THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS are coming to TOULOUSE 🇫🇷 for a 3-HOUR DJ SET on Friday August 22!
A unique and rare date not to be missed.

IT'S MORNING TIME!

Just got my vacation time cleared, time to get tickets and plan a trip  :partyG

I'll be there as well !

The venue is actually one of the parking lots of the Toulouse airport, quite convenient for the trip.

Nice' I'm definitely in for a little forum meetup

Can anyone tell me when Ed and Tom will start their DJ set? Not really at 4 pm, right? It's hard to get any information from the website. We're German, currently on holiday near Montpellier and were told that traffic on Friday will be terrible. We don't want to arrive too late, but also not wait for hours for the Brothers. Please help us, chem Family!

They play at 21:30. The non VIP tickets (mine at least) states that you have to get inside before 18:00, be sure to check what yours says

Just came back, it was nice but I thought it was a very "mainstream" set, with a lot of popular heavy hitters, not as underground as I'd expect from a Chems DJ Set (as opposed to when I saw them at Nuits Sonores a few years ago).

Still very enjoyable, I had not heard any of the new stuff from the recent sets, I loved the opening tune and "Ring the Alarm" (or "Vitinha", since that's what I was initially hearing 🙃)

I recorded the set (quality is okayish) and did some videos, I'll upload later.

Thanks for the report, @Ben_j

I do wonder if DJ sets are the secretly the new temporary LIVE SET. Like @Wolkenkrabber has alluded to, there has noticeably been an upgrade in visual production during DJ sets and what @Ben_j has mentioned, seems to be a focus on popular "heavy hitters".

Perhaps this is the new go-between while they reinvent the true LIVE show?

AFAIK the visuals were not theirs, they were just generic vjing stuff, nothing remarkable yesterday.

Mainsteam tracks by other artists, or their own tracks?

Their own tracks. And not many tracks by other, interestingly

I can't compare it to other DJ sets because this was my first one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The set was very intense with only very few calm moments in between, I was absolutely spent afterwards from dancing and jumping around XD
The venue was small (at least compared to the stadium live shows) but it was packed and the crowd was absolutely into it :)
We also had a little Forum Meeting (Ben_J, Chemicalmat and a friend he brought along, and me), I had a lovely time meeting all of you and enjoying the gig together :)

I also have thought that DJ sets could be a great way to bring their music to fans without the challenges of a live show. For that, they have to haul literal truckloads of equipment, plus a crew of around 40-50 people, around the world. When they DJ, the lighting+sound equipment is I think always provided by the venue, and their crew will probably only be a handful of people.
