Hi Whirly!

I just received an email from Amoeba with confirmation that my US preorder of the color vinyls have been shipped. I was mentioning the UK releases as my Chems collection is all about the UK releases (except for some nice US coloured vinyl versions of course). I have the feeling the UK release of WATN has been delayed for copyright reasons. What I don't understand is that my local record store in Amsterdam is selling a reissue of WATN (EU release) with the artwork with the hand and eyes. So does the UK release get the alternate artwork for WATN?

Amoeba has a competition to win test pressings of the entire collection.

Enter here.

Came Friday:

'Come With Us' final copy title print never moved to it's proper placement and as confirmed before 'We Are the Night' is edited cover version, along with upside down serial numbering!

Whaaat? Don't they let you sign a delivery statement to prove that you received your parcel? I hope you'll be getting some sort of compensation.

Yeah. This was a bit of shame. But it's still beautiful.

I took a photo of the backwards numbering on WATN too. I thought I'd found no.1 at first!

Looks like this place still has some copies of the limited editions.

Thing is, they won't ship internationally :(

Cool pics of your collection!

Got my two copies (WATN and PTB) today, or rather had to pick them up at customs, and yes, there are "etchings" on them. They're pretty hard to read on these transparent vinyls, though. What I was able to make out was only "Mike at the Exchange" and some numbers.

Btw, I feel like these pressings are a bit of poorer quality. My PTB copy has a rip in the record sleeve where paper is glued together (could be due to shipping) and the second sleeve isn't properly glued on one side. Also, some of the records' fringes  are rather edgy and poorly cut out and some lables on them are looking mildly battered.

Nevertheless, artwork looks amazing. Let's see what they sound like. Man, that was my most expensive 2 records purchase ever :D

That means they are in fact presses of the ASW copies. No forum jokes for us then....aw  :-[

I cant confirm or deny the condition of my records to compare, because mine are still all in shrink wrap waiting for a rainy day. But knowing the hassle you had to go through to get them, this is really disappointing to hear.

Looks like the second European vinyl version of We Are The Night is also getting the different artwork:

(At the bottom is says: Gerrit van der Veenlaan.... the Netherlands, so this is the second EU reissue of this album)

And release date is today (1st of may)?

Shame, I love the original We Are The Night artwork.
Well... this is the second reissue. The first reissue, from november 2016, has the original artwork, so now there are two :)

Oh, this somehow slipped past me. Thanks for the sentiment! The sound is pretty decent though (at least what my shitty 25 year old stereo can get out of it :D). Have you had any rainy days yet to get a listen?
