What was up with the long downtime? Or was i the only one who couldn't reach the forums for days?
I know facebook can be quite boring (and the Cambridge Analytica/AIQ story doesn't help its reputation) but closed groups on Facebook can be quite useful. If you don't have a FB account it might be worth setting up a basic one just so you can join the Chembase group. We're all talking about you behind your back on there, so you may as well try to respond!  ;)
IT'S MORNING TIME!

I'm using Whatsapp and Instagram, that's enough Facebook for me  ;D

same. I kinda bitched about it on facebook last night (since we're also on the topic of facebook)
"The music Gets Louder, The Lights swirl faster, the chap who freaks out hasn't passed the acid test... A surprising number of these youngsters don't even know who Timothy Leary is..."

The other night I dreamt that the music in the new Mission Impossible trailer, turned out to be a new Chems tune. They put the audio for it up on their website and it was the same but it built into this electronic beast.

Obviously, it's not true. But. Maybe we'll get something soon? Because... y'know... premonitions?

Hi Kevin!

"The music Gets Louder, The Lights swirl faster, the chap who freaks out hasn't passed the acid test... A surprising number of these youngsters don't even know who Timothy Leary is..."

Few weeks ago, one of my friends managed to score interview with Nick Cave next month when he's coming to VIP Inmusic festival here in Zagreb.

She turned to me, almost lifelong fan of his work to come up with questions for said interview, since she's in another musical universe altogether.
And I'm drawing blanks. I can't for the life of me come up with anything remotely original or interesting to ask the man, that he didn't answer before.

Is anyone here fan of his work? Does anyone have any question you would ask him?
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
Any help would be much, much appreciated.

Well wish her good luck! As you probably already know Sandelic, Nick Cave can be a bit tricky! Maybe you're already aware of the interview he did with Zane Lowe back in 2007. Lowe mentions it HERE. (under Who Do You Love?). Lowe thought Grinderman was meant to be a sleazy character that Cave was playing, but Cave basically says: No.
In truth, I was actually with Lowe on this one. The name and the vibe of the album strongly suggested that to me too. There's a short version of the interview on
, but I think a lot of it has been edited out (by the BBC, not the Youtuber).

The first time I saw Cave live was as part of a four-artist line up at the Brixton Academy in 2004. He wasn't the headliner; Primal Scream were. It was a charity gig called Hoping For Palestine (incdentally, more songs were performed than you can see on that DVD listing. What a great gig that was!) .
Recently Cave came in for some criticism for playing in Israel. He responded to that critcism last November like this. So I guess I'd want to ask him how he feels about Hoping For Palestine now, and whether he would play a gig for them again.

I would also like to ask him how he has become an "arena" artist. His most recent London gigs were at The O2 Arena (20k capacity). I have seen Cave twice at Brixton Academy and once at Hammersmith Apollo (both approx 5k capacity). So, how has he gone from playing 5k venues (when I saw him) to 20k venues on his recent tour? I had this discussion a while ago and a couple of friends have suggested that it's since his son died. I.e. the extra publicity has actually helped ticket sales. I don't know if that's true but I'd like to know Cave's thoughts on this.

So a couple of easy questions for your friend, Sandelic. What could possibly go wrong?  ;D

IT'S MORNING TIME!

I will reach out to a record store owner I knew a while back - Nick Cave is one of his top tens, I think - will let you know if he thinks of anything.
Never for money, always for love.

Yeah, tricky is an understatement - they used to call him 'journalist eater', he was that obnoxious with journalists. But he quite mellowed in last couple of years (mainly after Arthur's death), so I'm not really worried he'll be kind of a dick. And my friend is very attractive, so he'll be nice.  ;D
Him becoming arena monster is really a good question, and it will make it on the list. It actually makes sense that his tickets are selling better after Arthur's death. But I'm afraid drawing that kind of parallel would wound him unnecessarily, and he did kind of told that himself in one of the interviews I've read online.
I didn't know about Hoping for Palestine 'issue', I would also like to know how he feels about it now.
Those are very good questions, Skyscraper. Don't be shy if any more comes to mind.  ;)

Thank you, guys. You're the best!

I know Anthnony Bourdain is an international figure, but I'm not sure how well liked and or well known he is outside of America. But the news of his suicide last Friday is a damn shame.

A total raw character living off the principles of giving patience, trying to understand everyone, and utilizing his coined 'Grandma Rule' with every meal he partook in.

He was more than a previledged foodie, he was a eager student of world cultures with an easily adaptable personality.

His travels around the world were a treat to watch. RIP Tony

He was here in Croatia years ago and did us a great service presenting our country as he did, that's how I've heard about him
Man was well spoken, smart and perceptive, it is such a shame he's no longer among us

Someone's written an article on my "Chemical Brothers Awesome Live Moments" playlist. This is too weird:

Never for money, always for love.

Ha, he turned your fan dedication into his "content". I wonder if he got paid for that.
The guy's surname is Nightingale. Which happens to be the surname of the Chems manager, Alex (son of Annie).
Probably just a coincidence though.
