. So where did The Chems get the song title from?
Wow already 2 weeks ago. It was a very good day. Heard some BuggedOut classics. Very much FOMO for me so I saw a lot but not everything all the way through.
The Brothers had a very thumping set of which I did not regonise anything except their own work and DBX 'Losing control'. A lot of mash-ups of their tracks and heavy on the EBW's; 1, 6, 7. No idea if they played any new tracks although I had the feeling when/if they did it was mashed with already known tracks. Intro and outro were the most funky, everything in between was pumping.
Fuzzy review, it was a very long day for 2 old(er) Dutchies to go clubbing in the outskirts of London. 😁
P.S. also cool to see Falcon and Braxe live for a bit and SMD djing (Aspic is legendary! )
P.P.S. why is the new Underworld record not in the Soho record stores?
