Randomly they are dropping another remix. This preview was posted on the 24th, and it doesn't sound awful. Only problem is how basic festival techno it sounds. Like without the obvious samples of the original, you could pass it off as a random track dropped at Veld or something. Chris Lake isn't a horrible artist, I like his stuff with deadmau5 but this really isn't something I'd listen do, much less DJ with. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this.
Take this brother...

Maybe a remix album on its way?

Earlier this month Chems were connected with two different clips featured at Lollapalooza, Chicago. One was this Chris Lake "Galvanize" remix and one was "Get Yourself High" by Don't Blink (?).

You add the  recent "Do it Again" Massano remix, that makes three ...

I'll fully admit I'm an old-fud. I have no use for these remixes. The exposure should help though.

For who though?

A bunch of new remixes for tracks makes sense to find a new audience, keep things #relevant, but an "album" would be targeted at folks like us - and I think we can mostly agree we don't much care for these recent versions of already solidly crowd-pleasing tracks.

So the answer would only be: For the algorithm. But having spent a lot more time on music streaming platforms recently - the "album" seems more like a menu from which to choose your main course. I'm most often hit with recommendations for new tracks when I load into YouTube music - and those individual tracks are what are going to end up settling into other people's playlists. So I think they're already doing what they want to in that regard?

Could a random collection of new remixes be on its way? Potentially. But I doubt we get (or dare I say, want) a physical release - so, at least personally, it feels like a sadly unwanted garnish on the side of my yummy FTBF main course which I ordered 2 years ago.

It's sad to think that any Chemical output wouldn't be for us/me - but that's unfortunately just a reality of growing up I think. I'm sure Star Wars fans can attest!

Now. Give us that DJ Koze remix please, Chemical HQ!

For who though?

I should've add I was strictly speaking about a digital album/compilation dedicated to newer DJs. But point very well made about algorithm hits.

Perhaps Chems need to license themselves to Fortnite! What the hell Jamie and Damon???!

Its just keeping themselves relevant and letting newer artists remix their stuff - there's definitely been a lot this summer but its pretty standard.

The current way this shite tech house is at the moment is very reliant on older samples to be used - and it doesn't hurt to let acts cut their older stuff up and repackage it.

I'm not bothered really either way - the remixes are not for me but more than happy to see them released for others!

Also the Artbat Remix of HBHG, which is 4.

3 official, and for now, 1 unofficial (Get Yourself High).

I know Aoki slapped his name on "Do it Again" and Guetta with "Hey Boy Hey Girl" (?), but that wasn't as recent.

[Nirvana did have a track called Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, but...it wasn't one]

I think Lake's remix of No Reason was better than I expected. This remix however, seems to 'compensate' for that surprise... by surprising me with unexpected new garbage.

Oh I missed this. Full uploads on YT and Soundcloud. This track has always been one of my least fave Chemical singles, so the remix seems...ok.
It tends to be when you start messing around with grade-A classics that things can be particualarly disappointing (yes, Galvanize above).

I was certainly more bothered about the remixes of the FTBF singles than I am about these rehash jobs.

[1] I don't really see it as connected, except that if last year's album had done better, maybe these remixes wouldn't be being pushed out. I also wonder if the current DJ tour would have been as extensive if the album had done better, or if that's also part of operation "Make Chems (commercially) Great Again".

[2] Star Wars (1977) was my first film as a kid. Back when it was just called Star Wars. I no longer keeep up with the spin-off shows.
Also I saw Aliens (1986) in the cinema, even though I was underage. So when I saw there was a new TV series, my first reaction was:

The TV show is pretty great though! As I'm sure you saw over in the Now Watching thread!

This is a really positive and healthy way to view the whole thing, and I very much respect the outlook. I just personally find it really difficult to detach myself from something I've been so heavily invested in for so many years. Every single release has been a full on expedition into hype and analysis, and, thankfully still at times, a truly magical surrender. So to turn that off and, maturely step away and say, y'know, it ain't for me - is tough!

So hats off! And you're right, if the kiddos are having a good time bopping out to a so-so re-edit of a true gem, then that's awesome. And boy do I envy the truly invested who seek out more and get to stumble on all of the original output for the first time!
