Well, I see, that there's a nice gap between the ones who love the new version and the ones, that don't like it, or claim, that they even hate it...
Well, the biggest problem here is that it's so different from the original track, that it's the new track, while still being the Breathe. Some people are so stuck with nostalgia to the og Breathe, that they won't anyone even touch it. The best advice? Just take a few steps from your comfort zone and accept the changes.

The best example?

And they will win new fans over. This happens with every new Prodigy release. Actually,if you look you will see the likes far outweigh the dislikes. It's just the haters are always louder. Just a bunch of Snyder/Last Jedi, I can't stand change, boomers who have become old and jaded. Some are calling them sellouts for being in a Fast & Furious movie... meanwhile they had a track in Tokyo Drift 15 years ago. They're clueless.

I think you mean Gen X. I can't imagine The Prodigy have that many fans from the Boomer generation. That is unless, you're conveying the strong stubbornness qualities of Boomers. Which then I would argue that holds true for just about any generation that grows old. Nobody wants to feel like they lived their lives in vain. Most people that are privileged to age, will guard the inceptions of their youth and the subcultures that come with it.

I guess this makes me an apologist for those who JRSZ and you might be criticizing, but I agree that those who are claiming them as "sellouts", are lazy.

Star Wars is a whole other beast.

What I mean from the beginning, is that some people are just fighting over which song/movie/etc is good, or bad, just like the star wars fans fight over the trilogies, blame disney etc, while in fact it's them who ruin the fun instead of just enjoying them each at their own liking.
Like something? That's great, don't like it? that's also good, but all that wars are really unnecessary.

And talking about the older fans. Majority of them is spread over the facebook groups, some of them are the people, who grew with their early stuff, some of them are the fans of their early days, some of them are the retired 90's ravers, and some of them are the hardcore fans, telling all that amazing stories, etc.

And that's the best thing in it for me, sharing each other's stories, thoughts and generally spreading the love thru the community.
That's also the reason, why I really love the Chembase forum (which by the way has a way more user-friendly design, that the Brainkiller, but both of them are like each's equivalent), we might have the different thoughts, and opinnions, but we are here from the same love.

The Problem is, that on the facebook groups, all that amazing stories, discussions, etc are drowned in another 10 random photos, or the song links without any single word, that's why, when I post something I try to add something from myself, to let the discussion live

Simply? Spread love instead of making the war <3

Isn't it funny and hilariously ironic that so called "social media" is not so much about being social and socialize with others but rather about constantly self-promoting oneself in order to garner virtual likes just to elevate one's self-esteem?
You see a bunch of respones but rarely insightful discussions, some likes here and there and that's it. I believe Instagram is one of the worst examples of this. I almost never see (well, the few times I've visited some accounts) real conversations there or even responses from bands etc. Fukking borring.
Forums may be an older concept, but for the purpose of socializing and exchanging ideas and thoughts, it's still a pretty effective and fun one. Also, I probably would not have developed as much affection for peeps like ours here had I encountered the same ones just in a FB group etc.

I agree with you about the missionary stubborness in debates about taste and gusto which is pointless, at the end of the day one likes what one likes. But what I never understood and refused to accept is the argument that simply because something is new it has to be good or well received or not to be questioned. Change or being "new" are not criteria for quality themselves.
Though, I know where you're coming from since sometimes I shake my head as well when I read comments about the Chems or other bands not sounding like they used to and therefore are labled "bad" these days.

This remix however? I was a little suprised how bad it really turned out. It doesn't sound like a true Liam remix at all but rather than a (probably well paid) commissioned work for the movie (kinda like the Bros' Hunger Games track). The mixing sounds weird, too, and it's just 2:30 minutes long which is laughable. Liam has much superior remixes in his repertoir like Jay Z's 99 Problems or Oasis' Falling Down. This one's quite "meh" to me.
But to echo your last sentiment of your post: I'm glad you like it and the anticipation paid off for you!

Thx a lot Csar!

