To be fair, my introduction to the Pink Panther was the cartoon. My parents pointed out that the cartoon is based on a movie character, and as I eventually grew older I'd bump into Peter Sellers work on Dr. Strangelove, which then conveniently coincided with the biographical film where Geoffrey Rush portrays Peter Sellers.
