Love this!

Not sure about 'genre' but the reason it sounds a little off, but still not... Is because it's split into a bar of 7/8 and a bar of 9/8 - ultimately ending up resolving in a group of 16 (4/4) but with a weird sounding switch up in the middle. It's very cool. Jazzy in a kinda Ninja Tune way.

Big fan of this tune of his too - produced by one of my favourite bands of all time, Adult Jazz:
