My grandma lives close to the venue, I might need to ask her if I can come over   :D
Oo-ee, bit wobbly on the old feet!

It's 237!  That's also the best number because it would make you the Turbo Nutter of the deluxe owners

Hey, it's the Hot-stepping Chemical Brothers, back once again like middle aged masters.
A baker's dozen of Insta story clips:

This one is called Studiomaster Numero 4 by Passerani. Seems to be a DJ tool. Not Chemical.

Other tracks played include:
Do It Again
Free yourself
HBHG (KiNK mix)
FLIAD
and Superflash (!) Sounding great but perhaps under-appreciated by the crowd.
IT'S MORNING TIME!

"We are nothing, added up to nothing, we become nothing?"

what is this nihilist anthem?

I've been listening to the Brothers since 1996, and this was my first live (not truly live, I know) experience!

One thing I noticed was how some of the songs worked so much better on the dance floor - Superflash, All of a Sudden, Feels Like I'm Dreaming were prime examples. I've never been the biggest fan of All of a Sudden but last night it was my favourite by miles. And I was very surprised of the crowd reaction for FLIAD in a positive way.

Presumably all the clips with those coloured circle visuals are for the same track - this one. Shall we call it The Nihilist Track?
In the 11th insta clip above from yagmuraysan (same track I think), I really like that melodic acid sound in the first part of the clip. More of this please!
So we've heard this track before  -at the start of the Bristol 3 clip and also in @nekoland 's fantastic Argentina YT video - from 19.00 to 24.00 mins. Must admit I've only just realised that "we are nothing..." etc is English, I thought it was some tribal vocal sample. D'oh!

@Noscho Welcome to the forum. Actually, you've been registered for ten years but this is your first post! Feel free to come back and post again; we (mostly) don't bite. I think some Chems tracks work best when you're stitting down, but other tracks really come to life when you're on your feet. Just Bang is one of those tracks that does nothing for me sitting down, but it's a great running/walking/dancing track. I also think All Of A Sudden may be a bit underrated.

My comment about Superflash was based on one clip, but I've seen other clips now, where people clearly were into it. Which is nice.

If you're reading this, I'd be grateful if you could tell us if they played any of the following tracks we heard in the Argentina set (video under spoiler).
Spoiler

1) 24:18 to 30:25 mins
2) 30:26 to 39:50
3) 51:09 to 55:44
4) 55:45 to 58:30

Or if you can't be bothered to skip through that video, just have a look at Bristol clips 2,3 and 4.

Question for the forum - possibly an unpopular question: Looking at how well synced the visuals are with the music, is it possible that the whole set is pre-recorded? I'm not looking to get 'flamed' here, I'm just asking a question! It seems the days when DJ sets were accompanied by spotlights, lasers and some strobes have kinda moved on now to something more full-on and synced up, no?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

1) 24:18 to 30:25 >> pretty sure they didn't
2) 30:26 to 39:50 >> fifty fifty on this one, they played a very acid-housey track but I'm not hundred percent sure it's this one.
3) 51:09 to 55:44 >> pretty sure they did
4) 55:45 to 58:30 >> I don't think so.

Apologies for my non dependable memory; the set was over 2 hrs and after the first hour the pints really started to show their power :))

Welcome Noscho, glad you had a great time at the DJ set :)
And thanks for the track report, we're always curious which (potential) new tracks might or might not have been played.

It's a fair question.

I think we've heard pretty clear evidence of it being pretty live and a little slapdash in places. Not ruling out the possibility of that ALSO being pre-recorded and a deliberate way to create some "faux" live dynamics - but I think, and certainly hope, that DJing is a lot easier for T&E and probably more fun in general, and while the "work" of being on stage might be avoided by having a pre-record - the need to be on stage for 3 hours pretending seems quite unbearable and, again I hope, goes against what I would think T&E consider a worthwhile performance and use of their time.

Also, specifically with the topic of the lights and visuals - they're by no means as synced up as the live shows are. It looks as though, to me at least, someone is kinda of VJing along with the tracks. Again, slightly rough around the edges in terms of lights syncing or different patterns showing up exactly in time with a new section of a track.

All of this is based from several 13 second clips though, so it's all kind of difficult to say.

I guess when they announce a West Coast DJ date and I go see for myself, I can try to be a bit more concrete with my thoughts!
