Hello everyone!

10 years ago on this day, I registered a domain thechembase.com and together with our mutual friend Caleb, known to you as WhiteNoise, we started creating this space.

I was responsible for the technical part, he was responsible for the design, and together we were responsible for the overall ideas of the resource.

This was a response to the fact that the label considered the official forum to be something irrelevant and unnecessary, while in my opinion and the opinion of many it was still a wonderful and convenient place for discussions.

We have always tried to bring a special comfort and tried to preserve the atmosphere of communication that originated in the original place.

I am grateful to everyone who has helped us all these years, fought against bots, brought good and interesting news and facts, digged samples info and shared recordings of performances and DJ sets.

Of course, my main thanks go to Caleb and Julius.

Unfortunately, I don't know the exact reasons why they left this place, and this brings me particular bitterness.

Unfortunately, I also don't have the opportunity to make a vinyl giveaway or some physical stuff with merch, I don't know how the guys from discord make it. I hope for your understanding.

The only gift that I can bring is the lifting of my last moratorium. But I also hope for your prudence in discussing serious topics.

Love is all.

x
Alexander
Hi Kevin!

It's been ten years already?
My, time flies, doesn't it?
Feels like not so long ago...
Anyway, Happy Chemanniversary!
Oh, and of course, thank you all, especially Explud, for keeping this forum up.
I can hit cheeky lizards if I want!

Happy Anniversary to this special corner of the internet. :) Thank you SO much Alexander for keeping this space available and for keeping it going for all of these years. It can be a thankless job for a million different  reasons, but your commitment to keeping Chembase going is big part of the community built here out of our nerdy love and appreciation of the Chems. <3

And of course, many thanks to Caleb as well for *insisting* the forum continue onward all those'd years ago, when the powers that be were going to pull the plug. And to Julius for treating the forum as he would if it were his own welcoming home. It shows. Wherever they may be, I hope they are well and that one day they'll wander back here. And that said, big love to everyone who has engaged here in some way be it lurking or joining in, sleuthing, predicting, speculating, and of course bullshitting over the past 10 years. The world has been through a lot, and this place and all of us have been through a lot also! I hope this place will still be around for another 10 years. Love Is All !

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

This community means a lot to me; it's like a safe place on the internet. It's incredible that 10 years have already passed... I remember joining around the time between CWU and PTB, and since then I've been checking the (old and new) forum almost daily. I would love to participate more often, but English is really hard for me... At least now there are good translators haha.
I always remember with great affection the song premieres and the virtual gatherings to listen to them, reading all your stories, the detective work to find clues about unreleased tracks... I repeat, it's a beautiful community.
My dream is to someday attend a ChemBros show in the UK and go to a forum members' meetup.
Thank you for all the work you've done over these years!!
Love is All!

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

And now i made up a video for this

Edit: ok, so for some reason on my phone the audio on both mp3 and the video would not let me hear the LOF sample if i'm holding the phone like a normal person. If i get closer to my ear it sounds normal. No problem on my PC though. Maybe it's because the audio is in mono, no idea no idea

Hey y'all, happy 10th

::cheers

This place and all you people made me who I am in countless ways. Will always appreciate the community I found that I never would have as a teenager stuck in one of the most conservative counties in Indiana. Great music, great art, impossible opportunities, travels, weirdos, new experiences, fresh perspectives, obscure tracks, live sets, dramatic wordy reviews, slices of life. Even the job I have now, I got largely due to my experience working on this site. More life than I know how to get into had its start here. Hard to think about sometimes.

Not gone out of bitterness, I hope you know. Appreciated working with you Explud - you helped me with everything I didn't know how to do back then (and that was most of it). In life, sometimes you just have to leave some things behind to make room for the new, you know? Insert a reference to the Eleventh Doctor's farewell speech here, like it's still 2015. Different people all through our lives, but I'll never forget when this was me. For the good relationships made here, glad to have played a role in keeping the lights on.

Hoping Julius is well too. I kept up with him a bit outside the forum, and he was every bit as kind there as he was here. Peter, I'm still spinning those tracks of yours, and thanks to you P.SUS is deep among my most listened artists. Thanks for everything. Miss you guys, might still poke my head back in here now and then, might be in touch if I'm nearby.

For That Beautiful Feeling was a doozy, wasn't it? I never thought I'd hear the Chems be that nostalgic or self-reflective.

Never for money, always for love.

Love this. Thanks for stopping by and elevating weekend spirits!

(Got to) Keep on, keeping on, dude!

Time flew fast! Here we are a decade later!

More of a lurker now , but still amazes me that all of you still keep in touch and discuss all things Chemical! I know that Discord seems the new norm now but this forum (and the one before it) laid the groundwork to allow us to be where we are today. Web technologies of the past and today still hold us together , but all of you mods, designers, and coders, etc, carried our stories, the general bs chat, now playing , and my fave, live show reviews, onto this space where we can collectively build and share memories,  discuss discographies, and relive moments that must be documented through our keyboards.

If we didn't have passionate Chems fans, this space wouldn't even exist. Just thinking about it makes me wonder what if I just went and played Chemical Brothers records all day and went to their live shows, but I never got the chance to interact with people like myself who live, breath, and dreamed about this band. To express our personalities and to geek out to each other on this forum is a joy that stays in my heart  forever.

Explud, Julius, and Caleb...thank you for laying the groundwork and the attention to detail for us to have a space where we can welcome new and old fans and discuss the world of music that Tom and Ed created! Thanks also to the mods for holding it down and maintaining the forum through the changes throughout the years.

Luv all of you!
This is up there. Like, Star Guitar up there.