You simply filled some gaps in what I meant.
Ofc, the age of the track isn't the criteria in being the good, or bad, maybe I just messed some words, as english isn't my primary language so sometimes I keep making small mistakes, or mess up the sentences, but I see, that you understood what I meant with that labeling something because it's just different, that it used to be, as the change is the natural thing for humans and their creations.

BTW, there's a new Interview with Maxim about his "Hope" collab project

But there's also the interesting line mentioning the doccumentary claiming about the late 2021 release :D

I have not been the biggest fan of Prodigy's last 2 albums, but I have liked at least 3 songs on each one.

Kinda like this re-imagining of Breathe a lot.

Still mad they didn't play Poison when I saw them
i love chem bros omg!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poison is just a killer when it's playing live and oh god, that fill, that they use to play live could easily evolve into the full track :D

For me it's the complete BS, that they didn't performed the Fight Fire with Fire live at the gigs supported by Ho99o9

I love No Tourists. It sounded like Liam having fun again.

By the way, the idea for this Breathe remix began during the writing of No Tourists. And I can tell you that it's not the only rework/collab of a classic tune Liam did. Liam hinted about a 2019 release, which this was intended for. But Keith's passing put everything on hold. We got the doc coming, more remixes/collabs, and something else coming. Oops, I said too much. :D

JRSZ, you're gonna do well here.

I really appreciate the people that take the extra step to sign up and add to forums like ours. Whether it's enriching conversations, sharing unknown/inside information, or simply to confirm the sainthood of K+D+B. I think it's important that fandom has its own community away from places like reddit, facebook, twitter, etc.

But back to The Prodigy...

Brothers, sisters, and other siblings,
The Fat of the Land just turned 24.

The album, which followed the path of its predecessor, but this time also met the heavy use of the vocal talents of the Maxim, and Keith, who's surprising feature on the Firestarter made him one of the most influential icons of popculture to this day.

What's your fav tracks out of album?

My top 3 right now will be as it follows:
SMBU
Funky Shit
Narayan

Quick trivia: Many people doesn't even know, but in fac the "Fuel My Fire" is in fact the cover of the L7's song from 1994

I love the whole album. My favorite Prodge album.
Smack My Bitch Up, Funky Shit, and Diesel Power are top tunes.

FOTL era also had amazing b-sides: Molotov Bitch, One Man Army, The Trick.

I want a real super deluxe. Diesel Power (Dirtchamber Mix) and Ghost Town.

Apparently Back 2 Skool began during the FOTL era. We also never got that Skin collab track called "Take Me On" mentioned in Martin James' book.

Daaamn, It really deserves the deluxe like this, with all the B-Sides, some remixes, Ghost Town, etc.

Also, It's the 1st time, that I hear about the "Take Me On"

BTW, I almost forgot to say it, but there was a nice story of how I bought my TFOTL copy...

January 2017:

I have bought the Jilted and Exp already, so I decided to buy the TFOTL...
I'm searching my pockets, etc for some small change pennies hiding in my pockets, etc, and found like 19,99 zł.
I thought: Fuck it, I need at least the 23zł... Then I remembered myself, that I had some kind of discount from the royality program, so I went on my phone, to check out the discounted price: 19.98! NAILED IT! XDDDD
So I reserved it and went to school XDD

I'll never forget this moment:
I just came back from the centre of my city, I felt tired and cold, the snow was snowing, real winter in general.
I went to the shop, asked for my order, and started to reach out for every single penny in my pocket apologizing the saleswoman...
She said, that it's okay, she completely understands it, but the look on her face... I'LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT IT XDDDDDDD

Btw: symbolic ant and crab watching my CD's

From Martin James' 2002 edition of his book Prodigy...

The final version of the album did, however, omit two of the rumored collaborative songs. First, the track Liam had recorded with Skin from Skunk Anansie had, he said, been dropped because the combination of his music and her voice was just too poppy: 'I really like her voice, you know, but what she did on my track just didn't work well enough to be released. It was just too commercial, kind of a sell-out song. Actually, I never even said it was going to be on the album, but she told everyone. So I didn't actually drop it; I didn't know what the final track listing was going to be until it was finished, so that Skin track was never a definite.'

