Playing the Stonebridge Bar (ran by The Social) TBA slot on Friday night (saturday morning) from 01:30-02:45 as part of the Bugged Out takeover.
I have a related story about Stonebridge.

well we caught word that the Chemical Brothers would be playing a DJ set at some bar on Sunday at midnight. This kind of thing happens most years for Stonebridge - its very small and books far beyond its size due to their good connections etc.
Its 2 hours after the headliners finish so planning to make a mad dash over and join the queue and hope for the best!
Sadly didn't make it for this one, was worried about the queue and didn't want to leave my friends.
Turns out it was fine in the end, queue only bad once it got going but not to worry. Someone else i know who went reckons a solo album could be on the way, his words not mine!
Pfff you can always get new friends, but a DJ set by Tom might be something rare.
I wonder what led your mate to the assumption that a solo album might be on the way? Just the fact that Tom did a solo DJ gig or was there something during the set that possibly hinted at upcoming releases?
I will happily put all my hope eggs in the 'Papal Disco makes it onto an album' basket.

Incidentally, a reminder that Tom did do a solo set less than a year ago - for the M Son Of The Century party (https://forum.thechembase.com/index.php/topic,3406.msg36416.html#msg36416) at the Venice film festival. Maybe we'll have to guess that it was similar on Friday?..

I had hoped to go but thought it would have a hideously long queue so didn't in the end (as meant crossing the site and leaving my group). Heard the queue wasn't that bad after all sadly.
Someone I know who went reckons a solo album is coming, not sure if it was just speculation. I will ask if they have any clips!

I went.
It was fire.
He's got some absolute weapons. One of my highlights of the festival without a shadow of a doubt.
Didn't record any of it of course.
A few more details:
He opened with Bob Dylan A Hard rains A-gonna fall, we also got super flash, lack of acid, we are nothing, swoon, no geography, a few others I can't remember and tons I didnt recognise.
It was a really intimate gig, if you've been to stonebridge before you'll know it's not that big and the DJ is right down at the same level as the crowd. Everyone there was very much there to see Tom, and we had a proper party.
I felt very lucky to get to catch it.
Thanks for the report, I can totally understand that you'd rather enjoy the show than record it :)

A new member (SH296?) who signed up here about a week after Glastonbury posted an audio clip in two diferent threads here. Then deleted both posts. Maybe it's the same person as this Redditor?
I don't know why they deleted it. Maybe because there was no response after a day or two?
I didn't reply because I didn't know the answer, but I was curious to see if anybody else had any comments.
The track somehow reminds me of both Chase The Sun (Planet Funk) and Fiddler On The Roof, but I probably can't justify either of those references.
I'm assuming the lead instrument is a sax. And sax + Chems tends to = Colin Stetson. We know that Mr Stetson worked with Tom on the recent M-SOTC soundtrack. I wonder if this could be another product of those sessions?
There seems to be a female vocal there. Doesn't sound especially Chemical overall. Maybe a track due to be released by another artist that Tom got musically involved with?