The second track that failed to materialize in its full glory was perhaps a little more disappointing. Liam had been working on a track that started quietly and just grew to Massive proportions, filled to the brim with rushing breaks and powerhouse techno flourishes. The guest vocalist he had in mind was Perry Farrell, ex of the legendary Jane's Addiction and at the time with Porno For Pyros. It was a coming together that seemed inspired. Farrell's bittersweet, snaking vocal lines melting into Liam's epic electronic funk would surely be the highlight of the album. In the end, the meeting never actually happened.

'Perry Farrell is out there. I'm telling you now, he's out there," laughs Liam with astonishment. "Trying to have a conversation with him was hopeless. We were sitting there, you know, telling him how we were into his stuff and how we'd love to do his Lollapalooza sometime, and he starts saying, "I don't do that anymore, man. Now we have a new thing. It's in the sky and the people are angels and this is how we're gonna get them there," totally fucking off it. Next thing I know, he calls me at home and asks if we can do his new tour that he was setting up, and I said yeah. Then we got to talking, and the idea of him guesting came up. He was totally into it. He was absolutely together on the phone, which was what I couldn't understand. He started going on about these vibes, and he seemed like he was on the ball. After the conversation, I was, like, really excited about it all, so I started on this track. Then the dates for his tour thing came through and I looked at my schedule, but we already had a lot of festivals booked up and we basically couldn't make it, so we phoned him back and said, "Unfortunately, we can't make the gig." And he said, "If you can't do the gig, I can't do the track." That track was written with him in mind and I can't picture anyone else with that track, so I had to get rid of it. I thought the whole thing was a bit shittym really.'

In the end, the track was released as the only instrumental on the album, 'Climbatize', a tune for which Liam maintains a strong dislike. 'I just overworked it, man. Originally it was this building track, no verse or chorus or that, but I made it too straight, really. I wish I'd kept the original version.' (Perhaps not surprisingly, Perry Farrell was once again to be penciled in as a collaborator on the sessions for the Band's fourth album, due in 2002.)

P.S.
Ghost Town was actually one of the first tracks written along with Firestarter, Breathe, and Funky Shit during a creative burst at the end of 1995. But Liam shelved the cover because he was unhappy with his recording and Tricky had just released his own cover the song. He felt it would be too fresh in people's minds.

Brother, sisters, siblings...

Today, 4th of July 2021 marks the 27 years since the premiere of "Music for the Jilted Generation",
my  personal fav album of all time, the real gamechanger.

Maybe the TFOTL is the most popular one, but it was the Jilted, which with its blend of Rave, Rock, Hip-Hop and psychedelics spiced up with many other small elements started the whole genre blending revolution, not even for the boys, but for the whole industry, which effects can be seen, or heard to this day.

I could talk all day and night, about the whole story of this release, the battle with NME, the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994 and all that shit, but I'll just leave you with this article:

https://djmag.com/content/solid-gold-how-music-jilted-generation-turned-prodigy-rave-outsiders-festival-headliners

Now the standard question:

Which 3 tracks is your fav ones?

For me it has to be the Voodoo People, Their Law and No Good, but absolutelly love the whole thing!

To celebrate the thing I'll also post my rather really amatour mix of the opening track "Break & Enter" made in late 2020

I didn't know the Farrel collab became Climbatize. (I have the book and read it a couplet of times). I did result in the Crispian Mills Narayan collaboration.

OK, didn't know that. When was Nightboat to Caïro recorded? Do you want that track on the super deluxe FOTL edition?  ;D

PS. @neorev,do you know if a recording of No Souvenirs excists and/or in which track is has evolved? Is it shelved or disgarted? I believe in a recent Russin interview the track is thrown away. It's a post TFOTL, post AONO track if I remember correctly.
